McGhee, Wanamaker picked for Final Four all-star game


Brad Wanamaker and Gary McGhee were selected to play in the Reese’s College All-Star game on Friday in Houston.

McGhee, a 6-11 center, and Wanamaker, a 6-4 guard, are members of the East all-star team. Other East all-stars include Jacob Pullen of Kansas State, Austin Freeman of Georgetown and Dwight Hardy of St. John’s. The game features some of the top seniors in the nation.

The rosters were announced today by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The game will be played at 5:30 p.m. at Reliant Stadium, site of the Final Four. It will be aired on TruTV.


Also, as previously reported by the Trib, Pitt senior Gilbert Brown will compete in the Final Four dunk contest on Thursday. The event will be aired at 9 on ESPN2.

The rest of the eight-man dunk contest: Justin Burrell of St. John’s, Darnell Wilks of Cincinnati, John Williams of UNC Asheville, Will Coleman of Memphis, Billy White of San Diego State and Justin Tubbs of East Tennessee State and Jacob Tucker of Division III Illinois College
