Guards Tray Woodall (abdomen) and Ashton Gibbs (ankle) sat out Friday’s practice while dealing with various injuries. Woodall, who returned from a six-game absence to play 18 minutes in Tuesday’s 72-59 loss at Notre Dame, hasn’t practiced since the Fighting Irish game.
Gibbs has been fighting through the ankle injury, which coach Jamie Dixon called “recurring.”
“His ankle has been bothering him for a while,” Dixon said. “It’s something we’ve had to battle through. It’s been in and out. Some days it’s good and other days not as good. It’s been kind of strange in how it’s come and gone.”
Woodall will be a game-time decision when Pitt (11-3, 0-1) plays host to Cincinnati (10-3, 0-0) at 7 p.m. on New Year’s Day. As for Gibbs playing, Dixon said, “We’ll see.”
