Well, I want to catch JMB tonight

    So 100 on the OVAH

  6. Bizrow says:

If you haven’t logged in where you live, or are not sure, please post a reply to this post.

Yes, I should have been a census taker, but I love the fact that so many different places follow this here blog.

Posting the whole list takes up space ;-)

  7. Bizrow says:

I did try to post this as a followup

  20. JoeyBats says:

  21. JMB says:

    100 on the OVER.

    I’m feeling lucky!

  22. Drew71 says:

Yes. The only one with a hit.

    One hit.

And he’s the leader in the clubhouse.

  23. Drew71 says:

    Is Lucky ok with that???

  24. Jandy says:

    ewwwwwww

  25. Drew71 says:

    Five and down looks weak.

Maybe McDonald can carry them. Meaning hitting.

  26. bman says:

    @playoffs:

    25 on the UNDER

  27. tdb1977 says:

100 dog biscuits on the under!

  28. Milo Hamilton says:

See you at Carnivores some time.

  29. NYBuccoFan says:

Every time I click onto Ron’s TribLive Pirates page from this blog I end up on the Trib Duquesne college basketball page. Go figure, and Go Bucs!

  30. Drew71 says:

Ok. I just watched Bubba Watson cry (again) at Augusta National. When asked what last year’s green jacket meant to him.

    My new favorite golfer.

    Now Tiger is talking.

    Not my favorite golfer.

I’ve cried two times re sports. The first two within months of each other.

    1. Bob Moose wild pitch
    2. December 31, 1972

    Good. For. Him.

    (Not Tiger)

  31. Milo Hamilton says:

    Yes & yes.

  32. Mind out of gutter, please.

Or do they have gutters on Florida streets? Or when it rains, does it just run all over the roads? Or does it ever rain other than hurricanes?

    There now. That’s better.

    :)

  33. I cried at the end of Rocky II, does that count as sports crying?

  34. 21sthebest says:

I wonder if Bubba is related to Dick Vermeil. Or Jim Leyland. or John Boehner.

  35. Pucknutz says:

If it was anybody but the Buccos I would say my dag could draw 3 walks…
    ALL INN on the under!

  36. JRay3 says:

@ Playoffs – would like to go 100 on the OVER.

Let’s make it two in a row…Go Bucs!

  37. No worries, I got ya covered.

    YOU GOT IT!!!

As far as prizes are concerned, I’m working on it.
The will be a prize for monthly winners as well as grand prizes for the overall winners.

Soon as I get it all sorted and figured out, I’ll post them with pictures.

  38. Nice outing by Andy Oliver tonight. 5 innings, 0 runs, 3 hits, 3 BB, 5 K’s. Maybe he’s better than AAAA. Only 25.

Still not much hitting at Indy.

  39. Enjoy the game.
By the way do they still have D.Baxter as a mascot?
Always got a kick out of that.

    YOU GOT IT!!

  40. Hell Unleashed says:

I cried that time the Buccos broke their record futility streak. Oh wait! That never happened.

  41. Welcome, YOU GOT IT!!

  42. tdb1977 says:

No one made mention of Andrew Lambo hitting for the cycle for Altoona tonight. Which trade did we get him in again? Or is he one of those picks that have been used stock pile the minors as the wiseful Neal would have us believe.

  43. Andrew Lambo has the cycle for Altoona tonight through only 5 innings. Maybe he’s finally ready for AAA.

  44. JRay3 says:

Yes Baxter is still here…too funny.

  45. You beat me to it.

  46. JaxBuc says:

Well, there’s never a reason to walk a pirate intentionally, so that cuts down on the potential. And, nobody has any “approach” in mind when they step into the batter’s box, except Pedro, whose approach is to flail wildly at pitches down and away.

I’ll wager 100 imaginary shekels on the UNDER.

  47. Arriba Wilver says:

    We got him with McDonald.

