Comments

  1. JAL says:

Hope Harrison can play better defense tonight. Last game was brutal.

  2. Duncan says:

Time for the Pena audition. May he demonstrate to ownership that we should acquire him without impacting our win/loss record.

  3. Curt says:

This is a crucial series to win. Need momentum headed to the break!

  4. Dejan Kovacevic says:

@Curt: That sounds crazy when talking about the Pirates — a lot of this does — but I’ll agree.

  5. TimT says:

Dejan – I clicked on the link about the news updates from the “Bucco Blog” and it said page not found. Also, I clicked on the Bucco Blog link under all blogs and the last update was from July 3rd. I just wanted to make you aware.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  6. Cajun Thunder says:

    @ JAL

I doubt that Harrison is as dizzy as he was the other night. I’d call that an extenuating circumstance. Not that his defense is great or anything, but I wouldn’t use that one inning to judge him.

  7. Dejan Kovacevic says:

    @Thanks, Tim. I’ll fix that.

  8. PokeyReese says:

It doesn’t surprise me that I heard audio today from Lyle Overbay saying he didn’t think the Pirates needed to make any moves. He is a pro and knows he is nearing the end of the line. Pena would be a great swap out for Lyle. The additions of Doumit, Alvarez, and Pena would certainly change the dynamic of this lineup

  9. TimT says:

    @Dejan – You’re welcome

I wish I was at the game tonight. I’ll be making the trip from Hilliard, Ohio for the afternoon game on the 20th versus the Reds.

  10. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    One game back, Jack.

Just win this series (2 of 3) and finish the first half strong.

  11. Cajun Thunder says:

Overbay doesn’t think the Pirates need to make any moves, because he’d be one of the moves.

  12. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Overbay hasn’t been as great as advertised defensively but I still think he’s pretty good compared to most first baseman. A lot of the plays he makes routinely get taken for granted.

They do have to take that into consideration. In an attempt to gain some offense, they might end up being about the same overall if they lose quite a bit defensively at first base.

  13. JMB says:

    -6.4 UZR.

The Overbay “is still good defensively” meme is hard to fathom. He is atrocious!

Overbay looks like a dude wearing cement shoes, and his scoop-ability is ridiculously overrated.

Tie that into his lack of OPB / OPS, and he’s gotta go!

  14. DavedigsDKsblog says:

It gets magnified when he makes an error because he is supposed to be a top defensive first baseman. He’s made more errors than expected.

But day-by-day I think his defense has been big for this team. Same as Cedeno at SS. Cedeno has had a surprisingly strong season.

Defense has been key because of our pitchers not getting a lot of strikeouts, a lot of balls get put in play.

  15. DavedigsDKsblog says:

With another first baseman (better offensively) they might be able to score more runs but then again they might not field as well and then the other team will score more, so it’s a give and take.

Pena by most accounts is solid defensively. We’ll check it out this weekend.

Reynolds, for example, would be a huge downgrade.

  16. JMB says:

Well, yes Ronny Cedeno has a 4.4 UZR and a 1.2 fWAR (career highs).

Ronny should have his $3m option for 2012 exercised (barring a terrible 2nd half of the season).

I’m with you on Reynolds. His D is regressing, so he would need to hit 60+ hr’s a season to compensate.

  17. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Could be an interesting first game of the series.

Never know about JMac. Their guy has decent numbers.

Ramirez has been on a power surge of late.

  18. DavedigsDKsblog says:

I’m at work and it said my registration expired on the other site. I can’t update it until later when I get home.

Looks like I’ll be following on here.

  19. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    cool opening footage on Root

  20. JMB says:

The Root intro cracked me up.

The reason the Pirates are a “remarkable story” is the WINS!

  21. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Ramirez goes deep

    10th HR in 14 games

  22. DavedigsDKsblog says:

too bad he doesn’t play first base

    that would be the guy

  23. JMB says:

    Dk –

I forgot to ask you this earlier.

