Comments

  1. Milo Hamilton says:

That’s the fastest goal against the Pens from the start of a game, 8 seconds. Ross Lonsberry had the previous record at 9 seconds. Lonsberry played for the Pens for about 15 minutes.

  2. Eric Bowser says:

With Crosby and Malkin out of the lineup, it really illustrates how offensively inept Staal is as a center. He’s a solid penalty-killer, works hard but he’s not a great skater, average at faceoffs, can’t deke at all, and let’s just be nice and pretend passing skills are not a quality for a center to have.

Disappointing start to the season for Staal.

  3. Milo Hamilton says:

After Malkin went out last year, how many times did they come back from a two goal deficit ? This game’s over.

  4. Milo Hamilton says:

Going back to last year, this is the 40th game without Sid & Geno in the lineup (including the playoffs). They’ve been able to muster 3 goals 17 times.

  5. Eric Bowser says:

Need more from Letestu, Sullivan, and Staal

  6. Milo Hamilton says:

Is Dale Hawerchuk hurt tonight ?

  7. Eric Bowser says:

Penguins have had 4-5 great chances but nothing to show for it against Pavelec but a harmless shot from blue line by Michalek sneaks through to make it 2-1 game for Jets.

  8. Milo Hamilton says:

The last time the Pens won a game in which they trailed after 2 periods, Bill Guerin & Sergei Gonchar were on the team.

  9. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Wow. The Penguins game that I just watched featured two outstanding goaltending performances and thrilling end to end action.

Staal may not be scoring right now, but without him, the Pens give up another goal or two a game. His game presence is huge,

  10. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

The Pens have given up 1 goal shorthanded and have scored two goals shorthanded. The team is actually plus-1 on the penalty kill. This speaks volumes for Staal’s value.
