SIDNEY CROSBY
On Marc-Andre Fleury:
“He was under a lot of pressure throughout the whole night. It was necessarily just the second. It was different points throughout the whole game. He was solid. He had to make a ton of huge saves. They weren’t necessarily routine either. He was tested a lot. We don’t like to have to make him work that hard, but he was our best player.”

On how tough the series was:
“It was physical. They don’t pass up any opportunities to finish checks. They really tried to establish that from the first game. I thought we handled it the right way, but that being said, a lot of close games. You look at that overtime game in Columbus, even the ones here prior to that, it was tight hockey. It was great we were able to get the job done.”

On the power play:
“It’s important every series, special teams. Tonight it was really important for us. To gain some confidence is good, but we start fresh next series. Whoever we play, I’m sure there will be different challenges and things we have to adjust to, but it was good that it was able to help us throughout the whole series.”

BRYAN RUST
On his success in elimination games:
“I just try to handle it like any other game, try to go out there and work hard. I guess I’ve been kind of fortunate to get those bounces and get those plays from my linemate.”

“Guys in the locker room have been there before. We’ve had elimination games that we haven’t won. We just try to take each day it comes and each day as a new day and learn from the past game and move forwards. That’s what I think we did. We embraced the challenge and had fun with it.”

“I’ve kind of learned to expect the unexpected. Anything can happen. There’s huge momentum swings either way. Just kind of stay even keel throughout the entire thing. That’s what I’m trying to do.”

SCOTT WILSON
On the second period:
“We wanted to get out of that period up by one. We all kind of dialed it in for the last 20 and it’s obviously a good feeling.”

On his goal:
“That’s definitely blind, hoping I make contact. Anytime I can try to get to the net and find loose pucks, I do my best.”

JUSTIN SCHULTZ
On the third period:
“The power play was huge for us. Obviously an unbelievable shot by Sid to put that in and get a little bit a breathing room, a two-goal lead.”

JOHN TORTORELLA
“We’re a good team. I’m not going to the young and inexperienced. I don’t want to go there at all. I thought our guys had no fear. Playing against the Stanley Cup champ, a very good team, they had no fear. We put a ton of good minutes in. I’m proud of our club. That’s not a 4-1 series. I’m not going to (complain) and moan about it. They win. But I like a lot of things about our club. We have to lick our wounds and learn from some of the things that went on in this series, but I can’t wait to get going again with them, quite honestly. I’m proud of them.”