Any opinion from BNut about the other teams (Dodgers, Mets, etc) being allowed to egregiously flaunt the debt ratio while the Bucs had to lose Ramirez in 2004 because of it?

I know he wasnt the owner at the time, but Ogden was on the board.

  24. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    1-0 Cubs

    middle 3th

  25. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    3rd rather

  26. JAL says:

JMac not getting hit hard but throwing far too many pitches. Won’t get through 5 at this rate.

  27. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    two on

    one out

    D’Arnaud double

  28. hsages211 says:

I’m wondering if we’ve gotten to the point where we need to be concerned about Pedro Alvarez’s performance at the plate in this rehab assignment. In Bradenton, he went 3 for 16 with 5 K’s and now in Indy he’s 3 for 15 with 6 K’s. I always figured he’d strike out a lot but the lack of any kind of production at the minor league level is a bit disconcerting.

  29. DavedigsDKsblog says:

I have noticed Chase is an aggressive hitter.

A lot of our guys watch the first strike but he goes up there looking to swing early.

  30. hsages211 says:

    Neil Walker is clutch

  31. DavedigsDKsblog says:

I’ll admit. I had my doubts about us getting those runs in.

    Good work by Walker.

  32. BenderHeel says:

@DaveDigs: There was an article here in Philly a week or so ago about Raul Ibanez’s slump and his realization while driving to the ballpark that he simply needed to be more aggressive and swing at pitches earlier in the count. I think the first night he was 3-4 with all the team’s RBIs.

  33. DavedigsDKsblog says:

I think that big Pirate guy looks like Ed Bouchette.

    Sorry, wrong newspaper.

  34. DavedigsDKsblog says:

I really like how Ramirez is playing.

Maybe we should just trade for him and keep Alvarez at AAA.

He’ll be a good pickup for some team, if not the Pirates.

  35. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Wow. Can’t believe Chase beat out that DP.

That ball was struck hard right at SS.

  36. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    oops nevermind

    he was out

    almost though

  37. Reading says:

12 more outs. Could be tied for first at end of day. Come on Man!

  38. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Byrd 3-for-3

    runners at second and third

    key moment in the 6th

  39. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    99 pitches for JMac

  40. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

I’ve been watching pitch locations vrs batter trends on MLB.com… J-Mc has been flirting with disaster this inning. Right time for a move.

  41. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    3-2 Cubs

Seems like when we fall behind late like this, we’re finished.

Hope that’s not the case tonight.

  42. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Maybe a mistake by the Cubs letting the pitcher bat.

He is pitching a good game and only has 76 pitches but he might get tired now. Another run there to make it 4-2 is pretty much the game against the Pirates.

  43. hsages211 says:

Brad Lincoln is currently pitching a gem down at Indy. 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 ER, 8K, and 1BB on 92 pitches (65 strikes 27 balls)

  44. JAL says:

    Bad 0-2 pitch by Resop

  45. hsages211 says:

Since my last post about Alvarez, he’s doubled in his next two ABs

  46. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Yes! Cutch

    Tie game

  47. JMB says:

    YEAH CUTCH!

  48. JAL says:

    Andrew homer ties it up

  49. DavedigsDKsblog says:

They’re trying to stretch this pitcher and he’s tiring.

We need to jump on him here.

  50. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Poor at-bats for Walker and Overbay.

  51. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Brewers are losing; D-Backs have tied the game with St.L.

  52. JAL says:

    Lead off hit, out stealing

  53. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    feels like the pennant race

  54. JAL says:

    Resop not sharp tonight.

  55. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Resop struggling, now facing Ramirez who has been hot

  56. Keith says:

    @Dejan,

So what prompted you to mention Pena and Lee by name in the previous thread? You’ve said you don’t like to get into name-dropping unless names have been cited (my translation – I think that was your take). Does that mean these names came from “the meeting”?

  57. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Resop needs to get his pitches down or Ramirez will crush another one.

  58. DavedigsDKsblog says:

We’re really walking the line tonight.

