Pitt (20-2) dropped two spots to No. 4 in the Associated Press men’s basketball poll, after a 1-1 week that included a loss to Notre Dame and a narrow win at Rutgers.
Ohio State received all 65 first-place votes. Kansas and Texas moved up to Nos. 2-3, respectively. Pitt plays host to Cincinnati on Saturday and at West Virginia on Monday, also dropped to No. 4 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ poll.

It’s a good thing for Ohio State, not to be held to the same standards for victory as the Pitt Panthers. Otherwise, they’d be dropped outside the Top 10 for their close wins over Northwestern, Michigan, Minnesota, and don’t forget Penn State. Those Buckeyes sure are convincing winners!
