Checking in here post-game since Dejan took the effort to start this thread (I was watching it on NHL Network)…
Pens 5, Montreal 4 (SO)
Tremendous third period comeback effort for the victory.
Dustin Jeffrey two goals and an assist!
Malkin with the game-tying goal in the third plus the shootout winner.
And our ice storm down here is just now picking up some intensity. Several hours of freezing rain expected. Ugh.
Good win for the Pens and a much needed day of rest to prepare for the Caps. The Caps game will be another “test” for this “new” pens team who have been owned by the capitals. As usual, despite the fact that Martin is playing a very little better of late, this Michalek/Martin pairing is shaky at best. And I hope that Shero does something before the tradeline to bring in a real shutdown defenseman.
On a side note, glad to see that someone in the Pittsburgh press industry isn’t afraid to do some “real” journalism and stir things up a bit! Good job DK! I hope you continue to write and report on both sides of the stories. The Pittsburgh fans deserve that much!
The PG reports that the NHL fined Subban $2,500 for “dangerlously tripping” Kunitz last night. That was fast action on the part of the league!
Dejan,
I’m confused. How can you be deemed “the hockey-loving columnist” when you don’t know where the rink is/was?
It must be one of those love-at-first-sight things, after Craig Adams explained the game to you!