  48. Didn’t he come with JMac from the Dodgers?

  49. Excellent. Love that crazy cat!!

  50. Mercy, I’m gonna quit. Day late, etc.

  51. JohninOshkosh says:

The minimum $2 bet for me: 5/Over.

You are a sneaky bookkeeper. Not touching this line for other than the minimum. :)

Remember handicappers: it’s a marathon not a sprint (just for Lucky)

  52. Arriba Wilver says:

    Coke.

  53. Drew71 says:

Are you referring to the bet or to Lucky?

  54. JRay3 says:

Some quick notes from BP and an awesome experience. Got to shake Clint Hurdle’s hand an congratulate him on win. Gave a shout to GI Jones for blast last night and he laughed.

Guys looked locked in especially Marte, Walker and Jones. Jones is my call for big night as he was really squaring ball up.

Jay Bell was chatting up both Buc and DBack fans as I believe he scored winning run in DBacks World Series win.

Hoping for a healthy pitching performance tonight and win #2 in a row. Go Bucs

  55. JohninOshkosh says:

My mantra for this weekend: Anybody but Tiger!

  56. Lad9 says:

    Playoffs:

100 krugerrands on the over please. Thank you. And here is a theme song for the window if you want it. An underrated tune by the great Steve Miller, the “Window”

  57. I know I deserve that. You owe me quite a few.

  58. Have a great night, JRay.

  59. Arriba Wilver says:

In my race to the bottom, I’m going with

    100 on the Under.

This pitcher isn’t very good, but his problem doesn’t seem to be walks. And the Pirates are not the leaders in walks by any stretch. A cruel, cruel line by Playoffs, but it is what it is. The Pirates have averaged just under 3 per game. Not so much cruel as Brilliant.

    -230, here I come.

  60. This is between Lucky and Biz now.

  61. JRay went down to the paddock for some inside handicapping info before The Window closes.
    LOVE IT!!

  62. The first minimum “wager” of the year.

    YOU GOT IT!!

  63. Cruel, sneaky and brilliant…YOU GOT IT!!

  64. Lad9 says:

    Playoffs:

I put in 100 on the over about 25 minutes ago and it is stuck in moderation. Thanks

  65. Officer Mancuso says:

This is a big game for the Pirates. Which JMac takes the mound?

  66. Officer Mancuso says:

More big games are in the offing when Charlie Morton comes back.

  67. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!

    YOU GOT IT!!

  68. JMB says:

    Martin finally got a hit!!

  69. Sadly Pedro did not…

  70. JMB says:

    Yeah, I wanted more score!

  71. Jandy says:

Hey…we have gutters here in PA too :P

  72. Jandy says:

    +100000000000

  73. Jandy says:

    I want Capn Morgan’s with mine ;)

  74. Joey Mellons says:

At least Pedro didn’t go down swinging and made contact. Small victories.

  75. Eric Bowser says:

This could be an ugly game, if it wasn’t already for you.

losing 4-1, McDonald wild and Hurdle needs 5 innings at least from J-Mac after Wandy went down early last night.

  76. TJ says:

Well its good to see JMac returning to form. Maybe this year he’ll start out like crap and won’t sulk over being left out of the all-star game and come back with a strong second half in AAA.

  77. TJ says:

Was he the throw in on the JMac trade?

  78. TJ says:

31 pitches in the first inning; going to be a long night

  79. TJ says:

I didn’t cry but I was sad when Micky died in Rocky II

  80. JRay3 says:

McCarthy laboring as well at 30 pitches, there will be runs scored tonight with how ball is carrying here at Chase Field.

  81. Barmes of all people walks.
This is gonna be an interesting night.

  82. Never thought I’d be excited about Morton coming back. Or even Lirano. Mercy.

Searage needs to do his thing with JMac.

  83. Hope you’re right and it’s not 17 or so for the D-Backs.

  84. Patrick(RI) says:

When is this team gonna execute like a major league team? Or, like a well coached high school squad! Jeez.

