CHICAGO — The MRI exam results on Steve Pearce’s sore right knee were negative, meaning there does not appear to be any significant structural damage. His status is day to day.
Pearce left today’s game against the Chicago Cubs in the sixth inning after he felt a pop in the knee while running to second base. Pearce tested the knee on the field and tried to remain in the game, then took himself out. He was examined at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was not available for comment.
