  1. T.S. says:

With Curtis Granderson out 10 weeks with a busted forearm, it’s be nice to see the Pirates trade one of their extra OFs (Alex Presley, anyone?) since they have such a glut. Can always use another prospect. :)

  2. Bizrow says:

I read they are looking for a right handed hitter.

  3. JMB says:

I’m hoping for Tabata & TSanchez for the Yanks catching Gary Sanchez.

  4. Looks like Jeanmar Gomez may need a little work. Guess that’s what ST is for.

  5. Milo Hamilton says:

Funny you bring that up. They try to tell us how deep their minor leagues are & there’s room for this jabrone on the 40 man.

  6. +2

But that’s just FO hatred-talk, Milo, you naughty kitten!

  7. Bizrow says:

Didn’t we trade for this guy?

  8. 21sthebest says:

  9. Milo Hamilton says:

Yes sir. For Quincy Latimore I believe.

  10. Bizrow says:

Well, nuttin ventured, nutting gained, I guess on this one, but its only one outing….

  11. Milo Hamilton says:

Joggin’ Joe ties it up with an 8th inning homer.

  12. Milo Hamilton says:

    7th inning homer, my bad.

  13. The Twins are playing 3 guys we had at Indy last season, Boggs, Clement and Fryer. And winning.

  14. Arriba Wilver says:

    Hocka Hey works?

  15. Arriba Wilver says:

  16. Baywatch says:

    What happened? We lost!

  17. Baywatch says:

This is where we invoke the “Spring Training Games Mean NOTHING” Rule!

  18. Lower the Jolly Roger. The Bucs’ winning streak ends at 2.

    ST lament.

  19. Thundercrack says:

  20. Arriba Wilver says:

  21. Arriba Wilver says:

    We’ll never win another game.

  22. TJ says:

The Yankees are looking for a hitter. That pretty much excludes the Pirates.

  23. TJ says:

And so the slide to .500 begins

  24. Drew71 says:

    I’m cold. I’m so cold.

  25. Drew71 says:

Somebody is having trouble lately spelling four letter words.

  26. TJ says:

Pirates close to a deal with Kip Wells

  27. Bizrow says:

    No, not really??

  28. TJ says:

Nah; just messing with you guys…. but would you be surprised if they did?

  29. TJ says:

on a SERIOUS note the Pens just brought back Eaton. Wonder if this means Bortuzzo is heading out; could have sworn he would have had to clear waivers.

  30. TJ says:

And on an even more serious note Jon Morosi is reporting that the Pirates have spoken to Scott Boras concerning Kyle Loshe; this according to the ESPN rumor mill

  31. JAL says:

You sure you read that right? Jon Morosi

The Pirates don’t appear to be pursuing Kyle Lohse, although he would be a great fit with them.

  32. officer mancoso says:

SP McPherson’s line is a rare one: 2 IP, 1H, threw 6 pitches, all strikes. And his ERA last season across 26 innings was 2.74? These are submicroscopic sample sizes, but he has my attention.

  33. officer mancoso says:

I have 4 World Series tickets I’ll trade you for a 1 day bus pass. Guess it’s too late.

  34. tpbco says:

Don’t think it’s Bortuzzo, almost has to be Depres. He definitely has shown his potential, but as already been written, that for his long term developement, he is better off playing big minutes as a 1 or 2 in W/B than as the 5 in Pittsburgh, since he still has options. Tough deal, but probably in the best interest of the organization….unless this is a precursor to a trade.

  35. Drew71 says:

Very surprised. No broken or transplanted arm.

  36. Drew71 says:

    Gisele Bündchen has my attention.

  37. Drew71 says:

Morosi is wrong. It would NOT be a great fit.

Once again. Is his arm broken? Transplanted? 41 years old?

    Terrible fit.

  38. Thundercrack says:

Doesn’t Morosi work for CBS Sports? What would he be doing in the ESPN rumor mill?

  39. Thundercrack says:

You should see the narcissistic practice swings she takes.

  40. Drew71 says:

Ok. But it we have to choose between covered ears or size of her butt, we will have crossed over a line. So I’m not going there.

  41. officer mancoso says:

What we really need here are NH’s bust, waist and hip measurements, if they can be had without influencing the election of the next Pope.

  42. Drew71 says:

I have to ask. Where’s our daily Pitt-South Florida thread?

DK: Why I ought to …

  43. Drew71 says:

Wow. Don’t wake the sleeping journalist.

At least I have a reprieve until noon. Ish.
