  3. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Glad to see Ja-Ha in there again. Gotta keep some sort of momentum going.

    I thought the double by RC yesterday, he missed played/judged in RF, it was still a shot in a half though. Tabata might’ve been able to track that down, but I doubt it. Overall I thought he did ok and continues to get some hits, so gotta keep him there.

  4. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Playoffs

    Who’s on the mound?

  5. tmp444 says:

    Pup Night tonight!!!! And, yes, I will be there with my crazy, psycho, 2 year old lab.

    I know, I’m just feeding the Nutting bank roll. But, eh, what the heck. While my wife controls the psycho, I’ll enjoy seeing J-Mac pitch in person for the first time this year, a knuckleballer, and Pedro play DH, ahem, 3B.

    @playoffs: Over/Under tonight – number of dogs that run onto the field at 1.5? ;)

  6. JMB says:

    Dickey 40 k’s in 50 IP.

    @Playoffs –I’ll take the over.

  7. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Must be Dickey then…put me down for 40 on the under please.

  8. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    @JMB, how many units on the OVER?

  9. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    @Ryan, you got it, good luck!!

    @tmp444, I’ll put 100 on the UNDER ;)

  10. nate83 says:

    I’ll put 20 on the under. Thanks.

  11. tmp444 says:

    @playoffs: my first venture to the window — 25 on the OVER. Pedro won’t see a fastball from him.

    (and 100 on my own UNDER ;))

  12. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    I dont think anybody will see a fastball from him……though I think he does throw harder han Wakefield.

  13. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Tmp444, the window welcomes you, good luck and enjoy the game!!

    Nate, you got it, good luck!!

  14. bob hasis says:

    Playoffs, your over/under has captivated this blog. I think you do a terrific job of setting the line, whether or not external agencies provide assistance is irrelevent.

    Tonight’s proposition is intriguing and I would like to stick a toe in your pool. If I may, I would like to say 25 over.

    How about this for a sidebar? Pedro and Barmes together o/u 4.5 K’s. I’d say over again.

    I’m just sayin’.

  15. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    @bob

    Thank you for the kind words. The window welcomes you, and wishes you good luck!! Also the window has no outside help. The window is just a fan of the Pirates, a fan of DK, and a fan of games of chance. Put all 3 together, and POOF, you’ve got the daily OVER/UNDER for the Bucs on DK’s Blog.

    P.S. – I’d easily put 50 on the OVER for what you suggested.

  16. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    I’d stay on the under……..

  17. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    I honestly feel that Barmes is coming out of his shell, if you will. He’s had decent AB’s and put together a couple of solid hits.

    His game winning RBI last night was the epitomy of a veteran AB. Get wood on the ball, look for something up to drive or get to the OF. He did that. Great AB.

  18. bob hasis says:

    Remember, Dickey throws a knuckler a lot, like 75 per cent of the time. He’ll have Barmes looking like a whirling dervish – I have no idea what that is.

  19. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @bob

    Maybe its a good thing?

  20. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Not like Barmes is a rookie. I’m sure he’s seen his share of knuckleballers……have some faith, he’s turning the corner.

    BTW, am I the only one that thinks Gorkys is Ronny Cedeno’s twin brother?

  21. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    DK

    “And here is the Pirates’ lineup vs. New York knuckelballer R.A. Dickey”

    Did you just recently add this line or am I blind?

    DK: Opposing pitcher is new, that’s all. Eyesight 20/20.

  22. Naje says:

    The hitter’s creed v. a knuckleballer:

    “If it’s high, watch it fly. If it’s low, let it go.”

  23. Bizrow says:

    I need a win, playoff 40 on under.

    Actually I think the only over on 1.5 for Pedro is homers tonight ;-)

  24. Bizrow says:

    whirling dervish

    I think one definition is you swing and miss so bad, you screw yourself into the ground…..

  25. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Bizrow, you got it. Good Luck!!!

  26. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    @JMB, still need to know how many units you wish to put up.

  27. cosmo says:

    playoffs by 2012,

    put me down for 30 over.

