  1. JoeBucco says:

Need 2 out of 3 to avoid 90 losses, a bigger deal than you might think.

Plus, a big finish would sure make it easier to not talk about Miller Park streaks all the time next year. I’m in the house tonight trying to rally one final solid outing in 2011 from Charlie.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  2. Drew71 says:

53 degrees and rain? Good Gawd. It’s only freaking September.

Our overnight LOW will be 74. At about 4 AM.

Then back up to 90 tomorrow.

  3. Ryan(Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

Do we really need to end here? I hate the Brewers.

  4. Eric BlahBlahBlah says:

AGREED…but what do you think the chances are that we take even ONE game at the House of Horrors (btw Dejan, that is aptly named).

  5. Milo Hamilton says:

Andrew McCutchen is a late scratch. Ace pinch hitter Xavier Paul will be in CF.

  6. Sometimes Charlie Morton is Roy Halliday this season, and other times he is Ronnie Cedeno.

Looks like Ronnie Cedeno has shown up tonight thus far.

  7. Nic-ic-ice turn by Neil Walker!!!

And suddenly, after the bases are loaded, Halliday appears.

  8. Milo Hamilton says:

Isn’t it ironic that they basically invent a disabled list for Ryan Doumit & now it’s too late to put him on it.

  9. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

A big finish for the Pirates could go a long way toward exorcising the demons in Milwaukee.

Someone needs to pour a bottle of IC Light onto Miller Field…

    Disperse the curse!

  10. Steve Smith says:

All I can say is typical!

  11. Steve Smith says:

Could this game be any freaking longer!!!

  12. Milo Hamilton says:

Moving roughly at the pace of your typical Yankees / Red Sox game.

  13. Eric Bowser says:

This is what happens when your starting pitchers can’t go 6-7 innings and your bullpen isn’t very good.

  14. Steve Smith says:

Hurdle may have screwed the pooch by taking out the only guy that actually got 2 batters out this inning, and now they will be losing after the next batter. This was a big shame, but until this team starts countering the antics of the Brewers by beating them, they will continue to be too scared to make pitches and get hits. I know the game isn’t over yet, but you can’t give up 11 hits and 6 freaking walks to this team and expect to win. The Pirates have 11 hits and 5 walks themselves, but they have also left way too many men on the bases. DMac is pitching bad enough to walk in the winning (leading) run.

  15. Steve Smith says:

Lucroy actually helped us out there by swinging at ball 4, though he did get good wood on it. Luckily Chase made a nice stab at it. Lets see if we can answer for good in this game to actually win something in this building.

  16. Milo Hamilton says:

Through 6 innings, 260 pitches have been thrown.

  17. Milo Hamilton says:

They are showing this game to the prisoners at Gitmo. It’s replaced waterboarding.

  18. Is the bottom of the 7th the first 1-2-3 inning of the game?

  19. Playoffs by 2012 says:

This is gonna be a 5 hour game

  20. Playoffs by 2012 says:

That was a very John Franco-esque inning for Grilli.

  21. Milo Hamilton says:

OK, how do they blow this one ?

  22. Milo Hamilton says:

I feel like Clark Griswold when the all lights finally lit. Cue the Hallelujah Chorus.

  23. As the Gunner would say, “We had ‘em all the way!”

    4 hours, 15 minutes —— that’s what it’s like to watch a Red Sox/Yankees game, isn’t it?!
