No Walker, no Legend. Bad. B Wood. Worse. And don’t get me started with Diaz batting cleanup. Ugh.
I was hoping they would try and bring out all the bats to go for the series win against the newly recalled AAA guy. Harrison for Walker to give him a rest isn’t as bad in my book – more speed if anything else. Wood and Diaz, though?

And as an added bonus, no PBP tonight, not really necessary here and takes away from Jagrwatch
I guess this is the fall back to .500 lineup.
I would love to see this lineup surprise some people. I think we are going to see a lot of small ball tonight. Lets get this win for some momentum going into the weekend! I would love to see the Bucs within a game of the division when they come home on July 4th!
Walker out due to a back problem
Almost game time, everyone. Good Luck to the Bucs! Going to all four games this weekend in DC, so hopefully they come in with great momentum and take it to the gNats!
Nice speed from Elvis. Good start.
Though McKenry hasn’t done much with the bat, I love Walk’s nickname for him – “The Fort.”
Overbay saved that inning with a nice play to get Escobar at home. Let’s go Bats!
@DK
Is Karstens arbitration eligible after the season? If so, I can only imagine how much of a raise he would get after what Ross Ohlendorf received for the season he had.
Anybody know the record for most 10 strikeout games by an offense. I sense another one coming tonight, but I really hope not.
Pokey
Karstens was arbitration eligible after last season , signed for $1.1 million, will in his 2nd arbitration year after this season.
McKenry may not hit much, but I’ve not seen much better defense or play-calling. He’s the real deal.
Thanks JAL
He is the real deal backup catcher..I am ok seeing him every third day
@PokeyReese:
Yes. And hopefully he can help Doumit/Whoever in the bullpen!
Robbed of run on that hit
Way to go Chase with the “two hands” on that pop-up. Must of read my note from last night.
When does Matt Hague get a shot?
@DK
Hurdle might know something eh? I take back my statement about Wood
Well, this nothing lineup has put 5 runs up–you just never know.
Hurdle is a wizard. Somehow. I dunno.
Does that escobar cheap shot warrant a retalliation
Escobar needs a nice fastball in the ribs – same place where he punched Diaz with the ball.
Should we bring in Hanrahan in the 8th just to serve up a good 99 mph fastball to Escobar’s ribs?
Well, what do I know. Let’s finish the deal and to within two of Milwaukee.
This season is so far just a bunch of fresh air
6 outs to go
Am I the last guy that would like to see Brandon Wood get some regular ABs? Finally some pop in the lineup.
Five outs to go.
I was away…..what cheap shot?
Escobar punched diaz with the ball on a hard slide to break up thr double play. Similar to the slide the other night
Want to add Lansing, Michigan to family
Bob, BTW Lebo is my home town along with Drews, ever go to Parkview Hoagies? Drew has some pizza place he liked, our Dads ashes are both sitting in churches on Washington Rd, just sayin…..
Escobar at second while throwing to first, held the ball and pretty much punched Diaz with it, now I’ve seen low sidearm throws to get a runner down, but not a punch like that, thinking about the description punch, yeah, he held the ball and hit Diaz with it.
It was a glancing blow, from the last replay on Root
Mr Walk, on Root is talking about the old days and retaliation
Roberto had the best idea of retaliation, dust yourself off and drive it up the middle, I do remember though where batters would intentionally bunt towards first so one could run the pitcher down
Todays players, like Escobar are wimps
As I sit here on the couch, clicking, easy to say
One out left to go to an 8-7 interleague record?
8-7 interleague play, tied for 2nd and 2 games out of first, and 2 games over .500 – I’m liking it. Let’s get ‘um in DC this weekend. Good night everyone! Let’s go Buccos!
rtjr!
I’m not sleeping till Jagrwatch reports,
Nah, PBC wins, good evening, I’ll sleep like an AARP baby
Keep hating on this righty lineup.
@DK: walking home fro your mailbox?
@All: did ya like that Wood home run call?
Believe friends. A barely average collective with a helluva pitching staff…led by a manager who knows the game, but more importantly, knows his talent.
Like the 05 Steelers posters w the Chief’s picture and the caption: BELIEVE! (It’s Tanner magic)
Bizrow i havent eaten there. Ill have to check it out. Thanks
So Dejan, about that walk home (from your mailbox). . . .
Marching out to the mailbox tomorrow. Still seeking sponsors for my effort. I’ll donate all my collections to the Starbucks of my choosing.
