  3. Tonight will be an important regular season game. Will the undisciplined penalties continue or will the Pens skate away? No more excuses, either they learn to tonight or Shero needs to decide who to move and what to acquire. They can prove that the actually get it or prepare for another early exit. Malkin, Neal, TK and others better step up and learn from the past. Cannot wait to watch

  4. I hope the Pens win tonight.

  5. Staring wistfully at the Pennsylvania locations in Biz’s Lunatic Nation above.

I’ve bought a beautiful new house.

But it’s here in Liberty Township, OH. Closing date is Monday, and moving in next weekend.

My dream of moving to the Burgh some day looks pretty bleak.

Gotta get my live game fixes thru attending Pirates games vrs the Reds, Steelers games thru the Bengals, and Pens games up in Columbus. Have to watch my games on my puter thru MLB and NHL websites.

    Pittsburgh fan forever.

    DK: A little extra incentive:

  6. Ok Pens, yall know what the Flyers are gonna do.
    Initiate DON’T retaliate!
    Refs ALWAYS call the retailation.
    GO PENS!

(that yall above should have been yinz but some of my time spent in the South sneeking back) LOL

  7. Lets Go Pens! So pumped for this game, I wish it were on TV here.

  8. and this is why I dislike Bylsma….

    Scratches: Despres, Vitale, Bortuzzo

    1. Why is Engelland starting over Despres?
    2. Why is Jeffrey starting over Vitale?

    • I think they’re kind of at a point where they need to stop babying Despres. Let the kid play or send him back down. If they don’t think he can handle physical teams then he’s not ready for the NHL. Personally, I’d like to see them give him a shot. At least Bennett is gonna get some scoring line minutes (though I’m sure Cooke will still be there since it’s Philly). I like that Eaton is getting back in too. I always found him to be a steady if unremarkable defenseman.

    • Engelland gotta be in there, been playing extremly well and he** its the Flyers!
      Agree w/ya Jeffery/Vitale

    • Don’t know if its true or not but I heard that Despres has some sort of finger injury. Wanted to give him a day off to let it heal.

Again, not sure if its true, but if it is it makes a bit more sense.

And Jeffrey should be playing, but it is TK that should be scratched, not Vitale.

  9. That’s fair. I thought you hated him for his .655 winning % & that Stanley Cup.

  10. I was going to eat dinner in front of the TV, and then I saw that orange. Lost my appetite.

  11. There appears to be a storm to weather.

  12. Big save by my man Fleur y.

  13. North America’s largest collection of orange ties.

  14. I guess Tyler Kennedy will never be a healthy scratch.

  15. Nice call. No, really.

  16. If THAT is a penalty, then Crosby better be drawing 5 penalties tonight.

  17. dumb penalty for Hartnell and Kunitz ties it up 1-1 on PP…

  18. This guy Philly has doing color between the glass, not Jones-don’t know who he is-is a freakin’ troglodyte.

    • Steve Coates. You know, Coatsey ! Good God I’m gonna puke.

      • Start to type in Steve Coates and Google tries to finish it with “Steve Coates drunk”

I love Google’s sense of humor. It used to be if you typed “WNBA”, Google would ask, “Do you mean NBA?” Norm Macdonald discovered that.

  19. I see Bylsma did a good job coaching the team to stay composed…. not!

  20. Neal already in box for four minutes. Playing right into Philly’s hands again. Unreal.

  21. another bad rebound… Rinaldo goal….

  22. Engelland doesn’t tie up his man…. sure glad Despres could watch that weak net coverage

  23. Uhh captain I think the leaky defense has showed up again.

  24. Time to pull MAF.

  25. Piece of crap.

  26. Think Glass can drop the gloves for a change? Maybe contribute?

  27. Seriously the Flyers should be up 4 or 5 to 1.

Nice of Orpik to stand up for MAF as Hartnell whacks away

  28. This game is absolutely ridiculous.

  29. They have completely lost their minds.

  30. Flyers are owning the Penguins right now 4-1

  31. Time for MAF to be pulled and time to drop the gloves

  32. That’s 2 for Paul Martin.

  33. Wow this is getting ugly, Time to pull the flower, he is wilting

  34. I am so freaking sick of Brooks Orpik. He does absolutely nothing for this team. Doesn’t even stand up for his goalie. Freanking wussy.

  35. Hartnell offsides and whacks MAF and no call Neil gets in a little late takes one swipe and it’s a PP? I think the boys are afraid to touch a Flyer fir the calls that are going on. We need to hit first then skate away.

  36. Next game against the Flyers, bring up the AHL goalie. And sit James Neal. And play Despres.

The Flyers are so far into the Pens collective heads, they’ll need a lobotomy to get them out.

  37. I’m gonna join Milo and puke

  38. Its nice to see that the team got fired up after that period. You can tell that Bylsma really laid into them. NOT

  39. Finally!!!!!

  40. My oh my. A GOAL!

Now lets wait for the seas to part and Philly scores the next 4

  41. Oh christ there is the steigerwald special… Sometimes a 3 goal lead can be a bad thing.

  42. They need to play hockey. They need to score and skate away. Show toughness by consistently go to the dirty areas. Do it again. Focus on hockey.

Decent start to second. Get 1 and go from there.

Literally as I type this, Duper goal.

