Seniors Ashton Gibbs, Nasir Robinson and walk-on Nick Rivers and head coach Jamie Dixon will represent Pitt at Big East Media Day in Manhattan on Wednesday.
Former Aliquippa star Herb Pope of Seton Hall, and Truck Bryant and Kevin Jones of West Virginia also will attend the event for their respective schools.
The annual media day is traditionally held at Madison Square Garden, but this year was relocated to the New York Athletic Club, site of the Heisman Trophy presentation, due to a $1 billion renovation at the Garden.
You can bet a bunch of typically slovenly reporters aren’t too happy that the NYAC has a dress code calling for sports jackets.
The pre-season awards — all-Big East teams, player of the year, newcomer of the year — will be announced on Wednesday morning.
It will be interesting to see the reaction that ACC-bound Pitt and Syracuse receive from the rest of the conference.
