  1. Good to be first for a change. Let’s go Bucs!! One game at a time.

  2. On the morning thread Tiger was being spoke of. My question is did he take the same approach when dropping his pants as he did for dropping his ball?

  3. maybe he is thinking “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” ?

  4. Big win last night to start the series, now focus must turn to winning the series. This seems to be the preferred lineup versus RH pitchers.

Any word on who is throwing for Bucs tomorrow or what is being done to rotation in Wandy’s absence?

  5. Should have taken warning
It’s just people mourning, running, hiding, lost
Couldn’t find, find a place to go
So it’s RED skies at night, RED skies at night
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh oh, oh

Bucs had quite their FIXX of offense yesterday….

Let’s open The Window…What’ll ya have? What’ll ya have?
As always this is just for fun and entertainment purposes.

Max “wager” is 100 units on each separate line.
All “wagers” must be divisible by 5.
Please reply in this box, makes it much easier for me to “book-keep” that way.

Anyone can play, and everyone should try!

**The Window is on twitter, @TheBuccoWindow, feel free to follow**

Thanks to all for playing and good luck!!

  6. Pedro has been dropped in 2582 teams in Yahoo Fantasy

I have 5 teams and have him in 4 of them

    Sigh….

  7. Jose Reyes will be out 1-3 months after seriously straining his ankle last night.

Things not going well for our friends north of the border.

    • Betcha they wished they had traded for John McDonald

      • Ha! Yeah, I was thinking that. I like the Pirates lineup overall. They will start to play to potential, I’m sure of it. And if anyone strains an ankle or breaks a bone in a melee, then it won’t be millions and millions down the drain.

  8. Tomorrow will be my first game of the year.

I’ve seen enough of Phil Irwin in one spring training strart.

    • You saw him pitch? What was your scouting report of him? For a 21st round pick in ’09 he has progressed through system at healthy clip. Minors numbers look decent.

  9. 50 on the over! Lets go Bucs!

  10. Nice job by Locke to battle that half inning, tight strike zone, horrible balk call. He is keeping ball low and around the corners.

    • The home plate ump last night was terrible, and also squeezed the zone, but seemed to be equally bad for both sides.

  11. Nice meatball, Locke, @#$%!%#

  12. Let’s hope the second time through the order will be better, but they let ueto settle in without much fireworks, and now are in the 1-0 hole on the scoreboard.

  13. Locke makes quick work of Reds in 4th and doing his part to keep game close…time for bats to pick it up. Hope to see some better approaches as Cueto has stayed primarily away from the Buc hitters.

  14. Umps, screwed us there, we should have had two runs instead of one since Marte was definitely hit on the elbow.

  15. GI Jones with line drive RBI double as Cutch flashes his speed…tie game.

  16. Pedro with a run saving stab!!

  17. Barmes was robbed earlier, so Pedro nicely robs Votto.

  18. Locke lucked out against Bruce, but comes away unscathed to keep it tied at 1. Come on bats.

  19. Locke is hanging tough, but some of these batted balls are wicked. Nicknaming him “chuck & duck”!

  20. Sorry to see him get hurt, but lets jump on the Reds bullpen!

  21. and the under wins! didn’t expect it that way, though

  22. Come on JHay – the Cincy Kid!!

  23. Way to go Starling!! 2-1 Buccos.

  24. Just checking in. What happened to Cueto?

  25. Starling Marte continues his torrid start with RBI single to give Bucs 2-1 lead. He has done his part from the lead off position.

Time for the bullpen to protect the lead for Locke who is on pace for the win.

  26. What happened to Cueto?

  27. How about that the Pirates throw out a would be base stealer!

  28. Then followed by a relief pitcher getting a hit.

  29. This is not the same Justin Wilson I witnessed against Arizona…but after giving up back to back hits to .182 hitting Itzuras and relief pitche Simon, manages to escape the inning unharmed.

Time to tack on a few more on Reds pen.

  30. Justin’s all over the place tonight. Hurdle may be leaving him in too long tonight, but let’s hope not. How about a DP ball here.

  31. It’s a 2-1 type a night. The Pens lead 2-1 and the Bucs lead 2-1. Keep it going Pens and Bucs!

  32. Flash the Z Tabata…Jose comes through with pinch hit RBI double 3-1 Buccos!

  33. Jose! Jose! Jose! Jose, Jose! 3-1 Bucs as Tabata lifts a double to Right-center.

  34. Great at-bat by Tabata.

Terrible tattoo on his neck, but what an outstanding at-bat.

  35. It’s about time Tabata contributed something!!!

  36. Well, with the three runs tonight, the Line number 2 from last night wins on the over.

  37. Solid defense being shown by Alvarez and Barmes….Melancon with another 1-2-3 inning as he continues to be very sharp and looking much like the closer from two years ago.

  38. Bullpen picking it up. Nice work to get through 8. Some more insurance would be nice.

  39. The Pens just matched the Bucs tonight with a late PP goal to make it 3-1.

  40. 3-2-1 Win for the Pens! Let’s make it a sweep tonight, Bucs!

  41. Thanks Roberto. At times I though I was talking to myself, but that is usually not that much different than normal.

  42. Great catch by Gaby.

    #deadlinedeal

  43. For Playoffs, from yesterday’s pick three:

Line 1 – Under wins with 3 hits

Line 2 – Over wins with 9 runs for the series

Line 3 – Over wins with the series winning 2nd game tonight

From tonight – Under wins with Locke pitching only 5 innings

  44. Behind five efficient innings from Jeff Locke and four shutdown innings by the Pirates pen including Jason Grilli’s fifth save, the Bucs down the Reds for the second consecutive night 3-1 to take the series and there was nooooooooooo doubt about it.

The Bucs will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon when Phil Irwin makes his season debut.

  45. Raise it baby. How about a sweep tomorrow, boys!!! Get greedy and stay loose.

  46. Wow. Just wow.

  47. Pitates have now won four of their past five ball games and have taken two consecutive series against top end NL teams. Go Bucs!

  48. I gotta say, the bucs looked like a really solid baseball team tonight. They did a lot of little things really well. I expected to watch more of the hockey game tonight, but turned out the other way around!

  49. I am going to the game tomorrow. Looking for .500!

  50. And we’re tied with the Reds.

  51. Both teams…3-1 Good Guys!

    Nice night, Pittsburgh!

  52. It’s OK to sweep. Sweep is good.

  53. Sorry for the lack of commentary and timely updates the past few days.
Lots going on, had to DVR the games and watch them later.
Just got finished with tonight’s game.
    Gotta love another WIN.
I’ll have everything updated in time for the Sunday PICK ‘EM line.
    Night All.
