  1. Jandy says:

Ahhhhh.. a fresh page. I commented on the other thread….today was optional practice…but Geno and Kunitz didn’t deem it necessary to practice. If I have new linemates, I’m practicing to get some chemisty going. But hey, what do I know?

  2. tpbco says:

Kunitz I can understand, he has been an ironman so far and we need him as fresh as possible. Geno, unless he is playing injured, looked a little better against the ‘canes – jump wise – but overall has not played well and needs to get it together.

  3. Pucknutz says:

    My superstitious GO PENS!!

  4. 30 — 10. Just amazing!

Considering the games Geno has missed, the many Letang has missed, the recent Nealer misses, the time Fleury sat out, and what’s-his-name has missed a few too . . . . . . what a wonderful year.

OK, let’s start getting the rotation lined up so that we have our best two pitchers ready to go in the first 2 playoff games! THIS BE THE YEAR!!

  5. Iceman says:

Anyone hear any buzz on lines for tonight’s game? All I’ve heard is that Letang is playing and Vokoun in net. Here is my guess:

    Iginla – Malkin – Kunitz
    Dupuis – Jokinen – Morrow
    Cooke – Sutter – Kennedy
    Glass – Adams – Bennett

    Orpik – Eaton
    Murray – Niskanen
Letang – Engelland/Bortuzzo/Despres (No idea here)

  6. cherokee23 says:

Not too concerned…doesn’t Bylsma call em maintenance days….Geno’s been recovering from 2 injuries the last several weeks, take the rest when you can get it…. They are guaranteed a 1 or 2 seed….play of the new guys is getting better each game and with Neal & Crosby returning at some point, the lines won’t stay the same anyway….I think as long as new guys keep progressing they are in a good spot moving forward. FWITW, love Murray & Jokinen….Morrow is becoming more noticeable and his toughness is rubbing off on teammates(especially Cooke, he has had bit more of an edge lately and I think seeing Morrow has helped him get that back)…Iginla & whoever he plays with look on the verge of just plain breaking out

  7. Pucknutz says:

Ya know, I was gonna exactly the same thing! lol
    Nice post!

  8. Pucknutz says:

say say say the same thing
Jandy you may be the typo queen but I am the leave a word out King!

  9. Brandie says:

I am signing in from Philipsburg PA. I started watching The Pens when I was a junior at Penn Hills High School in 1991. I remember the excitement of going for and getting The Cup when Mario was king. This feels similar to me. Anyway, this group seems like a nice bunch. Just figured I’d post. Enjoy the game everyone:-)

  10. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  11. Bizrow says:

    Welcome to Dejan’s Lunatics, Brandie

Phillipsburg added to the Lunatic Nation

    That makes us 329 locations.

Anyone else wishing to sign into the Nation, please post a reply to this post

  12. Milo Hamilton says:

Am I the only one hoping the Malkin-Kunitz-Iginla line does so well down the stretch that they’re forced to keep it together when everyone comes back ?

  13. Pucknutz says:

    No you are not.

  14. Milo Hamilton says:

Crosby-Dupuis-Neal sound good to you ?

  15. BillyBaduka says:

    Phoenixville, Pa

I had been content to be included in “Philly suburbs” but lts get this total to 500 or more.

  16. Milo Hamilton says:

    John Smiley.

  17. No, but Dupuis—Crosby—Iginla sure does.

Neal did not have harmony with Sidney while Geno was on the shelf.

Kunitz—Malkin—Neal sound like a heck of a line (best in NHL last season). A 50 goal scorer, a 40 goal scorer, and Mr. Glue Kunitz.

Iggy and Sid together could be scary, with Mr. Dependable Dupuis!

  18. Bizrow says:

Thanks, BB, added to the roster

  19. BillyBaduka says:

I’m not sure what line combinations to hope for.

I just hope they have time to get some chemistry before the start of the playoffs.

