While technically not a must-win game, Pitt really needs this one to get back on track and stay away from the bubble. Hopefully the Pitt team that has some clue how to rebound and score the occasional basket shows up today.

Pitt could really us today’s game to gain some momentum back before returning home for two games.

Schedule down the stretch provides the Panthers a golden opportunity to string a winning streak together and help its cause when it comes to post season tournament seedings.

Really need to see some fluidity in the offense today.

I love blackout rules. I’m in Orlando, and I can’t watch this game on ESPN3.

I understand local blackouts to some degree, but this whole “you can’t watch the college basketball game you want to see because some random network wants you to watch their programming instead” is just a wee bit silly in this day and age. I have 8 bajillion channels to choose from… The odds of me landing on whatever channel is using their rights to block my ability to watch this game are practically zero.

  • JRay3 says:

Woodall stepping up today, 21 points and Pitt goes up 12 on the road after trailing by one briefly in second half.

Defense has once again made it very difficult for the opposition to get easy looks, holding Harrison to 1-10 shooting.

This game is the toughest remaining on schedule, great bounce back and on pace to go 5-3 on road in RPI rated #2 conference.

  • JRay3 says:

Taylor the dunk and finish and than taking the charge on the other end, nice to see both seniors contributing to the dominant performance.

South Florida and Villanova at home next week and than a road trip to the league’s worst DePaul, Panthers can quickly right the ship and finish regular season strong.

Great effort and nice win for Dixon’s squad today.

  • JRay3 says:

21-7, 9-6 in league play, hold opposition to 47 points on 32% shooting and just 15% from behind the arc in 16 point road win. Win the battle on the boards which is important for this team.

Pitt is maybe the best defensive team in the country, now to work on getting the offense in rhythm the next few games as we head into March.

Really appreciate your Pitt posts, JRay. Didn’t have the chance to watch or listen to the game, and you provided some good info here on the blog.

Were the team as questionable as I’ve feared, this would have been a very possoble loss. As a Pitt fan, I’ll take the convincing win and JRay’s interpretation.