  28. cosmo says:

    l
    Listening to the game on radio last night, somehow got thinking back to my younger years and remembering some of the sayings and catch phrases the Gunner used to use in his broadcasts. WE NEED A HOOVER, Just missed by a gnat’s eyelash,
    can of corn, like a bug on a rug, you can kiss it goodbye, put some chicken on the hill with Will, and of course “WE HAD’EM ALL THE WAY”. I know i’m probably forgetting some. Maybe some of you know some others and I’m sure there are some saying Who is the Gunner?

  29. JMB says:

    @Playoffs

    20.

    thanks!

  30. SlackBoss says:

    D’Arnaud and JoJo Reyes pulled after one inning in AAA game today. Interesting. D’Arnaud pulled top of first after getting a hit. Reyes after pitching the required one inning for an announced starter.

  31. RobertoForever says:

    Good info Slack Boss. Great looking out.

    Maybe D’arnaud replacing Gorkys? Maybe Jo-Jo coming up to replace Locke (who never got in?) Can’t see where those moves are going. Maybe no moves at all.

    Indy with another 6 run outburst on the road, winning 6-3. That’s 3 wins and 16 runs since they were “called out”

  32. RobertoForever says:

    Looked into the Indy game some more and Jo-Jo batted for himself in the top of the 2nd. Bunted into a double play. Maybe he was hurt on the bunt.

    Hague with his first HR of the year, leading off the 9th in a 1-run game. 2 for 4 and BA up to .277

  33. Milo Hamilton says:

    Roberto,

    Altoona’s won 7 in a row.

  34. @Playoffs, good one for tonight’s game. very difficult to make a choice. I will say 30 on the under. Thanks.

  35. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    JMB and cosmo, you got it, good luck!!!

  36. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Steve, you got it. Good Luck!!

  37. RobertoForever says:

    This only seems to come up when the organization has a tough day, so might as well throw it out now as well.

    Including the Pirates and the minors, 4 of the 5 organizational teams won yesterday, scoring 29 runs in the 5 games.

  38. NMR says:

    @Ryan

    Check out Pirate Prospects “Exploring the Arsenal” article on the Mets pitchers this series.

    Dickie is more than a soft tossing knuckleballer. Looks like he throws it anywhere from the high 60′s to low 80′s and can get his fastball into the mid 80′s. Has a couple other pitches, too.

    Honestly sounds like a nightmare to hit.

  39. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    I am a big d’Arnaud fan. I know his bat is weak at this point, but I see a lot of potential.

  40. GlassHalfFull says:

    @Cosmo,

    Re The Gunner-Time for a bloop and a blast..maybe that will be JaHay and PA tonite.

    @Playoffs,

    I’ll dip my toes in in your pool….under for 22.5

  41. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Who isn’t a nightmare to hit with this club?

  42. Milo Hamilton says:

    On this day in 1998 the Mets traded for Mike Piazza.

    Wow, they must have allowed trades in May back then.

  43. LuckyNKentucky says:

    Cosmo,

    Don’t forget “hidden viggorish”, his term for the Law of Averages. He also referred to some of Roberto’s ailments as “mythical” although not as a catch phrase or anything like that.

  44. LuckyNKentucky says:

    Roberto,

    Shouldn’t mention Indy when they’re winning if we can’t mention them when they’re shut out 4 in a row. Seriously, Mercer is at .294 and Clement .284 after today. Chase is only hitting .185. Needs to find his stroke. I think he may be the future, but the now should be Mercer, especially not Gorkys. Mercer could be mentored by Barmes…….

  45. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Milo

    Big trades don’t happen in May….but people can “try.”

  46. pattonbb says:

    @Playoffs – 20 on the under. Pedro makes contact tonight!

  47. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    @GlassHalfFull, welcome to the window, good luck!!

    @patonbb, you got it and good luck!!

  49. JRay3 says:

    Greetings fellow fans from Denver, where it humors me to listen to the sports talk out here rip the Rockies and are stating thankfully they have OTA’s to talk about. Just when we gripe that we have it bad there is a market / team that has it much worse.

    @ Playoffs- another good one tonight…time for me and the Bucs to keep our streaks going…45 on the under please.

    Alright fresh off the big win last night time to pounce on the ‘ol knuckler early tonight…Let’s Go Bucs!

  50. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    JRay you got it, good luck!!

