Remember when Stan Heath was the “it” coach his final year at Kent State?

  • JohninOshkosh says:

NBA alley oop there by USF. Don’t know much about Anthony Collins but looks good early.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

If Adams is who we think he is, he should have his way tonight. Faster, more mobile and more skilled than USF’s big man, Omogbehin.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

Adams draws 2d foul as he bites on Fitzpatrick’s head fake and gets beat to the basket causing Adams to commit the desperation foul.

    Sitting now.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

Final media TO of first half: 22-19 Pitt.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

Dixon looks like he will sit the final 7 minutes of the half with his 2 fouls. Pitt has taken the lead with him sitting

  • JohninOshkosh says:

Dixon picks up a T with 34 sec left

    • JohninOshkosh says:

Did you hear the naughty word, Dejan?

DK: No, we’re closest to the visitors’ bench.

    • JohninOshkosh says:

      Halftime at the Pete:

      26-25 Pitt

      Sloppy end of first half.

Both teams played ferocious man to man in the first half. USF hung around while Adams sat the last third of the half.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

Tray Woodall, let me remind you that you are a senior. Enough of the disappearing act.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

First media timeout of 2d half: 30-28 USF

  • Milo Hamilton says:

I’ve had more enjoyable root canals.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

10 unanswered points for Pitt. Including a Woodall sighting who hit a trey during the run. Would be reprehensible if Pitt gives up this lead.

    • Milo Hamilton says:

I don’t know about reprehensible, but it would suck. :)

Just wanted to use a strong adjective to wake myself up. Thought I was the only one watching this turkey!

        • JohninOshkosh says:

Watching this on a little viewed local channel. Every other commercial is an ad for a round table sports talk show where some yutz Milwaukee reporter is defending Ryan Braun in the clip. Ugggh.

        • Milo Hamilton says:

You’re reading too much Kovacevic ! Hey, I’m already plotting out where to watch the Big East Tourney while I’m in Bradenton.

Having some wings and beer watching March college hoops after hanging out at the ocean and spring training game all day sounds like a perfect way to spend one’s time. Have fun.

  • JohninOshkosh says:

Meanwhile in Happy Valley: PSU leading the maize and blue by 2 with 3 minutes left.

  • DemonDachshund says:

Whatever Dixon said during the 16 minute timeout… He should say again every game.

  • JRay3 says:

Well a little bit of an unconventional 20 point victory for the Panthers after leading by just one at the half.

Pitt outscores USF 38-19 in the second half behind another strong effort from the two seniors Woodall and Taylor. Tray pours in 14 points, 2-3 from behind the arc, and what a night for Taylor spelling Adams who found himself in foul trouble early again. 12 points 10 boards for Dante, very happy for him, a player that accepts his role and you can see the fun and joy he has. Even off the bench this year he has played a part in this 22-7 season.

Pitt now 10-6 in Big East play with Villanova and DePaul remaining, two teams the Panthers have already defeated this year. Looking at the schedules for Syracuse and Notre Dame, Pitt has a great shot to finish in the Top 4 and earn a double bye.

Who would have thought that before the season, or after the 1-3 start in league play? Once again Jamie DIxon doing an incredible job with the program that has the 5th most wins since the 2001 season!
