  1. RobertoForever says:

Looking forward to this game. Great seats behind home plate. Hope its a good game as ST games go.

DK: Enjoy, RF! No bad seats at Ed Smith.

  2. Thundercrack says:

    Have fun Roberto!

  3. You didn’t drive to Sarasota, TC?

  4. NMR says:

Anybody have the lineup and pitchers?

  5. Thundercrack says:

This trip to Florida is really to see the in-laws. I can’t go to every ST game.

Unless I want to look for a new wife. I’m glad she lets us plan this trip in March so that I can go to a few games. (She does like going to the games too)

  6. Arriba Wilver says:

    Sanchez and Arrieta

  7. Bizrow says:

Have fun, bring home a winnah!

  8. MadTurk says:

Fire Hurdle! oops it’s BN’s fault

Now let’s talk Steelers, Fire Tomlin. oops it falls on DL instead with the 1st ranked defense.

Yeah DB back to the Pens.

    While that covers todays posts

  9. TJ says:

Should add Dixon to that list

  10. Drew71 says:

    is THAT all it takes?

from now on I’m going to EVERY game

  11. NMR says:

    A true pitchers duel.

  12. Bizrow says:

    You won’t be allowed?

  13. MadTurk says:

:-) my snarly comment was because of the fire Dixon thread. The worse coach we have with the talent available was Tomlin but I never hear his name it’s the GM or good old Dick. Same with baseball it’s always BN’s. Then we have the first place Pens and it’s Blysma.
Always seems to be the person least liked in each organization.

  14. Bizrow says:

    I know I’m not

  15. JAL says:

Marte 7 Walker 4 McCutchen 8 Alvarez 5 Sanchez DH Jones 3 Martin 2 Snider 9 Barmes 6. LHP Sanchez

  16. Bill Born says:

Time for Russell Martin to get in gear- opening day is just around the corner.

  17. Could be Opening Day except for that DH and AJ on the mound.

  18. Arriba Wilver says:

    Same with Snider.

  19. Thundercrack says:

After a fast start by Tabata his stats look very similar to Snider.

Some seem to want to bury Snider already.

  20. RobertoForever says:

Awesome, a great lineup for a game attending.

    Thanks for posting, JAL

  21. RobertoForever says:

They just gave the weather report – in Baltimore 34°, Pittsburgh 26°. Sarasota 67° and clear.

Btw, Tabata does look quite svelte.

  22. Milo Hamilton says:

Time for the next chapter in the Jonathan Sanchez Debacle to unfold.

  23. Milo Hamilton says:

Gaby Sanchez scratched due to an allergic reaction. Insert your own joke here.

  24. Milo Hamilton says:

Yeah Roberto, I thought those little pre game announcements were cute last week. This week, not so much.

  25. Thundercrack says:

  26. Thundercrack says:

His batting average needs to be fatter

  27. RobertoForever says:

Well, lead off double by Marte, swinging at first pitch. But between Walker, Cutch and Pedro, all they could muster was a ground out advancing to 3rd and 2 K’s.

  28. officer mancuso says:

With 2 outs and a man on third, an aging, failed #1 draft pick strikes out by swinging and missing six times.

  29. officer mancuso says:

I’ll stick my neck out here and say that I expect Sanchez to be a respectable back of the order guy.

  30. RobertoForever says:

Great caught stealing of Machado for the third out. Martin fired a cannon, although a little to the third base side. Walker with a great scoop and quick lateral tag. Looks different than 2012.

  31. Drew71 says:

    Bury them both.

    Jones RF.
    G Sanchez 1B.
    J Sanchez selling insurance

  32. Drew71 says:

Then you probably don’t want to hear about tomorrow’s warming trend.

  33. RobertoForever says:

Snider is looking quite healthy as well. And nice plate patience there.

  34. Milo Hamilton says:

They really need someone to step up there. This will probably be his last start before they have to make up their mind on him one way or the other. Most of these guys have an out clause that kicks in with about a week to go. He did pitch well his last time out.

  35. officer mancuso says:

Pirates catching a base thief = man bites dog. Give credit to the pitcher’s delivery as well as the catcher’s throw and the second baseman’s play.

  36. officer mancuso says:

After 2, Sanchez has been hit once on the ground and 3 times in the air. With no K’s. That’s luck.

