Comments

  1. Good to be first for a change. Let’s go Bucs!! One game at a time.

  2. A Roberto, my good man, seems that we tied.

  3. MadTurk says:

On the morning thread Tiger was being spoke of. My question is did he take the same approach when dropping his pants as he did for dropping his ball?

  4. MadTurk says:

maybe he is thinking “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” ?

  5. JRay3 says:

Big win last night to start the series, now focus must turn to winning the series. This seems to be the preferred lineup versus RH pitchers.

Any word on who is throwing for Bucs tomorrow or what is being done to rotation in Wandy’s absence?

  6. Should have taken warning
It’s just people mourning, running, hiding, lost
Couldn’t find, find a place to go
So it’s RED skies at night, RED skies at night
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh oh, oh

Bucs had quite their FIXX of offense yesterday….

Let’s open The Window…What’ll ya have? What’ll ya have?
As always this is just for fun and entertainment purposes.

Max “wager” is 100 units on each separate line.
All “wagers” must be divisible by 5.
Please reply in this box, makes it much easier for me to “book-keep” that way.

Anyone can play, and everyone should try!

**The Window is on twitter, @TheBuccoWindow, feel free to follow**

Thanks to all for playing and good luck!!

  7. Drew71 says:

There’s a Nutting joke in there if anyone wants to take it.

Not me. I don’t go for cheap laughs.

At least not since my honeymoon.

  8. Bizrow says:

    Well, I’m thinking under

But the way I’ve been betting and losing….

    100 on the OVAH

    Lets Go Bucs

  9. Drew71 says:

Looking at the weekend’s pitching matchup, it’s a good thing they hung on and won game one.

  10. Playoffs, I am leaning Under for 50. Thanks.

  11. Bizrow says:

I need a laugh right now, please tell the joke

    And not the honeymoon one

    Happy Birthday (its coming) Drew

Aries? Same as me, it figures

  12. Bizrow says:

Pedro has been dropped in 2582 teams in Yahoo Fantasy

I have 5 teams and have him in 4 of them

    Sigh….

  13. Pucknutz says:

    100 on the under

  14. tdb1977 says:

100 on the over. Locke is going to pitch some lights out ball tonight and the Bucs are going to send the Reds to another lose!

  15. cherokee23 says:

    100 under

  16. Jason81 says:

    50 on the OVER, please.

  17. JMB says:

    100 on UNDER.

    Thx!

  18. JMB says:

He’ll heat up sooner or later.

  19. JohninOshkosh says:

Saw The Fixx on 07/23/83 at old Comiskey Park, Chicago. Nice use of a Fixx jam that is not on “Reach the Beach.”

Like your post, don’t like the line:

    25/Under

  20. Thundercrack says:

5 teams! You may have a problem. ;-)

(Not to mention that one of your problems is that you have Pedro on so many of your teams)

  21. Joey Mellons says:

    35 on the over.

  22. JohninOshkosh says:

Jose Reyes will be out 1-3 months after seriously straining his ankle last night.

Things not going well for our friends north of the border.

  23. Thundercrack says:

Betcha they wished they had traded for John McDonald

  24. JohninOshkosh says:

Ha! Yeah, I was thinking that. I like the Pirates lineup overall. They will start to play to potential, I’m sure of it. And if anyone strains an ankle or breaks a bone in a melee, then it won’t be millions and millions down the drain.

  25. JRay3 says:

Thanks for the info…hope the rest helps McPherson get back on track.

  26. MadTurk says:

Another Aries? me too. should we have an ovr and under on it?

  27. Thundercrack says:

Tomorrow will be my first game of the year.

I’ve seen enough of Phil Irwin in one spring training strart.

  28. JRay3 says:

Good evening to the window. Seems like a great night to take a series from the Reds.

Tonight’s line centers on Jeff Locke who in his first start of the season made it theough six innings in a loss to the Dodgers. In his eight starts after his late season recall in 2012, Locke made it through six in just two of the eight.

However when looking for a trend Locke has gone six in two straight starts dating to last year. To stay in the rotation he must be able to provide some innings and this is really the year he has to take a step forward.

