Neil Walker will be featured on the MLB Network show “Top 10 Right Now: Second Basemen,” which will air at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Walker, 25, is the youngest second baseman on the list. Last season, he hit .296 with an .811 OPS and a .933 fielding percentage.
Last month, MLB Network named Andrew McCutchen the No. 1 center fielder in the game.

Some friends and I were talking the other day, we are all big Pittsburgh sports fans, I’ve been to 2 SB’s, Stanley Cup games and was a long time Pitt BB season ticket holder, so we’re loving the success of all ‘our’ teams. The Steelers are about to win their 7th SB, the Pens are legitimate cup contenders and Pitt is ranked in the Top 5 and could realistically make a national championship run. So there we are talking about the Pirates, making opening day plans. Discussing, or more accurately, bitching about the ineptness of this current Pirate regime, but we were talking baseball! My point is that these guys running the show don’t have a clue as to the depth of loyalty and love for the Pirates that so many of us have, otherwise they wouldn’t half ass things. WTF, 2 weeks until pitchers and catchers report and who knows? Can they be contenders? No, but we’ll keep believing, going to games and hoping, that someday, somehow the Buccos will once again take their rightful place among the other truly great Pittsburgh sports teams.
