LOUISVILLE, Ky: Florida Derby winner Dialed In drew post No. 8 and was installed as the 4-1 morning line favorite during the post draw for the 137th Kentucky Derby this afternoon at Churchill Downs.
“I was happy with it,” Nick Zito said of the No. 8 slot. “I think most the major players got good post positions, too.”
Inside a packed Secretariat Room, Todd Pletcher-trained 2-year-old champion Uncle Mo, who will leave out of post No. 18, was made the 9-2 second-choice, according to oddsmaker Mike Battaglia.
Nehro, trained by Steve Asmussen, is the 6-1 third-choice and will leave from post No. 19 in the 20-horse field. Arkansas Derby winner Archarcharch, conditioned by 70-year-old first-time Derby trainer Jinks Fires, and Bob Baffert-trained Santa Anita Derby winner Midnight Interlude, are the co-fourth choices at 10-1.