    3-3

not out of it yet with Watson coming in

  59. Ryan76 says:

    @Keith

    Was thinking the same thing.

Good to see PA get a couple of hits for Indy. He could help this team more than either Pena or Bell, in my opinion.

  60. Ryan76 says:

Can’t get over the crowds this team is drawing. Staggering. But well deserved. What a sight!

  61. Keith says:

    @Ryan76

Hope = Fans in the seats

  62. Reading says:

Tense one! Somebody needs to come through now big time!

  63. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Ouch!

  64. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Also, there are probably a lot of fans in the region (Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and so forth) who are making the trip now that it’s summer and they have more time off and the team is respectable. Tough to drive 4-5 hours on a standard week night. You’ll never make it after work but in the summer with more time off it’s a nice trip.

  65. matmoksik says:

That happened just the other day with GI Jones getting doubled off!

  66. pattonbb says:

you’ve got to be kidding….. seems that happens at least once every 2 or 3 games. I’m sure I’m exaggerating, but jeeze….

  67. DavedigsDKsblog says:

this one is setting up for a dramatic finish

  68. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    it’s in the air tonight

  69. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    every game is tied

    Brewers-Reds

    D’Backs-Cards

    and Cubs-Pirates

  70. BenderHeel says:

Re: attendance – I’ve been saying for years that if they build it (a winning team), they will come. Great to see it coming to fruition on both sides. Now get a power bat!

Speaking of which, Derrek Lee is 2-3 with a double and HR against Boston tonight.

  71. pattonbb says:

    crap…

  72. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Veras stinkin tonight

  73. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    might be the ballgame

    4-3 Cubs

  74. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Veras has had some big moments don’t get me wrong, but we’ll all die for heart attacks by the end of the season if he’s the 8th inning guy the rest of the guy.

I wouldn’t mind if they tried to trade for reliever, if Meek is unable to come back strong.

  75. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    bases still loaded

    McCutchen coming in

4-3 not looking good…let’s keep it that

  76. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    still alive

    4-3

    middle 8th

  77. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    we can do this

    focus

  78. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

ok… Let’s Go Bucs! Heart of the order…

  79. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    veteran at bat right there

  80. DavedigsDKsblog says:

too bad Diaz has to run now, though

    way to get on

  81. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Az 7, StL 3; Cin 6, Mil 5… both games in 7th inning

  82. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    showtime for Harrison

    be a player

  83. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Yes!

    tied again

  84. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    not by much

but he got the leg in there

  85. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSss!!!!!!!

  86. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    4-4

    who said baseball was boring?

  87. Ryan76 says:

Ciriaco MVP of this one….with JHay

  88. DavedigsDKsblog says:

McKenry trying to catch this guy while he’s down

  89. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    we could be in first

    everything breaking right

    have to win this

  90. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    OH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  91. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    7-4

    MCKENRY SMASH!!!!!!!!

  92. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Outstanding at-bat! Get ready for the Handy Man!!!!!!!

  93. Ryan76 says:

    Oh Henry!!

  94. DavedigsDKsblog says:

Marmol was down a little after giving up the tying run

    underestimating McKenry

    wham

  95. Keith says:

Unbelievable. Freakin’ unbelievable. The legend of the Fort.

  96. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Looks like we could be be sitting in the Crow’s Nest by morning!

  97. JoeBucco says:

    Come on Buccos!

    Cards = Losing
    Brewers = Losing

1st place is right there. Wow.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  98. DavedigsDKsblog says:

as big a home run as there has been in a long long time

by a guy who was bagging groceries basically a few weeks ago

  99. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Cin 7, Mil 5; Ari 7, StL. 3 … bottom 7th both games

  100. JAL says:

    McKenry has a good pickup

  101. DavedigsDKsblog says:

what an inning that was looking back

    Diaz drawing the walk

    Ciriaco breaking up the DP

Walker barely scoring on Harrison’s hit

unlikely McKenry with the 3-run blast

  102. JoeBucco says:

Gotta quote the D-MAN to properly relay this feeling.