  51. RobertoForever says:

    @Lucky,

    Seriously? Everyone DID mention them when they were losing, and calling them light hitting, even though it was not representative of the season. I am all for talking about the minors. Especially if it is in a good balanced light and not used to try to ‘prove’ something in the majors, especially using data in an improper light.

    So, are you saying that you recognize that the short 5 game streak was not representative? Otherwise, me pointing this out now, is providing the balance that was lacking. I didn’t bring up the minors pulling out a non-representative few games.

    DK: Indy ranks at or near bottom of all International League offensive categories. How is that description of their offense out of context?

  52. RobertoForever says:

    14 years ago – I think that was before steroids. And last millenia. Probably is not the best example to try to prove a point about May trades. But keep ‘trying’, maybe you will stumble into some facts that actually help you lay a claim.

  53. Bizrow says:

    With the bashing that goes on with some bloggers, should I add the 7th planet from our sun to the list of where inmates live?

  54. egscoach says:

    @ Biz

    Economy, Pa. Really adds to it, doesn’t it?

  55. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Roberto

    #52-pointless.

  56. RobertoForever says:

    @playoffs

    Another tough decision. I feel like it could be a rough night for Pedro. But I will go with 10 on the under.

    Pirates have won 5 of their last 7 home games. Beat em Bucs.

  57. RobertoForever says:

    Ryan

    As is bringing up 1 trade from 1998. Pointless. I am glad you saw the parallel I was drawing.

  58. Milo Hamilton says:

    Chase d’Arnaud – strained left hip flexor.
    Jo Jo Reyes – Strained right hamstring.

  59. David says:

    hey can anyone tell me what happened to the steelers blog and comment area, its just distapeared from my steelerslive web page

  60. LuckyNKentucky says:

    Ryan,

    Makes you want to see what Smizik is doing sometimes.

  61. Milo Hamilton says:

    Someone missed their medication.

  62. David says:

    as for the Pirates win lastnight, that was a gutcheck there, proud how those guys hung in there and still played like it was a 0-0 ball game,,, looks like a nother good year so far, but we still play less than .500 ball, its just so frustrating to see a momentum swing only to see it kick back twice as hard if you know wht i mean, i mean we win 5 in a row, then lose 10 straight/////

  63. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Roberto, you got it, good luck!!

  64. RobertoForever says:

    More snide insults and attacks. Gotta love those types of comments. When random facts put forth as arguments are refuted, always resort to jr high humor.

    Awesome.

    Beat em Bucs.

  65. Milo Hamilton says:

    You’re welcome, Roberto. Happy to fill you in on the injuries.

  66. RobertoForever says:

    Aww Thanks, Milo. Glad to know you are posting those just for me.

  67. JaxBuc says:

    I’ll put 20 undefined units on the OVER for tonight. I’ll be happy to lose this bet though, if Pedro can hit a couple like that double in the corner last night.

  68. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Milo

    Now all the suspense has been removed!! I thought for sure Jo-Jo was coming up…..

    Sucks for Indy though with those injuries.

  69. RobertoForever says:

    Just looking at a draft article on MLB, and saw this comment posted by a Twins fan. Gotta love that support for their ‘plan’.

    “A 5-9″ pitcher is not a liabilty if your a Minnesota Twins front office executive. The Twins could save $1.47 on the actual material in producing his uniform. Factor this times 5 different uniforms per year X 7 years and the Twins could save $58.12 cents per year, this additional savings could allow Joe Mauer to make $23,000,058.12 per year. This could put the Twins over the top…”

  70. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    JaxBuc, you got it, good luck!!

    By the way we have 13 participants tonight. Another record for a single game. Thanks again to you all!!

  71. Milo Hamilton says:

    Those sad sack Minnesota Twins, only 27 post season games since 2002.

  72. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Roberto

    That is kinda funny.

    For those that only look at Bucco information would be blinded to the fact that almost all of MLB teams do exactly what the Pirates do, except hit of course.

    All teams have their struggles. Though only the big names of the Yankees, Red Sox, and Phillies get the play because they have the money to not have a plan. If they have a plan, its spend, spend, spend and sign, sign, sign. They have had a few hiccups along the way as well and a lot of their players are not “homegrown.”

    Anybody else happy that the Pirates didn’t enter the Carl Crawford sweepstakes. Follow the Rays model and you will succeed. The Twins have done this for years as well.

