  4. Just watched DVR Leafs game last night.

Wanted to congratulate Tyler Kennedy for achieving a career milestone by having 2,401 blocked shots in one game. Way to go Tyler.

I sure hope Despres sits today. I don’t think his 6’4″, 214 pounds can handle the fury of Marian Gaborik on the forecheck.

  5. Anyone heard the lineups yet?

  6. 1-0 Pens

Bennett with a slap shot flying down RW

  7. Penguins are dominating play so far.

  8. TG Despres in. Bennett’s the deal….

  9. And….what is today’s definition of boarding? Good lord. Garage league, Shanny.

  10. Gah! MAF! Grab that biscuit!

  11. Halllooooo? Anybody home?…..

  12. Orpik looked pretty good that last shift. Whats up?

  13. Game over. I wonder if the Rangers coach will have anything to say in the news conference?

  14. LOL

Kennedy scores on PP 2-0 Pens

Dupuis scores on a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet backhand 3-0 Pens

  15. Seriously this Rangers group canNOT score. Gotta feel for Henry.

  16. Like the aggressive PK.

    • Might this be an actual “adjustment” by the coaching staff? Really, last season early the PK was super aggressive and they were on a tear.
Then it all got passive as time went on, and has been iMO ridiculous since last spring.

If they’ve decided to get aggressive now on PK, then Yay.
      Time will tell….

  17. Let’s get that SO

  18. Fleury gets franchise record 23rd shutout

  19. Good to see the Flower get a shut out :)

  20. Good game Pens ! Boston tommorow- Vokun maybe?

  21. Geez I hope we see the Torts presser! Perfect end to this game lol!!!

  22. PDO ranking

58 NHL Forwards with at least 20 games played and less than 10 minutes of 5-on-5 TOI

Pens 4th liners well represented at the bottom

    Adams – 53rd
    Glass – 56th
    Vitale – 57th

    • Well their shooting % has to be microscopic yes?
You sayin RS needs to go after a bottom 6er? Don’t disagree!

      I’d choose a heavy duty top 4 D first tho…..

    • Thus the eight game losing streak.

      waittaminnit…

      • I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I don’t have a clue what that “stat”
        means ?????

        • “PDO is the sum of “On-Ice Shooting Percentage” and “On-Ice Save Percentage” while a player was on the ice. It regresses very heavily to the mean in the long-run: a team or player well above 1000 has generally played in good luck and should expect to drop going forward and vice-versa.”

          • Sorry Eric,
How in the He double hockeys sticks do you calculate “on-Ice Save Percentage”.
I am gonna regress to “mean” and say in the long run that really is a BS stat!!
Bunch o those smiley things Eric no offence.
Go Pens – Ya Baby I am A Homer!!

      • keep laughing.

Come playoff time, you need four solid lines and three good D pairings.

I think the defense pairings are good, the third line should be fine once Malkin returns but that 4th line is brutal.

Since Bylsma very rarely matches lines, teams will get their top two lines against our 4th line and it will be trouble.

  23. I heard after the game that this was the first time – in FOUR years – that Sid has gone two games in a row at home without a point.

  24. Did Tortorella give the Pens any credit after the game, or did the Rangers just suck again? He has to be unemployed soon.

    • All the coaches in the current Atlantic division could be toast after the season.

1 Rangers don’t get out of the first round or don’t make the playoffs, Torts will be gone.
2 Flyers could fire Lavs now based on their atrocious defensive play.
3 Islanders are a disappointing bunch, not sure Capuano is long for that job
4 Penguins don’t make it out of the 1st round and no way should Bylsma be retained
5 Devils under Lamoriello are nuts about coaches, if they struggle Deboer is scape goat

      • Penguins leading the Eastern Conference.

Penguins riding an eight game winning streak.

        Penguins coming off a shutout.

So let’s talk about firing the coach.

        • Drew,
I gotta line on some really good tar and feathers w/a broken disco ball thrown in, aint found the rail yet but Eric may have a line on that!!
          LOL

  25. So who had the record before, Barraso?

And why can’t anyone write it in any game story?

    • yeah, it was Tommy B’s team record at 22

    • John,
Root had a graphic after the game that showed the records, but for the life of me I cannot remember the last two after Barasso. Old age and Labatts Blue certainly are a factor in the memory loss!
But I am seein somthing like Les Binkley w/like 12 and the Moose w/7.
Someone will correct me if I am wrong! lol
