Here is the official live summary.

News updates are on our Penguins page. Josh Yohe could have skated to work today.

  1. Famed soccer announcer Andres Cantor, if on Root Sports:

  2. Does anyone know the status of Crosby? I know he said this time it “isn’t as bad” as the last time. But I have no idea what that means. Is he even skating? Are we looking at months and not weeks? Tough being a fan when NHL teams are so secretive about injuries. Then again, maybe I should be more concerned about Crosby’s career long-term.

    And tonight no Staal.

About two weeks ago, I saw a lot of Pens’ fans talking like a Cup final was as sure as my next water bill. Today the team looks like a mash unit.

  3. First shot on Johnson. Could ou imagine what might have happened if we were back in the time when goalies didn’t wear a mask?

  4. Two early turnovers by Orpik and the last leads to a penalty.

  5. I thought last year this forum was almost like a chat. Apparently not. And now I see that a comment “is awaiting moderation.” Not certain what that means, but since nobody is here – I’m logging off.

  6. Root Sports is now missing the live fights instead of the goals.

  7. Congrats Pascal Dupuis… 700th game!

  8. Spezza score first goal… 25 seconds into 2nd period.

    1-0 Sens.

  9. Greening with that goal. Spezza, Cowen assist.

  10. Sullivan answers a minute later. 1-1.

    Asham 200th assist.

  11. Spezza gets this one. 2-1 Ottawa @ 2:05 of the 2nd.

  12. Alfredsson @ 6:45 of second makes it 3-1 Ottawa

  13. Daugavins in the box for goalie interference. Pens on powerplay…

  14. Past half-way point. Pens back on power play again. 0-1 so far…

  15. Niskaanen brings Pens within one with the PP goal.

    3-2 Sens

  16. Another PP for Pens. Alfredsson high sticks Asham. 2 min.

  17. Malkin quick goal ties it 3-3!

  18. Cowen scores off a defender. 4-3 Ottawa.

7 goals in 13 minutes now!

  19. Carkner hit by own stick while interfering with Neal.

    Pens on PP again.

  20. As penalty ends Pens go shorthanded as Dupuis holds a stick

  21. Picard high stick on Smith at end of second period. 2 minutes.

    Sens on PP.

  22. Konopka scores with 5 seconds left in a crazy, crazy second period.

    5-3 Ottawa after two.

  23. All 8 goals scored in second period. Sens 5 goals in 8 shots.

  24. Fleury in the 3rd? We’ll see….

  25. Called that one. Fleury in the net at start of 3rd.

  26. Martin off the ice with leg injury.

  27. Neal hit in the face, leaves the ice.

  28. Neal returns to bench. Martin still off…

  29. Malkin misses an empty net opportunity as goalie is trapped out front.

  30. Off topic, but from this morning–seems official–Birch has the the team and Pitt.

  31. Spezza on odd-man break w/ Alfredsson. 6-3 Senators

  32. Neal in box for goalie interference. Game slips away for good…. 7 minutes left…

  33. Despres called for slew-footing Foligno… Foligno leaves ice severly hobbled. Left leg…

  34. Pens hitting more posts than a fence builder.

  35. Kunitz gets Pens 4th goal… if it is a good goal… possibly scored with a high stick,., 1:09 to go…

  36. Final: Ottawa 6, Pittsburgh 4

    No word on Martin’s status.

Defense severely depleted right now and it’s cause for concern.