    “THIS IS NOT REAL LIFE!!!!!”

  103. Keith says:

You think the guys on this team love this? Harrison and McKenry getting it done in the clutch? These are the types of things Kendall and Giles used to laugh at while they led the team to the bottom of the division routinely. Meanwhile, Walker and Cutch are grinning from ear to ear. Gotta love these guys.

  104. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    one more out

    pandemonium right now

  105. JoeBucco says:

    RAISE IT!

  106. Pacfrag says:

    Wow

  107. Buckeyehba says:

    We win…we win!!!,

  108. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

WoooHooooo! Will shortly be checking to see if hell freezes over….

  109. Buckeyehba says:

Who says we need to trade for a catcher!

  110. pattonbb says:

    Fear the Bones!!

  111. LikeaBugonaRug says:

How about that! And what a crowd! Great seeing a game against the Cubs when most of this huge crowd is actually cheering for the Buccos!

  112. Dan1283 says:

Dejan, you’d better have one pretty awesome piece brewin if this team hits first place this weekend! This screams for a feature on fans, for fans!

That home run….wow. Just the latest great moment in the most memorable season since 1997.

Why add? Don’t mess with this team’s chemistry! Wait for Pedro and Doumit and ride this wave!!!

  113. Buckeyehba says:

Resop and Marmol both got stubborn throwing fast balls and both got burnt.

  114. JMB says:

    DK –

You can dust off that piece you wrote last year about PA’s 3run shot.

The Fort’s blast might be the actual shot that turns the franchise around!

  115. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

I’m sticking right here to ride out the other two games…. Cin 7, Mil 5 top 8th, Ari 7, StL 4 bottom 8th.

    Tonight we ride the scoreboard!

  116. DavedigsDKsblog says:

I’d say that was the Cordova no hitter/Mark Smith walk off game of this year, so far.

  117. JoeBucco says:

NFW. That’s all I have to say.

I find myself standing in my living room rooting for the Reds. No other team in baseball would care more about a 3 way tie for first on July 8.

  118. JoeBucco says:

Come on D-Bags, don’t blow this one.

  119. Dock Ellis says:

    6 outs away from first!

  120. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Yikes, 7-6 D’Backs in the 9th.

  121. Reading says:

Hal Smith-esque! Well, for purposes of this team. Awesome win!

  122. JMB says:

    Cordero walks the leadoff–ugh!

  123. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Uh–oh… Cordero is pitching wild for the Reds in the ninth…

  124. DavedigsDKsblog says:

This night really has had the feel of being late in the season, in the stretch run.

Pirates win late and now both of these games going down to the wire.

  125. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Bottom of ninth in both games… Pujols leads off for Cards…

  126. DavedigsDKsblog says:

wild I’m not even sure describes it

    haha

that last pitched missed by 10 feet

  127. JMB says:

    come on David Hernandez!

  128. DavedigsDKsblog says:

7-6 and Brewers have tying run at third

  129. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Now 7-6 in Milwaukee. Cordero is stinking up the house. Man on third one out.

  130. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    whoa collision at the plate

    Reds get the big out

  131. JMB says:

Pujols walks / but great block of plate by Cincy C!

  132. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Pujols leadoff walk for Cards.

  133. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Hanigan held on

  134. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Fielder is up

    not over yet

  135. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

One down in StL. Pop to first by Holliday.

  136. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Error in StL…. two on, one out…

  137. TDB1977 says:

I cannot believe I’m sitting here tonight rooting for the Diamondbacks and Reds tonight to win their games.

  138. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    two on…two out

    for the Brewers

  139. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Strikeout in StL… two down!!!!!!!!!!

  140. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    infield hit…bases loaded for Brewers

    tying run at third

  141. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Cordero is quite possibly the worst closer in the game…..

  142. JMB says:

    dbacks WIN!

  143. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    Cordero might throw WP

  144. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Hang on tight!!!!!