I had nothing to do with it, not implying that. More about my slow typing. And pizza timer goin off.

    Go Pens!

  43. I knew this was going to be a bad day when I read that Paul Bearer from the WWE had passed away at age of 58

  44. and there’s another!

  45. Rhut roh shaggy…. looks like we might have a game

  46. Awesome shift by Bennet there. Really like him on this line.

  47. Bennett working hard, gets loose puck to Neal, Malkin to net, and Neal pass deflected into net. 4-3 Flyers

  48. How bad is Fleury(King of Rebounds), Engelland, Martin???

  49. Pens in talks with Vancouver for Luongo

  50. Did anyone see that?? Rebound control by a goalie… I didn’t know that was legal

  52. and here comes Boucher

  53. Real nice patience by Cooke to cycle puck up high and pass it to Kennedy for slap shot.

    4-4 game

  54. LOL.

  55. I don’t know what to say about this one. Wow.

  56. Exactly the same script as Florida. Hope it ends differently.

  57. Wow how was that trip not called on the Flyers??? Should be a 5 on 3 right now

  59. Bizarro Pens tonight. Awful in 1st period; great in 2nd. May not bode well for 3rd.

Flyers announcers are worse than Steigy and Errey.

  60. Orpik gets plastered by Talbot. Tossed like a salad

  61. Now it’s a game!

  62. Ravenstahl just announced that March 7th will be known as Tyler Kennedy day in Pittsburgh.

Its only fitting since he’s now going to be the intermission interview

  63. Hi all, I am in the philly area and the game is blacked out on directv. Anyone know where I can watch online?

  64. Ok good comeback, now for the 3rd. Keep it up and the pressure on boys

  65. for an “old” guy, Kunitz is on a roll

  66. Wow, keep it up!

    Lets go Pens!

  67. 5-4 Pens

Terrible puck management by Flyers, out of position, bad backchecking… Crosby from LW far across to Kunitz for 1-timer.

  68. c’mon boys, don’t get sucked into penalties

  69. Nice puck battle Sid!

  70. Anyone happen to notice the number of blocked shots by the Pens the last 2 periods?

  71. hold everything

  72. I seriously don’t think there is anyone other than Ray Lewis that I hate more than freaking Carrot Top

  73. Imagine that…. Dupuis with a stupid penalty

  74. I’ve come to the conclusion that Tomas Vokoun is Wendell Young. Eeesh.

  75. very important penalty kill

  76. Pens are in this dam thing

  77. Holy crapola! Took my daughter to swim lessons and came home to Pens leading! Maybe I shouldn’t watch the finish!

  78. someone tell Neal to STFU. he takes another penalty I’m gonna be jacked

  79. Pietrangelo says NO

  80. Got to love Steigerwald. “Pens would love to get one more”.

Really? He should trademark that statement

  81. WOOT!!!!!!!!!!

  82. Love the tantrum by 93 trashing his stick. AWESOME.

Waving the #1 sign at the Flyers right now!

  83. Logic has absolutely no place in this rivalry.

  84. You can come out now Oshkosh.

  85. Biggest difference between Pens and Flyers right now…. Next time these two teams meet I’d bet that Ruff is the Flyers coach. Flyers are going to make a splash real soon. Not a belly smacker like tonight but they are going to do something crazy.

  86. Steigerwald started to say biggest come back by the Pirates

  87. All together now….

Thought they had eased up on that. Glad it’s back. Sid in Philly is usually money.

  88. Nice win, more impressed they stayed within their game.
Someone explain, Duper with his back to the Philly player, he tries to go through him and Duper is called for interference. A pen player gets rubbed out before he an get to a lose puck and no call? I see this both ways and in other games as well. What gives? when is it interference and when not?

  89. I’ll say it again, Kunitz is on a roll

    • He played vry well and I liked Bennett as well, did not look out of place at all.

    • Crosby started the first two weeks at a slow pace for him, when he heated up, so did Kunitz. I still wonder how much of his success is directly related to Crosby.

      • they feed off each other, Eric. I still think TK’s struggles are directly related to Staal leaving.

      • I would say a lot, in any sport a star player will lift other players game., Jordan, Bird, Magic, Crosby, Malkin, Stamos and the list goes on.

      • There is definitely some correlation, but I think Kunitz deserves a ton of credit. He played great last year without Crosby and is stepping up more now. He is amazing at finding the open space on the ice, putting the puck on the empty part of the net, and getting in on the forecheck and finishing checks. He is playing like a player on a mission right now and it is awesome to watch.

  90. Big win. No feeling better than coming back to beat the Flyers in their building. Nice defensive effort in the 3rd period. Pretty sure I didn’t think I’d say that tonight at the end of the 1st period.

Eaton played well again. Engelland will find himself out of the lineup come playoff time, unless Bylsma continues his non-sensical scratching of Despres.

  91. Wondering if Orpik wears a visor, will he check someone?

  92. Mother T is off to bed…4am comes much too quickly! Night guys :)

  93. Just ran through DK’s tweets and found some love for Bennett. Hell yeah. Anyone notice that play when his tired a** dragged it all the way back to deflect an open shot from the top of the circle in period 3? Really showed what type of player he is.

  94. Anyone notice DK struck again, in the chat he commented about TK shooting from the left side. Well tonight he scored from the center right ice. Thanks DK!