  20. BillyBaduka says:

    And Mike Piazza.

  21. Brandie says:

Thanks Silver and Bizrow for the awesome welcome. Makes it feel like home. Pucknutz….I second the LET’S GO PENS! :-)

DK: A belated welcome from me, too. I used to work here.

  22. BillyBaduka says:

Of course Piazza doesn’t have the Pirates connection.

  23. Brandie says:

    Whoops..Make that Silver.

  24. Pucknutz says:

Nice problem to have – thank you Mr. Shero!!

  25. Brandie says:

It keeps auto correcting me…sorry Arriba.

  26. Brandie says:

DK. It should make you proud to know your baby is in capable hands when you’re gone. Thank you for the welcome.

  27. Nice avatar, Pucksie. What is that? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.

I’ve asked Daquido Corleone what his is twice and he didn’t answer. Looks like a California alien or something.

  28. theplanisworking says:

So nice to follow a Pittsburgh sports team that we can actually concentrate on the games, and the chase for a championship.

    Go Pens !

Btw, has anyone heard anything about Crosby’s return?

  29. Milo Hamilton says:

Who’s responsible for Melrose while he’s in town ?

  30. Dave G says:

NHL makes a major announcement regarding “You Can Play,” becoming the first league to welcome and support everyone, regardless of sexual orientation.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nhl/2013/04/11/nhl-lgbt-you-can-play-gay-patrick-brian-burke/2074055/

  31. Pucknutz says:

Lucky , I do not know what it is, I just call it one-eye.
I got it on the PCH game site where I play endless games of solitaire ect.
I am sort of ambivalent about avatars but it looked better than the generic smiley face they had.
It looks like a “gimlet eyed smart-ass” to me which fits me to a T. LOL

  32. theplanisworking says:

    The Mullet Police.

  33. TK39 says:

Hi Bizrow, I probably spelled it wrong previously but my town was spelled wrong on the master list. I’m in Tyngsboro Massachusetts. I think the n and the g are reversed on the full list.

  34. TK39 says:

I read in an article today that when everyone is healthy Eaton will play with Letang. Not sure if they’ll want to start that now that Letang is back or wait until Martin is healthy as well. I’m not sure that I’d bump Engelland/Bortuzzo/Despres up to play with Orpik.

  35. Arriba Wilver says:

As long as you don’t call me Kyle Stark. ;-)

  36. Jandy says:

Puckers, you make me feel better! Lol

  37. Jandy says:

Hi Brandie! Nice to have another female on board. And you’re right. This is a great group. Lotta fun! I’m about an hour or so from you in Duncansville.

  38. Jandy says:

    +100000000000

  39. Jandy says:

He still has to get clearance from docs just to skate. Gonna be a bit.

  40. CWalton_67 says:

    Go Pens.

  41. Puck Planters,

    Thanks for ditching the shadowman.

    Your new picture looks gruesome!

  42. Walton’s Mountain,

You’ve not been here much. We’ve been missing you.

  43. Milo Hamilton says:

Sidney Crosby is in attendance in Tampa tonight. I’m going way out on a limb here but I doubt he’d rejoin the team unless he was cleared for some kind of on ice work.

  44. Jandy says:

    ZING!

  45. Jandy says:

Ehhhh maybe moral support? In any case I hope you’re right

  46. Milo Hamilton says:

Or maybe, in true hockey player fashion, he just wanted to join his teammates for a division winning celebration at some of the fine establishments along Dale Mabry Highway.

  47. Jandy says:

    Groat I like your lines!

  48. Drew71 says:

    i LOVE Dale Mabry.

    and Dale Mabry loves me.

Do I need to explain that?

  49. Milo Hamilton says:

Not to me you don’t. Or hockey players, for that matter.

  50. Jandy says:

    Now you’re onto it!

  51. JandyGirl,

First I thought you were talking about the “lines” I have used on you.

