SIDNEY CROSBY
“They earned the win. We didn’t have the desperation that we needed.”

MARC-ANDRE FLEURY
“We’re still in a good spot. It’s disappointing. It would’ve been nice to have finished it off, but they’re a good team. They play hard. We’ve just got to be ready for the next one.”

“Like we expected, they came out strong again. I think a few were maybe a lucky bounce, off our guys and in. Sometimes that’s the way it goes. It’s good though. The guys I thought battled hard until the end to come back in this game.”

MIKE SULLIVAN
“I don’t think we played the game the right way. You’ve got to stay on the right side of people. You’ve got to have some depth to your attack. You’ve got to reload on the 50-50 battles. If you don’t pay attention to those details, you’re going to give up odd-man rushes or high-quality chances. We weren’t committed like our team usually is. I know we’re better. I know we will be better. We certainly weren’t good enough tonight.”

MATT CULLEN
“You can’t keep playing with fire like that. You’ve got to have a better start.  And we know that. We’ve got an experienced group that understands you’re going to have those ups and downs. It’s on us to respond now.”

RON HAINSEY
“We certainly didn’t have much offensive-zone time in the first. There’s no debating that. They got a couple of real good chances off the rush, maybe off turnovers more than mistakes on the breakout or the forecheck. Breakouts were OK, we just gave up a little too much all night on the rush.”

BRIAN DUMOULIN
“We know they like to get a lot of traffic in front of the net. They were getting pucks through, creating some scrums in front of the net. We know that’s one area that they’re good at. We’ve got to get better at it come Thursday.”

JUSTIN SCHULTZ
“We got off to a bad start and got behind and we were chasing all night again. It’s tough to keep winning in the playoffs if we’re doing that.”

BRANDON SAAD
“I think we got back to how we were playing. Once we got scored on, it sucked a little bit. They had a lot of puck possession and control. So we just got back to our game in the last period. Win the period, win the game. That was our mentality.”