  73. Milo Hamilton says:

    Neil Walker should hit right handed tonight. Worked wonders for Bobby Bonilla.

  74. RobertoForever says:

    Ryan

    Agreed. I follow the Twins closely as one of my friends plays in the majors with them now, and I have 2 friends that are coaches in there minor league teams. They have done well with their plan. But they get attacked often, especially when they traded Santana and got even less then the Bucs got for Jason Bay.

    The fans are also restless, since they have been swept out of the playoffs the few times lately they have made it. They seem to be a snake bit franchise as well, as they can’t seem to keep both of the M & M boys healthy and hitting at the same time.

    But they are my AL team to root for, for obvious reasons.

  75. @Playoffs, what will you do if all 177 locations pony up to the window for some action? That would be a crazy night.

  76. RobertoForever says:

    @Milo

    Most Twins fans would say the Twins have not been “in” a postseason game since 2004.

  77. Milo Hamilton says:

    @Roberto

    True. But some of those games were close & they got beat in heartbreakers against the Yanks. I hope they can turn it around soon.

  78. RobertoForever says:

    @Milo

    I hope they turn it around soon as well.

  79. AJ Burnett has been pitching pretty good, but the biggest thing he has done so far this year has been taking JMac under his wing. JMac has been dealing this year. Keep it up!

  80. RobertoForever says:

    Wow, JMac striking out the side. Great start.

  81. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Roberto

    Imagine what Pirates fans would be like if they could switch roles with the Twins. Still be plenty to complain about.

  82. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    Looks like Ja-Ha should get another start tomorrow. I’ll take a 1-3, 1-4 type of guy out there right now…….

  83. Milo Hamilton says:

    @Ryan

    Hurdle said on the pre-game that Harrison will be in there tomorrow.

  84. RobertoForever says:

    Walks kill. Can’t walk hitters in the bottom third of the order. Need to be throwing strikes against those guys.

  85. Milo Hamilton says:

    Walker is indeed batting right handed.

  86. Milo Hamilton says:

    Willie Stargell said that hitting a knuckleball is like trying to eat soup with a fork.

  87. RobertoForever says:

    The gametracker must be off tonight. Both pitchers are seemingly getting inconsistent calls. Would love for the technology to be better. Hate seeing things that make you wonder what is going on. Maybe it is inconsistent umping tonight.

  88. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Milo

    Thanks, can’t listen to anything tonight because I have freakin’ class!! Stuck at work.

    Anybody willing to write a paper for me on financial concepts? Didn’t think so.

  89. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Milo

    Didn’t Orlando Merced stop switch hitting also, but I believe he stuck with the left side.

  90. Milo Hamilton says:

    @Ryan

    Yes he did. He was really bad right handed. Walker’s just doing it against the knuckleballer. I remember Bonilla hitting lefty against some soft tossing lefties like John Tudor occasionally.

  91. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    I do recall that as well.

    @roberto, you gotta be right about the tracker…..pitch right down the middle called a ball.

    Maybe C.B. Buckner is umping behind the plate.

  92. Milo Hamilton says:

    Kirk Nieuwenhuis looks like Dierks Bentley.

  93. RobertoForever says:

    Wow, 6 strikeouts in 3 innings. JMac is on a pace to obliterate his career high of 11 K’s. Oh btw, he set that career high in his last start. And he set a new career high of 10 K’s earlier in the season.

    Keep it up JMac

  94. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    I was thinking that last night.

  95. Milo Hamilton says:

    I gotta say it must be the tracker, guys. The only pitch I questioned so far was the 1st pitch to Cedeno. I thought that was a strike. Mike Everitt has the plate tonight.

  96. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    @Roberto

    Gotta watch that pitch count, NH wouldn’t allow a pitcher to go over that.

  97. Ryan (Nor-Cal Stlrfanrc) says:

    That’s a good thing, gotta be consistant.

    Gotta run to class fellas…..I’m sure I’ll be able to get back on.

  98. RobertoForever says:

    JMac at 62 pitches thru 4 IP.

    In his last 5 starts, he has thrown 86, 107, 99, 114 and 101 pitches. Means he could have 3 more good IP in him.

  99. RobertoForever says:

    ESPN just had an AFC North special. All 3 analysts – Marcellus Wiley, Herm Edwards and Bill Polian – had the Steelers at 3rd place in division.

