  1. Ahhhhh.. a fresh page. I commented on the other thread….today was optional practice…but Geno and Kunitz didn’t deem it necessary to practice. If I have new linemates, I’m practicing to get some chemisty going. But hey, what do I know?

    • Kunitz I can understand, he has been an ironman so far and we need him as fresh as possible. Geno, unless he is playing injured, looked a little better against the ‘canes – jump wise – but overall has not played well and needs to get it together.

    • Not too concerned…doesn’t Bylsma call em maintenance days….Geno’s been recovering from 2 injuries the last several weeks, take the rest when you can get it…. They are guaranteed a 1 or 2 seed….play of the new guys is getting better each game and with Neal & Crosby returning at some point, the lines won’t stay the same anyway….I think as long as new guys keep progressing they are in a good spot moving forward. FWITW, love Murray & Jokinen….Morrow is becoming more noticeable and his toughness is rubbing off on teammates(especially Cooke, he has had bit more of an edge lately and I think seeing Morrow has helped him get that back)…Iginla & whoever he plays with look on the verge of just plain breaking out

  2. My superstitious GO PENS!!

  3. 30 — 10. Just amazing!

Considering the games Geno has missed, the many Letang has missed, the recent Nealer misses, the time Fleury sat out, and what’s-his-name has missed a few too . . . . . . what a wonderful year.

OK, let’s start getting the rotation lined up so that we have our best two pitchers ready to go in the first 2 playoff games! THIS BE THE YEAR!!

  4. Anyone hear any buzz on lines for tonight’s game? All I’ve heard is that Letang is playing and Vokoun in net. Here is my guess:

    Iginla – Malkin – Kunitz
    Dupuis – Jokinen – Morrow
    Cooke – Sutter – Kennedy
    Glass – Adams – Bennett

    Orpik – Eaton
    Murray – Niskanen
Letang – Engelland/Bortuzzo/Despres (No idea here)

  5. DK. It should make you proud to know your baby is in capable hands when you’re gone. Thank you for the welcome.

  6. So nice to follow a Pittsburgh sports team that we can actually concentrate on the games, and the chase for a championship.

    Go Pens !

Btw, has anyone heard anything about Crosby’s return?

  7. Who’s responsible for Melrose while he’s in town ?

  8. NHL makes a major announcement regarding “You Can Play,” becoming the first league to welcome and support everyone, regardless of sexual orientation.

  9. Go Pens.

  10. Sidney Crosby is in attendance in Tampa tonight. I’m going way out on a limb here but I doubt he’d rejoin the team unless he was cleared for some kind of on ice work.

  11. Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too.

  12. duper! Too bad he can only play w Sid!

  13. Penguins just owning the ice right now…. lol

2-0 Pens, goals by Jokinen and Dupuis

  14. Mike Lange was talking about Joey Mullen on the broadcast. Here’s an amazing stat. The Pens acquired him from Calgary (thanks Badger) at the tender age of 33. He still managed to score 153 goals for them.

  15. Could Malkin grow up before the playoffs start?

  16. It’s good to see B Morrow playing
    with confidence!

  17. Iginla slap shot goal

    3-1 Pens

  18. Send it in Jarome !

  19. Just watched Duper skate all the way across the ice and whack the puck down the ice to kill time on the Penalty.

  20. Pens weakness continues to be the PK

  21. Dan does not look pleased.

  22. Gettin’ sloppy, lazy play boys.

  23. I guess theyre giving Kunitz that goal?

  24. crombeen needs to shut his trap

  25. Okay on the to third period and more hitting and a bit more scoring.
    and a Hello to Brandie.

  26. Killorn w/ terrible turnover and then far side bad angle shot by Malkin… 4-2 Pens!!

  27. Nice pep talk ladies.

  28. So Tampa’s new coach is Jon Cooper. Hope they never have to play Michigan.

  29. love seeing Gino stick up for Cooke but officials losing control of this game allowing TB to take runs.

  30. Going to be an interesting finish for those final spots in the Eastern Conference. Washington a winner tonight. Winnipeg a likely winner. Islanders continue to play well.

I had Washington dead in the water three weeks ago.

  31. Murray point shot and The Joker (Jokinen) tips it into goal

    5-2 Pens

  32. Crombeen ya ^uss^ get your helmet off…loser!

  33. Loved how Murray fixed his hair before putting up the dukes.

  34. What’s with this $*&&! leaving his helmet on ? I hate any hockey player named Crombeen.

  35. There’s a quorum present in the penalty box.

  36. One shoulder check and Tanger takes out two Bolts AND a ref ;)

  37. When you let Tanner Glass score a goal, you should probably just forfeit the rest of the season

  38. Glass gets on the board….first goal as a Pen

  39. Tanner!!!

  40. Our long national nightmare is over.

  41. I can hear by father somewhere saying, “That’s why you never leave a game early, son.”

  42. I miss Guy Boucher’s scar.

  43. Tonight is a prime example of why Stamkos cannot win MVP this year – empty points. That’s a bad team.

  44. Great team effort, solid win and plenty of teachable moments for Bylsma to work on to keep the guys honest heading down the stretch.

Well, this is my last post until I return from vacation on 21st.

Until then, keep your head up and stick on the ice!

  45. It’s great seeing the new guys get more comfortable and things starting to gel.
