WASHINGTON, D.C. — Unless Pitt is the victim of the biggest upset in NCAA Tournament history, the Panthers will play No. 8 seed Butler (24-9) in the third round on Saturday. Butler edged No. 9 seed Old Dominion (27-7), 60-58, on Matt Howard’s last-second shot this afternoon at Verizon Center in a second-round game. Pitt (27-5) will play UNC Asheville in about 30 minutes for the right to advance. No. 1 seeds are 104-0 against No. 16 seeds since 1985.
