Everyone at the Mother ship picked Penn State to beat Navy. Could that be the kiss of death for Coach O’Brien?

  2. RobertoForever says:

Nice start for the Lions to get a long pass and then put it into the endzone. Of course there issue has not been starting, but rather finishing.

Great story around the young kicker Fickens this week. Community has really rallied around him.

And now they have put in another touchdown on a nice long pass and then move on the safety for a TD.

  3. RobertoForever says:

Up 20-0, with 3 and change left in the half, Bill O’Brien elects to skip a 27-yard FG atttempt from the middle of the field.

Its the 9th time that O’Brien has gone for it on 4th down this season, with 6 successes.

Of note, Fickens the young kicker did miss the extra point on the 3rd TD of the day. Pushed it just wide-right.

  4. RobertoForever says:

Apparently, even if the Senior kicker that transferred to Texas, Anthony Fera, would have stayed, the Lions would have had to depend on Fickens anyway.

Fera reported to the Longhorns camp in August with a nagging groin injury, and then reaggravated it, and has been out ever since. He has missed two weeks so far and is 50/50 this week or questionable. His replacement has been 3 for 6 of field goals with the longest being 38 yards.

  5. RobertoForever says:

    Lions win 34-7.

But apparently no one cared. Much like the Pirates win.

  6. dcpfjr says:

It was nice to see the “happy” back in “happy valley”. Congratulations to the players and coaching staff.

  7. Drew71 says:

No one cared about the Pirates win? There were 82 posts over there. On a Saturday. Even when they lose seven straight, there are often 200 posts for evening games.

There were that many two years ago when they won 57.

People react to historically long season losing streaks in different ways. That doesn’t mean they care any less than you do. The fact that they come back and complain year after year after year after year after…

In other words, if people don’t care about the Penn State game, that is nothing remotely like the Pirate game.

    Nothing.

DK: Drew, when you read those vengeful posts that accompany the Pirates’ now-weekly victories, do so with imaginary violin accompaniment.
