Pitt is one of five Big East teams in the top 12 of the AP poll. Syracuse is No. 4, followed by Villanova at No. 7, West Virginia at No. 8 and Georgetown at No. 12. Kansas remains atop the poll followed by Kentucky.
Pitt, which is No. 16 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll, plays at Notre Dame (17-10, 6-8) on Wednesday.
