Syracuse-Pitt post-game notes

January 18th, 2011

Beside a record-breaking 12,925 fans, about a dozen NBA scouts, Pitt’s victory over Syracuse attracted a handful of national media to the Pete.

Here’s what they had to say about Pitt’s 74-66 win:

The Panthers are Big East fighters, writes ESPN’s Dana O’Neil.

Pitt doesn’t lose at home, Gary Parrish of CBS Sports notes

Pitt answered some questions, writes SI’s Luke Winn

= Jamie Dixon got his first technical in more than two years after he raised his arms and pointed to the foul discrepancy (Pitt eight, Syracuse three) with seven minutes to play in the game.

“I didn’t say anything,” Dixon said. “I raised my arms. I apologized to the team afterward. I haven’t gotten a T in so long. It’s been a couple of years. Sometimes I guess you’ve got to get one.”
