Jackson called up from Indy


Right-hander Steven Jackson today was called up from Triple-A Indy to replace lefty reliever Donnie Veal (groin), who’s on the 15-day DL.

Jackson was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on May 18. He pitched in four relief outings for Indy and went 1-0 with a 6.00 ERA. In seven games (one start) for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Jackson was 0-0 with a 1.88 ERA. He spent 10 days with the Yankees in April, but did not pitch in a game.
