Three former Pitt players — Tyrell Biggs and Antonio Graves of the Canton Charge and Gilbert Brown of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants — are on the ballot for the 2012 NBA D-League All-Star game. With an NBA insider account, you can vote here. The All-Star game is Feb. 25 in Orlando.
Biggs, a 6-8 forward, is averaging 17.4 points and 5.9 rebounds. Graves, a 6-3 guard, is averaging 6.4 points and Brown, a 6-6 forward, is averaging 13.3 points and 4.5 rebounds.
*** Pitt didn’t get much love in the “30 years at the Garden” voting by the Big East Conference for the top 10 moments at Madison Square Garden. There are no Panthers listed on the top 10 players or any Pitt squads on the top 10 teams from the Garden memories. Pitt’s double-overtime loss to Connecticut in the 2002 Big East title game — Taliek Brown’s 35-foot dagger comes to mind — is listed as one of the top 10 moments, but that doesn’t bring back many fond memories for Panther fans.
You can vote on the best of the best here. Syracuse and Connecticut in six overtimes in 2009 is the obvious top choice.
