This is a good move because Vasquez is not the answer to their utility infield problem. Cedeno needs someone to push him and hopefully Crosby will do that. Xavier Nady should be the organization’s next target acquistion. While I am not adverse to them listening to offers for Doumit, I just think that any trade involving him had better bring a lot of major league ready talent in return. The natives are restless and management needs to be mindful.

Why? Why? Why? This guy hasnt hit above .240 in half a decade. If this is competion or even depth for SS then the Pittsburgh Pirates may as well leave that position open when they take the field.

Crosby is at the worst a lateral move. He has some upside and could push Cedeno, or take his job. This isn’t a signing that is meant to put the Buccos over the top. Just a risk/reward signing for depth and/or motivation.