  85. TJ says:

    Times I cried in sports…

    1. June 1987; took a line drive to the nuts. Let me tell ya as a 12 year old it was the last time I pitched. Being a lefty I could easily be making 10 mil a year at the age of 37.

    2. November 1991; I was cut from the 10th grade basketball team. I vowed not to let it get me down and soon was dunking from the foul line and Nike gave me my own line of shoes. Wait this wasn’t my story; nevermind.

    2. October 14,1992; Bonds obviously wasn’t using steroids yet or candy arm throws out Bream easily. Was the most gut wrenching.

    3. Jan 15, 1994; Barry Foster on 4th and goal turns and squares at the goaline only to have the O’Donnell pass be knocked down

I considered adding the Pens loss to the Islanders in the first round of the 1993 playoffs but I realized that there is too much boo hooing going on in this post.

But by far my most gut wrenching moments in sports.

  86. TJ says:

Show him how to pick up the dirty towels in the locker room? Cause his career as a player is soon to be over if he keeps pitching like this.

  87. TJ says:

The Pirates are like some union run businesses. With the lack of depth in the minors they know their jobs are safe no matter what. Who we going to call up? Matt Hague?

What is going to make or break this team is the return of Brandon Inge and Jose Contreras. Those 2 guys if they come back healthy and play well could net us a 27 year old in AA come trade deadline.

  88. JMB says:

    Marte Partay

  89. That was a nice hit by Marte.
    Real nice hit.

  90. JRay3 says:

So far so good…Bucs getting to McCarthy and he continues to struggle…big hit by Marte!

  91. There we go Walker!!

  92. JMB says:

    O explosion!!

  93. JRay3 says:

Marte and Walker come through called them out up top after BP…knew runs would be scored way McCarthy throwing. Bats awakening.

    Let’s Go Bucs!

  94. JRay3 says:

And now Jones coming through with two strike RBI knock and 2-3 on the night. Go Buccos!

  95. JRay3 says:

JMac with quick 1-2-3 inning as he has settled down after rough first inning. Time to add on.

  96. McDonald may make that 5 innings Eric talked about above. I think Drew or someone said earlier in the season, that we should start a reliever and let McDonald come in to start the 2nd. Although he was kidding, McDonald really has been starting slow even in ST games.

  97. I saw a guy in a yellow Bucco jersey waving to the camera by the 1st base dugout.
Is that an official JRay sighting?

  98. Arriba Wilver says:

Doesn’t Barmes walking void the line?

  99. GI Jones looking much better on that 3-6-3 DP! Way to go JMac. Add on some more boys!!

  100. JRay3 says:

Im right above Bucs dugout in white shirt though…couldn’t wear Bucs gear out of courtesy for my friend who works for Dbacks that got me on field.

Nice job JMac getting Montero to double up!

  101. Ghost says:

    “I caught it!”

  102. Hughes is gonna make this a lot more “interesting” than it needs to be.

  103. But he got through it.

  104. First game this season with double-digit hits. Hope there’s more where that came from.

  105. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  106. The Battling Buccaneers of the Allegheny win again!!
    It’s a winning streak!!

    Once again the UNDER wins.

    Well, now I have a decision………..

Have watched parts of, or all of 5 games. All losses.
Have not watched 3 games. All wins.

This is troubling. But if I have to not watch the games, and we win 154 more, then I will do that.

I guess I will resort to keeping up on this blog, and waiting for highlights after the game.

157 and 5 would be a good record, huh? ;)

  108. Officer Mancuso says:

    +100

  109. Chuck H says:

Clint Hurdle is really a patient manager. Two four pitch walks would have made many managers go to the pen early, but not Hurdle. He tends to leave his struggling starters in
a little too long, sometimes long enough for the game to get out of control. I’ve seen it many times. he can’t figure it out that his starter just doesn’t have it today-take him out and save him for another day.