Tough line so I will take 40 on the OVER…thanks and Go Bucs!

  29. Karen22 says:

    50 on the UNDER.

  30. JRay3 says:

You saw him pitch? What was your scouting report of him? For a 21st round pick in ’09 he has progressed through system at healthy clip. Minors numbers look decent.

  31. Chico says:

50 on the over! Lets go Bucs!

  32. Frankie says:

    100 on the under

  33. Arriba Wilver says:

    50 on the UNDER, please.

  34. Thundercrack says:

    Irwin is tall.

Ok, just an old joke there.

He started against the Yankees and didn’t last long. Got hit hard.
I heard that he throws hard, but at the game I was at I was sitting in the LF bleachers so I really couldn’t tell.

  35. Arriba Wilver says:

    +1

  36. JRay3 says:

Nice job by Locke to battle that half inning, tight strike zone, horrible balk call. He is keeping ball low and around the corners.

  37. Lad9 says:

I may be too late but I will take 50 on the over. Thanks Playoffs

  38. Arriba Wilver says:

The home plate ump last night was terrible, and also squeezed the zone, but seemed to be equally bad for both sides.

  39. Nice meatball, Locke, @#$%!%#

  40. Let’s hope the second time through the order will be better, but they let ueto settle in without much fireworks, and now are in the 1-0 hole on the scoreboard.

  41. JRay3 says:

Locke makes quick work of Reds in 4th and doing his part to keep game close…time for bats to pick it up. Hope to see some better approaches as Cueto has stayed primarily away from the Buc hitters.

  42. Umps, screwed us there, we should have had two runs instead of one since Marte was definitely hit on the elbow.

  43. JRay3 says:

GI Jones with line drive RBI double as Cutch flashes his speed…tie game.

  44. Pedro with a run saving stab!!

  45. Barmes was robbed earlier, so Pedro nicely robs Votto.

  46. Locke lucked out against Bruce, but comes away unscathed to keep it tied at 1. Come on bats.

  47. cherokee23 says:

Locke is hanging tough, but some of these batted balls are wicked. Nicknaming him “chuck & duck”!

  48. Sorry to see him get hurt, but lets jump on the Reds bullpen!

  49. That kind of fits, because his last start against the Dodgers, it looked asthoughh e was ducking on every batted ball whether it was near him or not.

  50. cherokee23 says:

and the under wins! didn’t expect it that way, though

  51. Come on JHay – the Cincy Kid!!

  52. Way to go Starling!! 2-1 Buccos.

  53. Just checking in. What happened to Cueto?

  54. JRay3 says:

Starling Marte continues his torrid start with RBI single to give Bucs 2-1 lead. He has done his part from the lead off position.

Time for the bullpen to protect the lead for Locke who is on pace for the win.

  55. Drew71 says:

    What happened to Cueto?

  56. Like JRay said, his minors numbers are good, if he could get that to translate. He’s pitched well so far in Indy. Small sample size.

  57. JRay3 says:

Grimaced in pain after throwing strikeout pitch to Alvarez, and once again on first pitch to Snider…was grabbing his bicep on throwing arm.

  58. Drew71 says:

    Thanks.

So Fredo finally had a meaningful strikeout, huh?

  59. Drew71 says:

Fredo beat the crap outta him.

  60. JRay3 says:

How about that the Pirates throw out a would be base stealer!

  61. Good they did, followed by a hit.

  62. They just announced that it was something with his tricep.

  63. Then followed by a relief pitcher getting a hit.

  64. JRay3 says:

This is not the same Justin Wilson I witnessed against Arizona…but after giving up back to back hits to .182 hitting Itzuras and relief pitche Simon, manages to escape the inning unharmed.

Time to tack on a few more on Reds pen.

  65. Justin’s all over the place tonight. Hurdle may be leaving him in too long tonight, but let’s hope not. How about a DP ball here.

