    Go Pens.

  2. Sarah says:

Duper! Holy cripes what a deflection! Awful TO behind the net for Buff…

  3. Sarah says:

PP! Wow….Heads up play from the point by Martin…..

  4. Jason says:

Loved your article about the whining from Ottawa, Dejan. It is nice to see a local columnist give a little bit of grief back for the over the top comments coming out of Canada. Well done, sir.

  5. radio wave says:

Can’t believe only three comments on this thread this far into the game worse Jandi

  6. Drew71 says:

I hope “worse Jandi” was a typo. For your sake.

  7. Sarah says:

    Yah where is everybody?

  8. Drew71 says:

It’s Sunday. No work to tune out. Blog playing takes a hit.

  9. Sarah says:

    Tanner glass, doofus penalty….

  10. Dadtackular says:

I’m much more into baseball than hockey. Do they practice deflections? Seems like the puck would be hard to guide. Separate note, Drew, what do you do for a living that requires a lot of travel?

  11. LuckyNKentucky says:

Jandy’s cooking for her whole household. Like Drew cooks for his.

  12. radio wave says:

True I’m using the voice dictate on my iPhone so it’s possible it’s misspelling what I’m intending to say

  13. radio wave says:

They made up for that bad penalty

  14. Sarah says:

Geez 11 Comments whole game! Oy. And Martin w the winner….he’s earning his salary this year.

  15. LuckyNKentucky says:

No Bowser and no Jandy. Comments dried up. Good win anyway.

  16. JohninOshkosh says:

    Four road goals.

  17. Drew71 says:

Don’t ever change. Typos = humor.

That is, until jandilicious sees it.

  18. LuckyNKentucky says:

Your Badgers creamed my Buckeyes today, John. OSU and KY are fading fast.

  19. Drew71 says:

    you BET she’s cookin.

are we talking about the same thing?

  20. JohninOshkosh says:

Weird season in the Big10, John. The Big 10 tournament ought to be very interesting.

  21. TJ says:

Nice win for the boys today. Hope they don’t bounce off these 2 wins with a couple sleep walking efforts.

  22. radio wave says:

    Oshkosh:
will the real UW please stand up?
And the Hawkeyes just beat the Golphers by 21 at Iowa City. Should be a crazy big ten tourney.

  23. Drew71 says:

Work for an integrated health system. Integration means health care + health insurance. If you are in Pittsburgh, similar to UPMC’s hospitals plus insurance. Same concept except we’re smaller.

My System is on the east coast of central Florida: Melbourne, Rockledge, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral area. I live in Cocoa Beach during the work week. My house-dogs-wife are on the Gulf Coast, north of Clearwater Beach, where I commute to/from on weekends. So the travel is mostly a weekly commute.

Add 4 or so conferences, occasional travel to major clients HQed elsewhere and lots of day trips and occasional overnights to work with another health system with which we’re about to start a joint venture, and you have the totality of the travel. Mostly the weekly commute, though

  24. officer mancoso says:

    Go Pens!

  25. 21sthebest says:

Second most popular sport in Pittsburgh, y’know.

  26. LuckyNKentucky says:

    Well said.

  27. Sarah says:

Yknow I feel like a wet blanket but really they were inconsistent today…..good start, good finish….but pretty undisciplined the middle part of the game.
I guess after the last 3 yrs playoffs I look at these games and wonder “what if this was a playoff game v NJ?” Ugh….maybe not fair at this point in the season….
But they need to start putting together 60 mins.
    In the same game….

  28. Arriba Wilver says:

    :-P

  29. Eric Bowser says:

Missed the game for the most part as it was a free day with the wife and no kids. On our way home now after picking up kids at my parents in Kittanning.

I did dvr the game to watch after all are in bed.

  30. Drew71 says:

11-5-0. Their 22 points lead the conference.

Sure. All the other good teams have one, two or even three games in hand.

During a fatiguing season such as this, could that be a GOOD thing? This season is NOT a marathon. It is an exhausting 3xWeek interval training session.

So. As all teams exhaust themselves during this uniquely structured season, might it be a good thing to have fewer games remaining in the second half, as the even more exhausting playoffs approach?

I don’t know hockey like you folks. But I’m married. So I understand fatigue.

  31. LuckyNKentucky says:

One-third of the season, 11-5, translates to 33-15 and 66 points. I’m no hockey or math wiz, but that sounds pretty good to me.

  32. Sarah says:

Oh NO argument it is a great record…as was last yr….I just seem to see weaknesses now thru the Playoff-Prism…..if they played like this is post season….not good.
Sorry to be wet blanket! Just burned the last 3 years and fear more!

  33. Sarah says:

Let us know your thoughts….I see inconsistency and despite the W not especially happy….
    I know, buzzkill…sorry.

  34. LuckyNKentucky says:

I can see your concern. But I’m a Pirate fan, so it doesn’t take much to please me. :)

  35. Milo Hamilton says:

Here’s the way I’m looking at it. The playoffs don’t start for more than 2 months & this isn’t the team we’ll have in the playoffs. I’ll guess that you’ll see about a 25% roster turnover between now & then. I’m not going to concern myself on how they’re playing until after the deadline. Right now is about accumulating as many points as possible.

Today’s win was extra sweet because I watched the game in a Buffalo Wild Wings where a team of kids from outside Buffalo happened to be watching. They were making a ton of noise when the Sabres did something & it was nice to shut those brats & their parents up.

  36. Drew71 says:

    Heroically good post.

  37. Drew71 says:

So. Anybody up for an NBA All Star Game thread?

  38. Milo Hamilton says:

How about Craig Sager’s jacket ?!

  39. JohninOshkosh says:

    Over/Under on points: 300

  40. Milo Hamilton says:

Way to bring home a winner yesterday. :)

  41. JohninOshkosh says:

“Sports” columnist Dejan Kovacevic would rather write about curling than the NBA.

  42. JohninOshkosh says:

I saw you put the blame on me, buddy. In addition to pizza burning the roof of your mouth, that Russian meteorite is on me as well.

  43. Milo Hamilton says:

Hey, how’d you know about the pizza ?

  44. Jandy says:

    damn right

  45. Jandy says:

You guys crack me up! Jandy was actually watching the game while hubby played on the computer. He was looking up Ford Shelby’s that he’d like to buy. I told him to put out his red light ;)

  46. Jandy says:

    me too! >:/

  47. Jandy says:

Drew dahling, you missed me, admit it!

  48. Jandy says:

and on the face off again…he KNOWS better!

  49. Jandy says:

I cook a good bit on the weekends when I have more time…Just today tho, as the hubby had me in Delaware yesterday sheesh

  50. Jandy says:

True, tho, Sarah. Malkin conintues to make boneheaded plays. I can’t understand where his head is. I hope Bylsma finds out soon.
Duper was on his game today, tho. I thought Vitale looked pretty good.

  51. Jandy says:

Radio is lucky I like him :)

  52. LuckyNKentucky says:

Occasional travel to Fargo, ND or wherever you almost got snowed in a couple weeks ago. Or was that in Iowa?

  53. Sarah says:

Whoa milo 25percent roster turnover? Seriously, one in four gone?
Give us a prediction of what you’re foreseeing…..???

  54. Drew71 says:

    of COURSE

  55. Jandy says:

    awwwwwww :)

  56. JohninOshkosh says:

I think Gregg Popovich is the best coach in any of the four major sports. Can’t speak to curling.

Kyrie Irving already being referred to as the best point guard in the league. Don’t let Groat hear that.

  57. Jandy says:

    Spunky missed me too!

  58. LuckyNKentucky says:

    You know it!
