Thursday lineups

Pedro Alvarez has a new spot in the order, batting second for the series opener back home against the Phillies tonight. Bobby Crosby is back in the lineup at shortstop, with Andy LaRoche playing second.

Also, left-hander Dana Eveland cleared waivers today and has been assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

For the Pirates:

A mccutchen, cf
Jones, 1b
Milledge, rf
Doumit, c
Crosby, ss
Laroche, 2b

For the Phillies:
Victorino, cf

  1. Seriously, If you have a young power hitter struggling to get his feet settled, why move him up to a position where he might have to bunt? This was a Jack Wilson/Jay Bell spot in the line up in years past. I would say swap Alvarez with Crosby in this lineup.

    I did get to see the game yesterday. I have NO idea where Ronnie Cedeno’s mind is right now. He has no idea what he is doing at the plate.