  66. Drew71 says:

    Fredo Alvarone

  67. It’s a 2-1 type a night. The Pens lead 2-1 and the Bucs lead 2-1. Keep it going Pens and Bucs!

  68. JRay3 says:

Flash the Z Tabata…Jose comes through with pinch hit RBI double 3-1 Buccos!

  69. Jose! Jose! Jose! Jose, Jose! 3-1 Bucs as Tabata lifts a double to Right-center.

  70. pattonbb says:

    Great at-bat by Tabata.

Terrible tattoo on his neck, but what an outstanding at-bat.

  71. The Gunner says:

It’s about time Tabata contributed something!!!

  72. Well, with the three runs tonight, the Line number 2 from last night wins on the over.

  73. cherokee23 says:

is that really a tattoo? Saw that last night, thought/hoped it was badly shaped bruise

  74. theplanisworking says:

Its a pair of lips…………… I think they belonged to his former 40 year-old wife……………

  75. pattonbb says:

Not a bruise. Red lips tattoo.

  76. JRay3 says:

Solid defense being shown by Alvarez and Barmes….Melancon with another 1-2-3 inning as he continues to be very sharp and looking much like the closer from two years ago.

  77. Bullpen picking it up. Nice work to get through 8. Some more insurance would be nice.

  78. The Pens just matched the Bucs tonight with a late PP goal to make it 3-1.

  79. 3-2-1 Win for the Pens! Let’s make it a sweep tonight, Bucs!

  80. cherokee23 says:

so much for expecting him to mature, grow up a bit! as long as he hits, though!

  81. Thanks Roberto. At times I though I was talking to myself, but that is usually not that much different than normal.

  82. Jandy says:

I talk to myself AND I answer myself. Makes me certifiably insane ;)

  83. theplanisworking says:

You would be the perfect mascot for this blog! ;)

  84. Jandy says:

    lol

    Mother Theresa, mascot….uhhh…fail!

  85. Thundercrack says:

    Great catch by Gaby.

    #deadlinedeal

  86. For Playoffs, from yesterday’s pick three:

Line 1 – Under wins with 3 hits

Line 2 – Over wins with 9 runs for the series

Line 3 – Over wins with the series winning 2nd game tonight

From tonight – Under wins with Locke pitching only 5 innings

  87. JRay3 says:

Behind five efficient innings from Jeff Locke and four shutdown innings by the Pirates pen including Jason Grilli’s fifth save, the Bucs down the Reds for the second consecutive night 3-1 to take the series and there was nooooooooooo doubt about it.

The Bucs will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon when Phil Irwin makes his season debut.

  88. Raise it baby. How about a sweep tomorrow, boys!!! Get greedy and stay loose.

  89. Drew71 says:

    Wow. Just wow.

  90. JRay3 says:

Pitates have now won four of their past five ball games and have taken two consecutive series against top end NL teams. Go Bucs!

  91. cherokee23 says:

I gotta say, the bucs looked like a really solid baseball team tonight. They did a lot of little things really well. I expected to watch more of the hockey game tonight, but turned out the other way around!

  92. Thundercrack says:

I am going to the game tomorrow. Looking for .500!

  93. Arriba Wilver says:

And we’re tied with the Reds.

  94. Karen22 says:

    WOOHOO! I’m 3 for 4!

  95. Karen22 says:

    Both teams…3-1 Good Guys!

    Nice night, Pittsburgh!

  96. Good job! I was just happy to go 4 for 4 this time. Last time there was a pick three, I screwed up and forgot to send in bid amounts and missed out on another good one. Good luck tomorrow! Let’s go sweeping!!

  97. Thundercrack says:

87 pitches in 5 innings by Locke

  98. Jandy says:

    Good job :)

  99. Jandy says:

Have a good time and bring them luck!

  100. Jandy says:

    Amen!

  101. Drew71 says:

Now we know who to blame

  102. twentytwo22 says:

It’s OK to sweep. Sweep is good.

  103. Sorry for the lack of commentary and timely updates the past few days.
Lots going on, had to DVR the games and watch them later.
Just got finished with tonight’s game.
    Gotta love another WIN.
I’ll have everything updated in time for the Sunday PICK ‘EM line.
    Night All.
