Pitt leads 13-10 at halftime


Pitt leads Florida International, 13-10, at halftime at Heinz Field.

Pitt kicker Dan Hutchins has two field goals, including a 38-yarder as time expired in the first half to give the Panthers the lead.

Ray Graham, who started for Dion Lewis (shoulder), has rushed for 104 yards on 12 carries, highlighted by a 34-yard touchdown run with 7:04 to play in the second quarter to give Pitt a 10-7 lead.

Florida International tied the score at 10-all on Jack Griffin’s 27-yard field goal with 1:01 to play before Pitt drove for the go-ahead field goal on the final play of the first half.

Quarterback Tino Sunseri has struggled for most of the first half, completing 5 of 12 passes for 66 yards.  

Pitt took a 3-0 lead on Hutchins’ 30-yard field goal early in the second quarter. Florida International answered by driving 75 yards on 13 plays, capped by Darriet Perry’s 1-yard run for a 7-3 FIU lead with 8:35 to play in the first half.

Lewis is dressed but is not expected to play for Pitt.

The Panthers have six pre-snap penalties, including an offsides that nulified a fumble recovery in the end zone and a pair of offsides on third down.