  145. ddom says:

    Cardinals lose

  146. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Cordero vs. Kotsay……impressive matchup….in 2005

  147. DavedigsDKsblog says:

    yuck

    Brewers win it

  148. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    That was pathetic

  149. CDBrewer says:

    I hate the Reds

    but I hate Milwaukee more.
    Damn

  150. Mike C. says:

Mike C. Seoul, S. Korea here.
it’s Saturday just past noon here, woke up late, just checked the scores and wth is going on ?!?! Am i still dreaming? Buccos could….. i can’t even type in fear of jinxing it

  151. Dejan Kovacevic says:

One of the many great things about the blog and the dominant majority of regulars here is that you all know you were on board before the Pirates became all the rage. Meaning, before the Mike McKenry Era of baseball began in Pittsburgh.

  152. JMB says:

that sucked! WE WANT 1ST PLACE!!!

    maybe tomorrow.

    Stupid Cordero.

  153. Playoffs by 2012 says:

That is why you don’t overpay for a closer

  154. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    @DK

    AMEN!!!

  155. TDB1977 says:

I hate you Cincinnati! Cordero, your a bum!

  156. JoeBucco says:

Francisco Cordero flat out stinks. He is why the Reds are not a threat to win this division. Thanks for proving that for me tonight Co-Co.

  157. Dejan Kovacevic says:

@Mike: As our friend DARYLE might suggest, this is not real life.

  158. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    LMAO @ Dejan!

This was a fun, fun night.

    Can’t wait for tomorrow!

  159. JoeBucco says:

@DK – Yea, but we have room on the wagon for more. We know who the diehards are. But it’s time for us to let everyone else in on the secret.

It’s kinda becoming cool to be a Pirates fan right now. I was at Summerfest in Milwaukee on Wednesday night, and saw 8 people in Pirate gear walking around. Awesome.

  160. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Pre-McKenry era… heh heh….

  161. ImSorree says:

    AAAARRRRGGGGH!!!!
(Spoken by a long time lurker, not a newbie on the bandwagon…..)

  162. Dock Ellis says:

Next two games on WGN for the displaced amongst us to watch without fear of slow bandwidth.

  163. Keith says:

I guess we know who the key figure in Dejan’s column tomorrow is going to be…

  164. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Serious note… can’t for the life of me figure how Cordero did not get yanked. He was wild from the get-go.

  165. Debaser says:

Got my money’s worth out of mlb.tv tonight. This is the 1st time I’ve watched games other than the buccos (cards and brewers) in the 3 years that I’ve had it. It’s nice to be able to scoreboard watch in July!

  166. JMB says:

    @Joe Bucco

yeah, we need their $$$. The more fans on the wagon, the better chance of a Cutch ext, and the better chance of not losing our dudes in the future.

  167. Dock Ellis says:

@JoeBucco: Yeah, let them on the bandwagon, but feel free to haze those rookies.

  168. CDBrewer says:

    @DK,

I wasn’t sure you meant THAT Polcovich HR…I was there, in Philly, with my Grandparents.
If you remember, he missed a squeeze sign the pitch before (or whoever was on third blew it)…Pop was ready to kill him. Then wham.

That was the day Daulton was traded – he came out and said goodbye to everybody in Philly.

  169. CDBrewer says:

    @JoeBucco

Last night saw one Pirate hat on my walk around Green Lake in Seattle…
    Today I saw two!
    Mine makes 3.
    IN SEATTLE!

    Kinda like Alice’s Restaurant – it’s a movement!

  170. Mike C. says:

I’ll admit i only watched a few games here and there in the past, mostly just read up on em following DK (long time silent follower btw), the blogs etc.
but gotta say this year has been fun following the team day to day. just sucks that when i moved out here last year the Buccos are worth watching every single game, which i can’t.
thank god for my MLB iphone app which i sneak peak at work all morning hehe.

