Gil Brown cut by D-League team

Former Pitt forward Gilbert Brown was cut by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA D-League. The 6-foot-6 Brown was waived to make room for former Notre Dame guard Tory Jackson, who is coming off an ankle injury.

Brown, who averaged 12.2 points and 4 rebounds per game in 19 games for the Mad Ants, didn’t get a chance to play in tonight’s game against the Erie BayHawks in a Big East reunion with former Schenley star D.J. Kennedy, who is having a strong season in the D-League, including a game with Jeremy Lin.