    DK: That’s a little silly. Bengals, I can see. Not Ravens.

  100. bob hasis says:

    Ryan@20, you have company re; Gorkys & Cedeno. I made the immediate likeness last night when Gorkys stepped to the plate.

    Similar likeness to a whirling dervish and a Yu Darvish perhaps. Naw just a dumb play on words – by me

  101. LuckyNKentucky says:

    Who did they have ahead of the Steelers, other than the Ravens? Have to be Cincy. Couldn’t be the Clowns. When the Steelers win the division, they won’t remember this special and what they picked.

  102. LuckyNKentucky says:

    DK, you can’t be serious.

  103. Bizrow says:

    Economy PA and Uranus added to the homes of bloggers in the Lunatic Nation

  104. Bizrow says:

    Pedro has not K’d yet

    Still calling for a dinger or two from him

  105. Milo Hamilton says:

    Let’s all remind ourselves to predict next year’s baseball divisions on December 1st.

  106. Come on offense!! We can’t let the only run be scored due to two walks and an excuse me swinging base hit that scored the one.

  107. LuckyNKentucky says:

    Milo,

    Guess they didn’t like the Steelers’ draft as much as they said they did initially.

  108. You have to get this run home Cutch!!! JHay has three of the best hit balls off of Dickey all night. Barajas had another, and Jones hit one hard to center.

  109. Reading says:

    At least one guy wants to hit the ball!

  110. That works. 1-1.

  111. cosmo says:

    cutch, sac fly. 1-1

  112. RobertoForever says:

    Dejan,

    Agreed. Wiley and Edwards had the Ravens as #1.

    I can’t see it with T-Suggs out, and trying to get back.

    There was a LOT of Flacco love on that show. I had to fast-forward through much of it.

  113. PA 1 for 3 now with that single.

  114. RobertoForever says:

    @Lucky.

    Browns were last in all 3 scenarios.

  115. Bizrow says:

    Pedro took a pitch to left

    Re Steelers

    As long as Ben stays upright, my money is on them

    Spin from ESPN as per usual

  116. cosmo says:

    looks like harrison is trying to hithis way onto the everyday lineup.

  117. SlackBoss says:

    @bizrow – add Palm Beach Gardens, Fl to the list

  118. cosmo says:

    J Mac 8 K’s 105 pitches thru 7

  119. RobertoForever says:

    Good for J-hay. He is Da Man!

    Would love to see him be the spark plug on this team to rally the hitting.

    Lets Go Bucs! Get one more run for JMac

  120. RobertoForever says:

    Cedeno trying to imitate Adam LaRoche tonight. With alot less pop.

  121. I thought Jones hits Dickey pretty good. Not tonight.

  122. Five Bucs have 2 Ks each tonight, but PA has none. Time to get to the Mets bullpen since Dickey is now out of there.

  123. Officer Mancuso says:

    JMac has been seriosly rocking. Peavey learned that aiming for K’s is not optimal. Nice to see a Bucs starter who needs to learn that.

  124. No breaks tonight. 2-1 bad guys after Jones slowed the ball down heading to right field. May have had a play if he doesn’t get any glove on it. Doesn’t matter since Cutch had a bad read on the initial hit. No break there either. The slow motion camera showed the ball was in the upper part of his mitt, but popped out as he was running.

  125. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Is Watson hurt? If not, why isn’t the lefty in to face Duda and Davis?

    #Hurdled

  126. Game over after Pedro’s error. Had time just could not pick it up.

  127. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Locke is still there also, right? 2 lefties and he keeps a righty in to face a lefty in a tie game in the 8th inning?

    #Hurdled

  128. Milo Hamilton says:

    The minute they flash the graphic about errorless ball …

  129. RobertoForever says:

    Wow, I would not have bet that it was our bullpen that would struggle.

    Need a rally again tonight.

    Lets Go Bucs!

    DK: The bullpen? You’re not pinning this on the pen, are you?

  130. RobertoForever says:

    Watson pitched 2 days in a row. But Locke is in the bullpen, no?

  131. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    2 Lefties in the pen and he keeps a righty in to face a Left Handed batter in a tie game in the 8th inning……I just don’t get it. Anyone got an explanation for that?

