ESPN released their Class of 2012 rankings and, surprise, no Steve Adams in the Top 100. The reasoning is that the ESPN scouts haven’t had the chance to watch the New Zealand native, but you would think his performance at the Adidas Nations camp — where the 7-foot Adams had his way with ESPN No. 7 Kaleb Tarczewski, among others — would have given them more than enough to watch.
Here is a link to ESPN senior basketball recruiting analyst Dave Telep’s chat. The second question asks about Steve Adams’ absence from the top 100. Telep gives a reasonable answer.
** Pitt still is in the running for a couple of top 100 players, most notably No. 25 Amile Jefferson, a 6-7 forward from Friends Central, and No. 49 James Robinson, a 6-3 point guard from DeMatha (Md.).
