  1. Naje says:

Great piece on Milbury and his mouth…can’t believe the guy has a forum. Can’t believe the NHL wants his mentality to be a central figure of their programming.

    Idiots are as idiots do…

  2. Tonight Bucs go for their 20th Spring Training loss prefacing what could/should be their 20th straight losing season. Symmetry.

Please remind me that Spring Training does not matter! Please!!

  3. JohninOshkosh says:

    Yay!!!!

Next thread Dejan opens for the Pirates after this one will be: On Location: Opening Day !!

    “…and there was much rejoicing.”

  4. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Spring Training doesn’t matter.

  5. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

DK-Any idea what JMac’s pitch count is for today?

  6. JAL says:

    Ryan

Should be around 100. That is what they want pitchers to hit when the season starts. Since he won’t pitch again for about a week it would no problem to hit 100.

  7. David says:

Interesting lineup tonight, could it be a preview of what we will see in games 2 and 3 of the Phillies series. Two tough lefties there and we know Jones will sit and NH has said Alvarez and Presley will sit against lefties some as well.

  8. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Kinda what I figured JAL.

    So who stays, who leaves??

  9. JAL says:

Moskos was optioned to Indy today so it down to Hughes, Leroux, Harrison, Hague, and Navarro

  10. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

Missed the Moskos demotion, which wasn’t a surprise.

So that means no lefties in the BP??

  11. JAL says:

    Watson is the lefty

  12. JAL says:

When the sent Moskos down that pretty cemented Watson on the 25

  13. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

I thought he got sent down earlier.

  14. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

For comparison, look at the expected winning teams with lower than .500 records in ST.

    NL:
    Reds
    Phillies
    Marlins
    Diamondbacks
    Braves
    Nationals

    AL:

    Indians
    Rays
    Rangers
    White Sox

Add the fact that the A’s, Twins, (terrible last year) Mariners, Cubs, Rockies and Padres are above .500

Granted, none of those teams have the history of the Pirates, but do you think Joe Madden of the Rays is worried about their record right now. Or do you think the Brewers are worried that Ryan Braun is batting .095 right now??

  15. JAL says:

    Ryan

You are probably thinking about Justin Wilson, not Tony Watson

  16. Ryan Braun is batting .095 because he has to lay off the juice for at least a season to try and repair his poor image.

Mid season form already with the 1st and 2nd with no out and they do not score.

  17. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

@Steve- I was going to make that comment as well…I hate that guy.

@JAL- Why do I always confuse those two? You are correct.

  18. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

With the opening series coming up against Philly, the Buccos need to take advantage of the missing Ryan Howard and Chase Utley, unfortunetly, Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee are healthy. I would’ve liked to have seen Jeff Karstens get the opening day start, but this might be the only game Eric Bedard is healthy.

  19. Glad we don’t have to see Hamels early in the season. He is already at mid season form.

  20. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

I thought the same thing when I saw he was starting tonight.

  21. JAL says:

Was wrongf that Mac would go about 100 pitches–took him out after 3 innings.

  22. 2 out lightning is always good. 2-1 good guys!

  23. cosmo says:

Remember up until 1:35 Thursday the PBC is tied for the best record in the NL

  24. Bizrow says:

Thanks, cosmo, 1:35, I would have been an hour early

  25. Biz, don’t forget for season ticket holders this year they can get in earlier to watch the Bucs’ BP for a change.

  26. cosmo says:

Doesn’t opening day ceremonies start earlier. I want to be in park by 12:30