Then I realized you were talking about my listed Penguin lines.

    I’m happy about both!!

  52. Milo Hamilton says:

Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too.

  53. Sarah says:

duper! Too bad he can only play w Sid!

  54. Jandy says:

I like this! My cap’n n coke is good too

  55. Explain, Drewmeister! I’ve never gone across that bridge when I’m in Bradenton and I am ignorant of the Dale Mabry reference.

  56. Eric Bowser says:

Penguins just owning the ice right now…. lol

2-0 Pens, goals by Jokinen and Dupuis

  57. Most underpaid (and I do not talk about salary lightly) player in the NHL!!

  58. Keep Stamkos from scoring so Sid has a chance to lead league.

  59. Jandy says:

    Amen Groat!

  60. Drew71 says:

    Pittsburgh. Liberty Avenue. 1970.

    There.

  61. Got it!!!

Also, made me laugh out loud!

  62. Jandy says:

Ahhh Groat my friend, I LOVE your “lines” :)

  63. Milo Hamilton says:

Mike Lange was talking about Joey Mullen on the broadcast. Here’s an amazing stat. The Pens acquired him from Calgary (thanks Badger) at the tender age of 33. He still managed to score 153 goals for them.

  64. Jandy says:

    I loved watching Joey play.

  65. Milo Hamilton says:

And you know what else. A lot of guys play great at home and disappear on the road. Dupuis comes up big on the road.

  66. Sarah says:

Could Malkin grow up before the playoffs start?

  67. Eric Bowser says:

He has to cut down on the selfish penalties, no doubt.

  68. JohninOshkosh says:

Arn’t you in Disneyworld yet? Is it World or Land in Fla-never have gotten that straight.

  69. Eric Bowser says:

    Disney World = Florida

    Disneyland = California

We’ll be leaving tomorrow afternoon, driving through the night for a 10 am arrival to check-in and go to Animal Kingdom.

  70. JohninOshkosh says:

    Have fun, Eric.

Drive fast and take chances. :)

  71. Brandie says:

Thanks for the welcome. I can’t respond to you by name because of auto correct. It calls you Handy.

  72. Eric Bowser says:

Wife is driving the first half until about midnight and then she’ll sleep and I’ll have the final 10 hours to drive at my liking… of course, she’s already warned me, no Griswold routes.

  73. Papa Croz says:

It’s good to see B Morrow playing
    with confidence!

  74. Jandy says:

You guys gonna meet up with Matt by chance?

  75. Jandy says:

He sure looks a lot more comfortable doesn’t he?

  76. Jandy says:

Sarah I’m glad you said it first this time. I’ve been raggin on Malkin and his dorktard penalties a lot lately. he gets me all riled up.

  77. Eric Bowser says:

    Iginla slap shot goal

    3-1 Pens

  78. Milo Hamilton says:

    Send it in Jarome !

  79. Jandy says:

    Nice!

  80. Eric Bowser says:

He said he was leaving Saturday and already visited Animal Kingdom, which is the park we’re heading to first since we want to make that a ‘short’ day after all the driving.

  81. Jandy says:

Just watched Duper skate all the way across the ice and whack the puck down the ice to kill time on the Penalty.

  82. Eric Bowser says:

Pens weakness continues to be the PK

  83. JohninOshkosh says:

    Dan does not look pleased.

  84. Brandie says:

    Bylsma needs Pep to Bismol.

  85. Jandy says:

The guys need to stop taking dumb azz penalties

  86. Jandy says:

    oh well…lol

  87. JohninOshkosh says:

    :)

    And welcome.

  88. Brandie says:

    Gettin’ sloppy, lazy play boys.

  89. sarah says:

I guess theyre giving Kunitz that goal?

  90. Bizrow says:

Thanks, TK39, no it was probably my fault

I went to the Jandy school of typing ;-)

  91. Jandy says:

crombeen needs to shut his trap

  92. MadTurk says:

Okay on the to third period and more hitting and a bit more scoring.
    and a Hello to Brandie.

