Senior forward Gilbert Brown was named the Big East Men’s Basketball Player of the Week following his career-high 28-point performance against Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday.
Brown went 11 for 13 from the field and added five rebounds and five assists in 24 minutes in a 97-64 win. It is the first time Brown has won the Big East honor.
Also, Pitt (11-1) moved up to No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, released this afternoon. The Panthers, who play host to American on Wednesday, are one of five Big East teams in the top 10.