  37. Milo Hamilton says:

I found Lacee Collins. Tucson, Arizona – 1290am The Source. She’s also going to law school. Glad to see she landed back home.

  38. Milo Hamilton says:

Devils lead Carolina 1-0 after 1. Marty Brodeur has the goal. No foolin’.

  39. RobertoForever says:

Sanchez has the nasty hook working tonight. Except the one pitch he threw juuuuust a bit outside. All the way to the backstop.

  40. RobertoForever says:

Snider with some more great plate patience, and rips a single past the diving first basemen. With 1 out and man on 1st.

  41. RobertoForever says:

    I do! I do!

  42. officer mancuso says:

    Go Bucs!

  43. kr70 says:

I like it…..can’t go wrong with the Legend

  44. RobertoForever says:

Marte shows some patience finally and it pays off. Roberts apparently trips on edge of grasses on a slow grounder, and everyone safe. Cutch with another hard grounder back to pitcher for FC. Pedro K’s looking.

Garrett takes first pitch for a ride down the RF line, going, going…….it would have been gone at PNC Park, but here in Sarasota, its a fly out at the wall.

  45. Arriba Wilver says:

Snider up to .294. He must follow the Blog.

  46. RobertoForever says:

Sanchez still dealing, and Pedro with his second awesome reaction stab at third for the final out of fifth. Still scoreless.

    Who knew, a pitching duel.

  47. RobertoForever says:

Too be honest I wasn’t paying attention to Sanchez checking Machado, so not sure if it was different.

But the cannon to second WAS different, and it stood out to me. And agree on the 2nd baseman’s quick tag. It also stood out and I mentioned it.

  48. Drew71 says:

    77 tomorrow, 82 Saturday

  49. RobertoForever says:

Think that sounds very reasonable, considering what I am seeing.

  50. Drew71 says:

    Except for Milo.

    He’s As Cold As Ice

  51. RobertoForever says:

Agree on Jones. He should be playing every day.

If Sanchez can sell insurance the way he is dealing against the Orioles essential starting lineup, I am buying some.

  52. Drew71 says:

    Stop it.

Don’t confuse my mind with facts.

    Besides. They’re all singles.

But at least none of them are infield singles. What with his fat little legs.

  53. RobertoForever says:

    Thanks, DK. Very nice stadium.

Shaping up to be a very good pitchers duel.

  54. Drew71 says:

Roberto. You must attend every game in which Sanchez pitches.

    Every. Stinking. One.

Except, you know, make them not stink.

  55. RobertoForever says:

Thanks , TC. Wish you were here :D

  56. Drew71 says:

By the way. How did pitt do today?

  57. Drew71 says:

    THAT was awesomely awesome.

  58. RobertoForever says:

Haha. Everyone that’s on a Saturday in Pittsburgh. Or in Toronto.

You jinxed it. Ryan Reid now in for Sanchez in the bottom of the sixth. But he is still dealing. Broke two bats already.

  59. officer mancuso says:

Are you asking whether the Dixon contract should be renewed?

  60. RobertoForever says:

Here come the replacements. New pitcher for O’s. Pie in for Cutch.

  61. JohninOshkosh says:

Thanks Roberto-Have enjoyed your posts. Hope you are around for the season,

  62. RobertoForever says:

Thanks, John. About to lose my battery life on my pad. Will have to make sure I have a full charge tomorrow.

  63. radio wave says:

    Roberto, thanks for the reports.

  64. RobertoForever says:

You are very welcome. Enjoy being here, too :D

  65. TJ says:

Last year I thought he was allergic to making contact with the ball. Maybe I’m right

  66. Milo Hamilton says:

Well there’s three hours of my life I’ll never get back. :)

  67. TJ says:

Milo amazing about Brodeur getting that goal tonight. Who would have thought he’d have as many goals scored today as Woodall?

  68. Drew71 says:

It’s games like this that remind me how much I dislike Bud Selig

  69. Milo Hamilton says:

Sometimes a tie is a just result.

  70. JohninOshkosh says:

They should come up with some unique way to break ties in ST.

    Like a home run derby-using 2 by 4’s.

    A juggling of baseballs contest.

Release a bull on to the field. Last guy off the field is the winner.
