Gibbs named Blue Ribbon pre-season All-American



Senior guard Ashton Gibbs was named to the third-team pre-season All-America team in the 2011-12 edition of  Blue Ribbon magazine, which was released late last week.

Gibbs is one of five Big East players on the four All-America teams, joined by first-teamer Kris Joseph of Syracuse; second-teamer Jeremy Lamb of Connecticut; and fourth-teamers Tim Abromaitis of Notre Dame and incoming freshman Andre Drummond of Connecticut.

Pitt is ranked No. 8 in the pre-season rankings. The top five are North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio State, Syracuse and Connecticut.