I live out of town so don’t get to see many games. Sad to say I got to see the Wednesday game with the Astros. But even then the stadium seemed to have a lot more buzz than my recent visits. Let’s go Bucs

    Bakersfield

2 Pirate hats in the gym yesterday. A few here and there in the grocery stores.

Sleeper Cells of Pirate fans are ready to join the fray all over America!

  173. CDBrewer says:

    @JMB

    LOL…sleeper cells…lol

  174. JoeBucco says:

    @JMB – yep, exactly.

@CD – that is awesome. It truly is becoming the cool little secret that everyone wants to be in on. We’re right there on the verge.

And as for Cordero. I was mad, but now all is forgiven. You’ve only delayed the inevitable. I think we’ll get to 1st place at some point this season, if not tomorrow. You just keep tanking for the Reds. We’ll take care of our own business.

  175. aglebagel says:

Watching the replay of that homer with Brown’s call seriously almost makes me emotional. Almost. If we get into the playoffs this year in some dramatic fashion, I’m gonna be a wreck…

  176. Dock Ellis says:

I see Bucco hats all over the place here in L.A… but I think it’s a gang thing :/

I just hope my gold hat and I can stay out of the wrong neighborhoods long enough to see McCutchen in the All-Star game.

  177. pipecock says:

I sat in PNC for the entire 20-0 game last year. Compared to tonite’s game which I was lucky enough to attend, I can hardly believe that was only 15 months ago. What an amazing team this is!!!!!

  178. JoeBucco says:

@DK – Maybe once this blog has some of its technical stuff worked out, we can get some spiffy little icons to point out who the original inmates are. You know, after we are flooded with the newcomers from all corners who go way back with this team. Back to June, that is. :)

  179. JoeBucco says:

@Dock – Re: Cutch in the all star game. No way Braun plays right? I would have to think Cutch gets the call to replace him. Has to, right?

  180. Thundercrack says:

Great win. Could not be happier for that kid McKenry.

(btw, guess which blog that I pay for will not let me log on. The error message I get says that my subscription is up. It isn’t —but it may be soon)

  181. JMB says:

TC mondo issues over there on a big night. Proxy errors, eaten posts, general wanky-ness.

  182. Dock Ellis says:

@JoeBucco: I dunno. I thought I read somewhere (probably from DK) that it would violate the players’ vote or something. Hopefully he gets the nod anyway. He hasn’t done anything since the teams were picked to diminish his value.

  183. Thundercrack says:

Pedro Ciriaco hasn’t played much, hasn’t produced much, and has taken a lot of crap from fans on these blogs. But boy did he come up BIG tonight.

Great play… and good for him.

    Special season.

  184. JoeBucco says:

@Thunder – Funny. I think mine expired about… oh, how long has DK been here now?

  185. Mike C. says:

    funny thing…
In Korea, I see a lot of MLB hats, but 66% of em are Pirates hats.
I found out later the kids here just wore em cause they thought the hats looked “cool”
    lol
so basically, it’s COOL to be a Pirates fan in Korea~!

    My favorite Bucco memories:
Sitting as a kid with my Dad on the couch watching Stargell & Parker win the ’79 series.
Listening to a recording of the radio broadcast of game 7 of the ’60 world series that my Dad had.
Going to game 3 of the 1992 NLCS with a bunch of IUP classmates to see Tim Wakefield get the win from Three River’s outfield seats.
Sitting with those same classmates at our apartment at IUP watching Francisco Cabrera’s dribble crush all hope (the entire building shook from everyone swearing at once, I swear no one on campus talked or even looked at each other for a week).
Staying downtown with my wife and kids and walking across the Clemente bridge to a game for the first time.
Going to the home opener with coworkers for the past several years.
Letting my 7 year old son stay up late last summer to watch a game with me only to witness Alvarez’s walk-off homer live (that hooked my sons on the Pirates).
Having my oldest son pick number 62 for his all-star team because we liked the hustle of Josh Harrison.
Riding home from my son’s all-star game tonight with my family and listening to that 8th inning on the radio.
Some of us may be new to blogging…but not to the Pirates. But I’ll admit, this is fun. Thanks DK.
