Comments

  1. JohninOshkosh says:

According to my TIVO guide, the game will be televised live on MLB Network at noon (central)

  2. Pedro Alvarez says:

Bats, they are sick. I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar, rum. He will come…

  3. JuniataKid says:

    Jandy,

In case you don’t go back to the prior thread, the answer to the Juniata question is yes. Most think it’s the college. You’re the first to recognize it. Now I’m intrigued…

  4. Milo Hamilton says:

    @Pedro

Hats for bats. Keep bats warm.

  5. Fillet_Mimnaw says:

    @Pedro and @Milo

Don’t reenact scenes … with Charlie Sheen:

  6. Jandy says:

@ Juniata ~ being from the area, I think Juniata the town first…then the college ;)

@Pedro, better throw in some chewin’ tobacco too, or Jobu won’t answer your prayers!

  7. Milo Hamilton says:

Maybe Cerrano should have considered Allstate to insure his bats.

  8. Dan1283 says:

    This comment thread is spectacular.

Keep me updated on the game, boys!

  9. JoeBucco says:

@Pedro – watching last night’s game, straight ball seems to be giving you fits too.

Now… ball on tee, I’m sure you can beat the snot out of.

  10. JohninOshkosh says:

It’s both unbelievable and wonderful that the Major League baseball season starts for real in less than 24 hours! Even if it is the A’s and M’s.

  11. Jandy says:

This is a test of the emergency broadcast system.
No posts showing up on my end since 12:35 pm and it’s now 1:39 pm.

  12. Fillet_Mimnaw says:

Not much to report unless anyone wants to talk about Pedro’s K with a man on second and 1 out or Resop’s 8 pitches in the first inning to 6 batters. Talk about efficiency. Only one batter saw more than one pitch and he saw three strikes for a K.

  13. Fillet_Mimnaw says:

Ok. Make that 15 pitches for Resop through 2 innings with three, three pitch Ks. I don’t believe he has thrown a ball yet.

  14. Jandy says:

Fillet, thanks for responding…I was wondering if the site was down.
Good for Resop. Happy to see him pitching well.

  15. Black n Gold (not yellow) says:

I always heard that Clint Hurdle was supposed to be a good hitting coach. Here’s my question.

WHY IN THE HECK ISN’T PEDRO ALVAREZ CLOSER TO THE PLATE?!?!?!

That last strikeout, AGAIN, proved it. He was on plane, on time, and COULDN’T REACH THE BALL!!

A batter should be able to cover the outside corner and HE CAN’T. Someone find a direct line to the dugout and say something. PLEASE!

  16. Fillet_Mimnaw says:

Something tells me MLB Gamecenter may not be showing everything in the pitch-by-pitch section. Not sure my previous posts are valid pitch numbers.

    Sorry folks.

  17. JAL says:

    Fillet_Mimnaw

MLB gamecenter is never right in the spring. They should not even show pitch counts because they just mislead people.

  18. JohninOshkosh says:

Pedro is up. Top of the fifth. Fouled 1-2 pitch off foot. Not hurt. Base hit. Liner 5th hit of spring

  19. JohninOshkosh says:

    Thr 4.5 innings. Phils 3-0.

  20. JohninOshkosh says:

The closer is in for Buccos. PA lined a 1-2 fastballl straight down Federal street in the top of 5

  21. JohninOshkosh says:

Alvarez boots a Polonco grounder with a lot of top spin

  22. JohninOshkosh says:

Abreu, running for Polonco steals 2d

  23. JohninOshkosh says:

    Now he steals third!

  24. JohninOshkosh says:

Force Abreu in run down. He was going on contact. 2 outs

  25. JohninOshkosh says:

Thome grounds out 4-3. Would have been a base hit if Raymond Burr was running, but it was Thome 3-0 Phils through 5

  26. JohninOshkosh says:

Hanrahan looked good. Not rattled at all by the two steals.

  27. JAL says:

Some nice D after the error

  28. JohninOshkosh says:

Presley leads off 6 with a very soft flare. 3 hits off Lee

  29. JohninOshkosh says:

Double play. Sarge uses cliche “Pitchers best friend.”

  30. JohninOshkosh says:

Tabata up. Pretty blonde sitting above 3 base dugout. Groundout. Inning over. Lee looked very solid today.

  31. JohninOshkosh says:

    3-0 Phils thru 5.5

  32. JohninOshkosh says:

Igarashi now pitching for Bucs. Gives up lead off double to Nix

  33. Milo Hamilton says:

Pedro’s new “walk up” music for the 2012 season, courtesy The King -

  34. JohninOshkosh says:

Base hit and error by Fox in left lets run score. 4-0 Phils

  35. JohninOshkosh says:

Double play on line drive to first. Doubled up runner on 2d

  36. JohninOshkosh says:

Phils going to let Lee hit. Will not pitch in top half. Doubles! Runners now on 2 and 3

  37. Jandy says:

    LOL Milo!

  38. JohninOshkosh says:

    Victorino grounds out 3-1. 6 complete. 4-0 Philly bata**s

  39. Jandy says:

I see the Bucs have 2 errors. And only 3 hits to Philly’s 9.

