… And Dejan breaks thru! Blog up and running!

  2. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Will the game start on time?

    Someone turn on the lights…

  3. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

I guess thats what you get when you name a stadium CANDLESTICK Park

  4. Dan says:

Curtis Brown sitting? There isn’t anyone else to sit? He has been a special teams animal, and Ginn is pretty good… Weird move.

  5. JAL says:

It’s Monday Night Football–Ghost of Dandy Don must have started singing Turn out the lights

  6. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

INT not because of Ben’s ankle… just great coverage.

  7. Milo Hamilton says:

Something to worry about. These guys love to run the ball. And this year, you can have success on the ground against the Steelers. That could set the Niners up for their field goal based offense.

  8. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

3-0 Niners. Impressive drive fizzles inside the 5 yard line.

  9. Milo Hamilton says:

David Akers has 37 field goals & 43 touchbacks. Good for him, his 7 year old daughter is a cancer survivor.

  10. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Another INT for Ben thru Heath’s fingertips…

  11. Milo Hamilton says:

Steeler turnovers.Gore runs the ball effectively. Hit the tight end. Sounds like opening day in Baltimore.

  12. JAL says:

Ben not throwing well so far. First int was bad decision, 2nd was high throw though could have been caught.

  13. Milo Hamilton says:

49ers have to be very uneasy right now. Could be more if not for Frank Gore’s hands of stone. Oh yeah, and Alex Smith still stinks.

  14. Milo Hamilton says:

Leave it to Jerry Brown to schedule a rolling blackout during Monday Night Football.

  15. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    James Harrison:

“If I can’t play, then can’t nobody play… Lights out!”

    via Twitter

  16. Milo Hamilton says:

Here is the rulebook section governing this situation. I really like the part about rescheduling for the following Tuesday.

  17. Milo Hamilton says:

I can’t help but think that somehow, someway, Kim Jong Il is involved here.

  18. Milo Hamilton says:

On consecutive nights, in nearly 6 quarters of football, the Steelers & Ravers have yet to force the opposition to punt. Not even once.

  19. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Jon BonJovi found dead today… possibly cardiac arrest. Unbelievable.

  20. Milo Hamilton says:

Dave – That Bon Jovi thing isn’t true. Bad rumor on twitter.

To repeat – Jon Bon Jovi not dead.

  21. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Sorry bout that then. Apologies for passing that on…

  22. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Ben could have done better with the clock at the end of the half. Might have cost the Steelers three points.

  23. Milo Hamilton says:

Ever get the feeling it’s not your night ?

  24. Milo Hamilton says:

Mike Pereira says via twitter that was not a penalty on the punt play. “SF #30 initiated the contact & that should take the foul off. Not a good call in my mind.”

    There’s a shock.

  25. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Yes (See Bon Jovi posts above…)

  26. Milo Hamilton says:

I think his hand hit OB before the 2nd foot. But they owe us one. Walt Coleman has proven he’s at least partially blind tonight.

  27. Milo Hamilton says:

This FG is too long. Go for it.

  28. Milo Hamilton says:

OK. Now we know is range. That messed up end of the half is looking really bad here.

  29. Milo Hamilton says:

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that the Steeler offense isn’t good enough to carry this particular Steeler defense to a championship.

  30. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

    Hang in there, Milo

  31. Milo Hamilton says:

What was that call ? At least the Steelers aren’t alone in sucking tonight. Time to put Ben on ice.

  32. Milo Hamilton says:

Pereira confirms another blown call on the “leaping” foul against Timmons.

  33. Milo Hamilton says:

It is complete insanity for Ben Roethlisberger to still be in this game.

  34. Dave G in Mason, OH says:

Lights are out again… this time for good.

Ben nowhere near 100 percent, but Niners are a good team.

  35. Nate says:

An injured Ben, combined with a careless-with-the-football Ben, is a losing combination. Doesn’t help that almost every call went against us, but can’t blame the officials really.

  36. Milo Hamilton says:

That one on Redman may have been the worst call of the night. Pereira – “That is not a chop block you want called. Not a good night.”

  37. Milo Hamilton says:

There have been 2 “must” games against quality teams this season – the 2nd Baltimore game & San Francisco. Just needed to win one. Lost them both. Tebow time – January 7th.

  38. Nate says:

I’ll take Tebow in the first round, although you never know what’s going to happen in the last two weeks. AFC West is completely up for grabs, as Denver is anything but a sure thing. The Steelers could win out and the Ravens could lose to a desperate Bengals team – giving the Steelers the division title.. Houston has the easiest schedule, but also a rookie/young QB.

We’ll see, but any way you look at it, a disappointing loss tonight. Ben did his best Tino Sunseri impression.
