In-game: Cedeno goes on 7-day DL

WASHINGTON — Ronny Cedeno got a concussion last night when he was hit in the back of the head while trying to break up a double play in the fourth inning. Cedeno made contact with Nats second baseman Danny Espinosa.

Cedeno was placed on the seven-day disabled list and infielder Pedro Ciriaco was recalled from Triple-A Indy. It’s a tough break for Cedeno, who’s riding a 10-game hitting streak. Although Ciriaco is listed as active today, Chase d’Arnaud started at shortstop today in the first game of a doubleheader against the Nats.

Should have brought up Hague, since between d’Arnau, Harrison, and Wood, you have the infield vacancies covered. But you have zilch when forced to play “Over-paid.”

Ciricao may be able to field but he’s no better than Dusty Brown at the plate.

  2. joel says:

Darno may well be the starting SS next year. Elvis Presley should be next years RFer. He can hit leftys very well and Jones and overpay should try and learn from him.

Luis Heredia pitched three scoreless innings yesterday in the GCL. Not to shabby for a 16YO that is a 1.6 millionaire. J. Taillion pitched four scoreless innings for WV the other day. Taillion should hit the majors in three years and Heredia the following year and what a combo they should be.

  3. Who would have thought?