  40. JohninOshkosh says:

Day done for Lee. Kyle Kendrick now pitching for Phil

  41. radio wave says:

    J in Oshkosh
thanks for the pbp, I came in late.
And thanks for the mention that the mlb season officially starts tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. with A’s vs. M’s in Japan. Can’t believe between the 2 of them, they lost 3 of four to the Japaneese league teams.

  42. JohninOshkosh says:

Cutch with infield hit. He was smoking down the line and made Abreu pay. What a player

  43. JohninOshkosh says:

No prob RW DJ Jazzy Jeff will be at Phils opener. No Will Smith per Phil announcers

  44. JohninOshkosh says:

    Navarro hbp on elbow

  45. JohninOshkosh says:

PR (Singer whoever that is) for Navorro PA is up

  46. JohninOshkosh says:

    Sorry about misspellings

  47. JohninOshkosh says:

PA looks at strike 3. Very fooled. 2 0uts

  48. Jandy says:

    Lookin at ‘em again…

  49. JohninOshkosh says:

PA struck out on 1-2 pitch that came back over the plate. GI Jones up

  50. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Pay-dro gets caught loitering at the plate…again

  51. JohninOshkosh says:

the Legend looks at strike 3. 2 are LOB. Phils have some pitchers! Still 4-0

  52. Jandy says:

Wish they had left Hague in…

  53. JohninOshkosh says:

Hughes in for PBC. Gets a pop up after possible throwing at batter for Navarro (doubt it though)

  54. JohninOshkosh says:

1 out hit for Scotty Pods.

  55. JoeBucco says:

So 2K’s and an error for Pete for the second game in a row?

  56. JohninOshkosh says:

    Through 6.5. 4-0 Philly Bastar**

  57. Milo Hamilton says:

    @John

Scotty Pods ? I thought Hawk Harrelson snuck in here for a minute.

  58. JohninOshkosh says:

Speaking of which, Bastardo is now pitching for Phil

  59. radio wave says:

They are almost the hitless wonders again. Looks like a lot of last years issues have resurfaced in 2012.

  60. JohninOshkosh says:

Milo; I was busy looking for his wife in the stands. Slipped into Hawk mode. Nate is up. Lefty against lefty

  61. JohninOshkosh says:

McClouth Takes a walk Good as a hit according to JAL stats that he gave me last week

  62. JohninOshkosh says:

Nate to second. Fox with groundout to first, unassisted

  63. JohninOshkosh says:

Harrison golfs a pop up to the aforementioned Scotty Pods. He gone!

  64. JohninOshkosh says:

Nick Evans drives in Nate on 2-1 pitch. 4-1 Phils. Leadoff walk scores again

  65. Jandy says:

    Woah! That’s two runs!

  66. Jandy says:

Well, Osh Kosh B’Gosh, the Bastardo is gone ;)

  67. JohninOshkosh says:

Fryar doubles. Play at the plate but Abreu’s relay well up the first base line. Evans scores. 4-2 Phils. New pitcher coming up for Phil

  68. JohninOshkosh says:

Meant Fryer. Damn fast typing. Anybody else as sick of the Kate Upton/Justin Verlander ad as me?

  69. radio wave says:

What do they call this, a rally?

  70. JohninOshkosh says:

    McGehee doubles. Now 4-3

  71. radio wave says:

    Whot is Curt Singer?

  72. Jandy says:

rw ~ sumpin like that ;)

  73. JohninOshkosh says:

Is Kirk Singer old enough to shave. Geez.

  74. Jandy says:

    Lordie a tie game lol

  75. Jandy says:

LMAO Osh Kosh, if he hits, who cares?

  76. JohninOshkosh says:

Gets a base hit and the kid gets an rbi and we are tied. 4 run 8th for the Good Guys

  77. radio wave says:

OK, Kirk, Curt, whatever, he got an RbI, and our regulars have a hard time doing that.

  78. Jandy says:

And all this on two outs? Amazing.

  79. radio wave says:

    PA the rally killer.

  80. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Pay-dro caught loitering…again…and again.

  81. Jandy says:

Oh a stolen base too. love this.

  82. JohninOshkosh says:

And PA strikes out looking! 3 K’s

  83. Jandy says:

    LOL PA killed it.

  84. Milo Hamilton says:

    @John

    “He gone”. LMAO.

  85. JohninOshkosh says:

Pedro acted like the call was wrong. Big sign of a frustrated hitter. I gotta pick up my kids at school so signing off. I’ll leave the house with the image of Pedro looking at strike 3

  86. radio wave says:

Another unknown Chris Johnson pitching, hope he gets 3 k’s.

  87. radio wave says:

    Thanks John, great stuff.

  88. radio wave says:

Ground out to Singer, one out.

  89. radio wave says:

  93. radio wave says:

Harrison snares it behind second, thrown out at first. After eight, we are tied at four all.

  94. radio wave says:

Papelbon in relief for Phils. He can’t use the dropkick murphy’s music anymore, I wonder what he will choose?

  95. radio wave says:

    signing off, thanks.

  96. JAL says:

Singer is 29th round draft choice last year, played at State College and didn’t hit much but pretty good defensive player.

  97. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Nothing quite like watching one 1st Round pick get k’ed 3 times and another give up the walk-off winner. #stopdraftingnow

  98. JAL says:

Two out homer by a guy who rarely hits home runs, had to be a bad pitch
