Robinson makes USA U-18 final cut

Incoming Pitt recruit James Robinson made the USA U-18 men’s basketball team after a week of tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The 12-man team, coached by Florida’s Billy Donovan, will compete in the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championships June 16-20 in Brazil. Robinson, a 6-foot-3, four-star point guard from Dematha (Md.) Catholic, has previous USA Basketball experience in April at the 15th annual Nike Hoop Summit.

The experience could be invaluable for Robinson, who is Pitt’s point guard of the future and will give valuable depth behind Tray Woodall, coming off a sports hernia surgery, this season.
