Gilbert Brown began his NBA pre-draft tour by working out with the Indiana Pacers on Friday at the practice court at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Working out in front of team president Larry Bird, the 6-foot-6 Brown was joined by fellow swingman Jordan Hamilton of Texas, along with power forwards Markieff Morris of Kansas, Malcolm Thomas of San Diego State, Greg Smith of Fresno State and Jordan Williams of Maryland.
“One of the biggest things I’m trying to demonstrate is that I’m a defensive stopper,” Brown told reporters in Indy. “I’m capable of guarding one through four at any moment in the game. I’m also a reliable shooter. I want to show them Imore of a player than they already think I am coming out of Pitt.”
Brad Wanamaker is scheduled to workout for the Pacers on Monday, along with Demonte Harper of Morehead State, Jake Kelly of Indiana State, Malcolm Lee of UCLA, DeAndre Liggins of Kentucky and Iman Shumpert of Georgia Tech.
Gary McGhee worked out in Los Angeles this morning, after visiting the Knicks and the Bucks this past week.