  93. sarah says:

I think Sarge used to keep him in line.

  94. Jandy says:

    Geno!!!!

  95. Eric Bowser says:

Killorn w/ terrible turnover and then far side bad angle shot by Malkin… 4-2 Pens!!

  96. Milo Hamilton says:

    Nice pep talk ladies.

  97. Milo Hamilton says:

So Tampa’s new coach is Jon Cooper. Hope they never have to play Michigan.

  98. Eric Bowser says:

love seeing Gino stick up for Cooke but officials losing control of this game allowing TB to take runs.

  99. JohninOshkosh says:

Going to be an interesting finish for those final spots in the Eastern Conference. Washington a winner tonight. Winnipeg a likely winner. Islanders continue to play well.

I had Washington dead in the water three weeks ago.

  100. Jandy says:

    Jokinen!!!

  101. Eric Bowser says:

Murray point shot and The Joker (Jokinen) tips it into goal

    5-2 Pens

  102. JohninOshkosh says:

    And the rout is on!

  103. Jandy says:

You got it right Eric…this is on officials

  104. Jandy says:

Crombeen ya ^uss^ get your helmet off…loser!

  105. JohninOshkosh says:

Loved how Murray fixed his hair before putting up the dukes.

  106. Milo Hamilton says:

What’s with this $*&&! leaving his helmet on ? I hate any hockey player named Crombeen.

  107. Eric Bowser says:

I hate fighting but if you have the time to start a fight and one guy takes the lid off, then you need to take yours off.

  108. Milo Hamilton says:

There’s a quorum present in the penalty box.

  109. Jandy says:

    only ^ussie^ don’t

  110. Milo Hamilton says:

I think we even used the same word.

  111. Brandie says:

Excellent use of the word quorum. Quite erudite.

  112. Brandie says:

Coming for you in The Mullet Mobile.

  113. Jandy says:

One shoulder check and Tanger takes out two Bolts AND a ref ;)

  114. Brandie says:

    Glad he’s back.

  115. Jandy says:

    You and me both!

  116. You said a mouthful on that one. Or a bowl game.

  117. Eric Bowser says:

    OMG Tanner Glass

    OMG

  118. J Walter Weatherman says:

When you let Tanner Glass score a goal, you should probably just forfeit the rest of the season

  119. Jandy says:

Glass gets on the board….first goal as a Pen

  120. JohninOshkosh says:

    Tanner!!!

  121. Milo Hamilton says:

Our long national nightmare is over.

  122. Milo Hamilton says:

    I think they have.

  123. Brandie says:

    Finally. What a relief.

  124. JohninOshkosh says:

I can hear by father somewhere saying, “That’s why you never leave a game early, son.”

  125. Milo Hamilton says:

    I miss Guy Boucher’s scar.

  126. J Walter Weatherman says:

Tonight is a prime example of why Stamkos cannot win MVP this year – empty points. That’s a bad team.

  127. Jandy says:

Milo, hubby asked me “Where is the guy with the scar?” lol

  128. Jandy says:

See? I TOLD ya we agreed on a lot of things ;)

  129. Eric Bowser says:

Great team effort, solid win and plenty of teachable moments for Bylsma to work on to keep the guys honest heading down the stretch.

Well, this is my last post until I return from vacation on 21st.

Until then, keep your head up and stick on the ice!

  130. Jandy says:

It’s great seeing the new guys get more comfortable and things starting to gel.

  131. Jandy says:

    Enjoy, Eric, we’ll miss you!

  132. Jandy says:

Carolina ignored Bortuzzo in front of the net and he burned them. Lightning made the same mistake with Glass.

  133. Jandy says:

    Priceless, OshKosh, priceless lol

  134. theplanisworking says:

    Melrose’s hair gel?

  135. Jandy says:

    LOL!
