The Pirates have finalized their deal with Columbian shortstop Dilson Herrera, and are expected to announce the signing today.
Herrera, 16, will get a $220,000 bonus, the third-largest the Pirates have paid out this year for an international signing. They have spent a bit less than $4 million this year to sign international amateurs.