    #Hurdled

  132. RobertoForever says:

    Lets go Cutch – Could use a big fly or big hit here.

    DK: Or a random pop hit to someone who plays for the Mets.

  133. Why was Cutch not running full speed out of the box. If he does he is on second. I know he thought it would be caught, and should have been, but it is a tougher play to make. We need that Pedro dinger right now.

  134. Milo Hamilton says:

    If Cutch was running hard out of the box, he’d be at 2nd right now.

    DK: Tough call to make if you’re not at the game, Milo. I’m not, either.

  135. Milo Hamilton says:

    Blass just asked if Andrew runs here. I just did a spit take. All over the laptop.

  136. RobertoForever says:

    Dejan,

    I can’t see the game, so all I can see is Juan Cruz walking 1 guy and giving up 2 hits. Certainly an error on Pedro added to it.

    I also have questions on the lefty bullpen use. But I don’t have the chance to ask Clint myself so I will have to depend on the credential media.

    If you are referring to the offense, anyone would like to see more than 1 run, but the Mets also have only 6 hits. Keeping the score tied, at 0-0 or 1-1 or 10-10 is the bullpen’s job.

  137. Milo Hamilton says:

    Dejan,

    I’m going solely on how high it was hit. And also past experience with Cutch.

    My goodness, he actually stole a base.

  138. RobertoForever says:

    For the record, Cutch was safe on that stolen base. Guess it was a good question by Blass.

  139. T.S. says:

    Cutch should steal second base right after he gets a single. Literally, right after he gets to 1st base. Don’t wait for the umps to call time in; just steal 2nd. This way he’s guaranteed 2nd, for Pedro will ground out weakly on the first pitch, as he is wont to do. Either that or steal 2nd while Pedro does one of his annoying-practice-swing-and-deep- breath combos.

  140. Milo Hamilton says:

    OK, let’s get this out there now. Frank Francisco stinks.

  141. RobertoForever says:

    C’mon Jonesy. Could use some legend stuff here

  142. Milo Hamilton says:

    WHIP over 2.00. Lefties hitting .351 against him. 10 walks in 17 innings. ERA over 7.00.

    Three up, three down.

  143. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    What a waste of some great pitching by J-Mac. I find it hard to believe that Hague can’t do better than Jones + McGehee combined.

  144. If it isn’t a pop-up, it’s a strikeout with most of this offense. They can’t keep AVERAGING 10+ Ks a game. They will find themselves at 10 games under if this keeps happening. No hitting and shoddy defense contributed to this loss. Once again they had a chance to get to either one game under .500 or to .500 and can’t do it. They were like this for a bit early last year, but once they made it above .500 they liked it for a while until the injuries added up and the depth became suspect. Let’s win the series tomorrow. Go Bucs!

  145. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Pedro only K’s once tonight and the UNDER wins. Thanks to everyone who played. See you bright and early tomorrow.

    Hurdle on the 8th inning, “We had three balls go off gloves that inning.”

  147. JRay3 says:

    Well another frustrating loss this evening. McLouth proves yet again why he needs to be DFA’d immediately, lifeless. Barmes just can not get anything going. Jones should have walked twice but instead was swinging at pitches all over the place to no avail. What does it say when outside of Cutch, Harrison and Barajas were the two in the lineup to get most excited about at the plate.

    Great game by J-Mac his consistency is very encouraging…bullpen did alright, defense did not aid them at all and Cruz was close on many of the pitches he missed on.

    @ Playoffs – #143 – what can it hurt? 1B production is just abysmal, make a run at Trumbo!

    Quick turn around still a chance to take the series and we face a Lefty where we have done well this season.

    And I get tired of some of the Hurdle quotes, how about manage the game, why do we even call up players if they are only going to shorten our team to a 22 man roster? Not using Locke versus the lefties, Gorkys just taking up space (if you don’t believe in him why is even on the big league club) but quick to use .143 McOut as a PH, just awful but hey I am glad to know three balls were deflected, GREAT!

  148. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Again I believe in giving credit where credit is due. The trade of Octavio Dotel for J-Mac and Andrew Lambo looks better and better every time J-Mac takes the mound. Even if Lambo never pans out, the Pirates got the better end of that trade.
