Looking ahead to faceoff …

Game: Penguins (4-2-2) vs. Montreal Canadiens (1-3-1)

Time: 7:08 p.m.

Site: Consol Energy Center

TV, radio: Root Sports, 105.9 The X.

Here is the official live summary.

News updates are on our Penguins page, including Brooks Oprik’s return. Rob Rossi and Josh Yohe are back on that beat.

  1. Milo Hamilton says:

Pens outshoot Montreal 16-8 in the 1st as Mr. October’s 7th has the Pens up 1-0.

  2. poz says:

Sullivan, early in the season, is suffering from the Neal disease of last year. Chances, but no scores. Sullivan is experienced enough to know he will soon find the net, perhaps not like Neal is now. But he will find the net. Keep playing your game Stevie. They will come.

  3. poz says:

I just saw the poll question come up. I live between baltimore and d.c.. As far as I’m concerned, today, caps are the biggest rival.

  4. Eric Bowser says:

Good evening so far, 2-0 Pens after goals by Neal and Vitale. Sullivan is “THIS” close to scoring a goal, it will come and when it does, it’ll probably be a hat trick.

First game watching les habitants and my oh my the scouting report was right, that team is sleep walking through games from an intensity perspective. They are shooting the puck but there’s no grit.

Unless you count PK Subban’s penchant for stombing on or around Jordan Staal.

  5. poz says:

Fleury has made some remarkable saves.

  6. poz says:

    Eric – you on?

  7. Milo Hamilton says:

This is apropos of nothing, but P.K. Subban is a menace. The St. Catherine’s Street Slicer.

  8. poz says:

Whoa…when apropos is dropped during a hockey game I’m dazed and confused. But it is fitting to mention him as it almost happened again. Good night all.

  9. Jandy says:

Milo ~ I was wishing someone would pop Subban, he’s a POS!

  10. Jolly Rodger says:

Well James Neal seems to have gotten over that disease just fine so Sullivan should be OK… Maybe he can play with Malkin or Crosby at some point, that seems to be the cure…
