With the NBA draft 10 days away, Brad Wanamaker and Gilbert Brown remain as prospective second-round picks, according to the Week 4 mock draft by Hoopsworld.com. Hoopsworld, which does the mock draft each week for USA Today, predicts Wanamaker going with the 35th overall pick to the Detroit Pistons and Brown going 48th overall to the Atlanta Hawks.
Brown is scheduled to workout with the Pistons on Tuesday.
Obviously, it’s only a mock draft, but Wanamaker going 35th to the Pistons would put the 6-4 guard one pick ahead of where Sam Young and DeJuan Blair went back-to-back to the Grizzlies and Spurs in the 2009 draft. It would be the highest draft pick by a Pitt player in 12 years (Vonteego Cummings, 26th, 1999). Wanamaker definitely seems like the type of player that Pistons president Joe Dumars would appreciate.
