  1. Bizrow says:

Playoffs asked that this be posted

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

    Line #1
Total RUNS SCORED by the Pirates in Innings 1-4 in tonight’s game
    Line is 2.5

    Line #2
Total EXTRA BASES HITS by Pirates hitters in tonight’s game
    Line is 2.5

  2. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Travis Snider in an RBI spot. Let’s see what he can do. I believe he deserves his shot at driving in runs.

  3. Bizrow says:

I’ll take a 100 nuclear nugget plunge on the Over for both lines.

Tonight we get AJ some runs

    Tonight we break Rask.

  4. Naterosboro says:

    Don’t mind Gaby playing 1B.

Do mind him in the 4hole.

  5. Bill Born says:

    100 on line2 Over

  6. cmat0829 says:

interesting lines…either the Bucs break out of it bigtime or they struggle to score a run. Let’s go optimistic on this, 100 OVER both lines.

  7. Bizrow says:

A day off for Cutch? Any problems with him healthwise?

  8. Jandy says:

100 units on the over…both lines, please. I missed the last couple lines…time to lose some more lol. Biz…move over! :P

  9. Nate83 says:

    Line 1 – 50 on the under

    Line 2 – 100 on the over.

  10. Thundercrack says:

Let me be the first to post

  11. JRay3 says:

Yeah with Cutch out of lineup tonight, rather see Sanchez and Alvarez flip flop, the team keeps saying Pedro is the “one-day” four hitter.

  12. JRay3 says:

Good afternoon to the Window. The Pirates this year have a 6-12 record in the opening game of a series, but they have gone 24-5 in the games the rest of the series following an opening loss. Well hear is to earning their 7th win in a series opener tonight.

On to the lines for this evening on Multi-line Monday:

    Line 1 – 100 on the UNDER

Line 2- 50 on the OVER

    Thanks and Let’s Go Bucs!

  13. He looked pretty healthy in that mob scene when he dragged Snider back to the group after the GW hit.

  14. theplanisworking says:

The Titanic has absolutely nothing on you 2! ;)

  15. theplanisworking says:

Clint and Neal luvs them some veterans. ;)

  16. NMR says:

Or Clint could just start Garrett Jones against a righty.

Pretty sure he can hit those guys bettre than Gaby.

  17. Kevin says:

Line #1: 100 “bouncing Eat’N’Park smilie” cookies on the OVER
Line #2: 100 “raise the jolly roger” t-shirts on the OVER
    Thanks Mr. Playoffs/bizrow, sirs.

  18. Naterosboro says:

    Hell uva glove.

  19. meglasdad says:

Great. Burnett seldom gets any run support as is, so we decide to sit Cutch tonight. That should go well.

  20. NMR says:

    At what?

  21. Nate83 says:

Mercer is batting .250. That isn’t exactly enougth to start playing him a majority of the games in my opinion. 15 extra hits in a season can’t make up for the defensive difference between the two. I’m OK with 1 start per series for Mercer at this time.

  22. Naterosboro says:

GI starting his “better” position tonight.

And in the world of WTF…

Lyle Overbay starting in RF tonight for the NYYankees.

    “@JackCurryYES 1h

Lyle Overbay will start in RF for Yankees tonight. In his 1,376th career game, he’ll make 1st appearance in OF. Yanks looking for offense.”

  23. NMR says:

    Ha, yeah, I’m an idiot.

  24. JRay3 says:

  25. Jones is in the lineup. Or did I misunderstand your post?

  26. cosmo says:

    line 1 100 under.

    line 2 100 over.

    thanks guys.

  27. Tom P. says:

Speaking of the mob scene after the GW hit, is there anyone else who thinks that the Pirates should maybe tone it down a little? I am all for celebrating, but I also remember a player for the Angels breaking his leg in a pile at home plate after a GW hit. There was a football coach who said, “When you score a touchdown, act like you have been in the endzone before.” Now that the Pirates have more than a few walkoffs this year, maybe a handshake or pat on the back is enough for awhile.

  28. Tell Milo that. He may want that $20.50 ball back. It might sell now for $22.

  29. JRay3 says:

And Cutch is the owner of a 3-10 career mark off of Medlan which includes a HR, 3B and a 1.164 OPS.

That said they do have to find times to rest him every once in awhile.

  30. Kevin says:

can I predict Gaby hits a 3-run HR in the first inning tonight? or is that just crazy. My predictions are a bit off. I predicted the penguins would win gm1 5-2… kinda way off. Sticking with my 3-1 penguin win prediction for gm2 though.

  31. cosmo says:

Tonight would be a great night for AJ to pitch a strong 8 inning gem.

  32. Naterosboro says:

If those pucks hit twine rather than iron, you’re prediction may have been spot on.

  33. Good points.

Maybe they could circle up and give each other the Zoltan sign. Might stay healthier that way.

  34. JRay3 says:

The Angel player (Morales?) may have slipped when he jumped onto the plate in celebration, that I do not condone.

As for the run around the field catch Travis Snider if you can celebration, most teams do that when walk-offs occur and to me it shows these guys are having fun, enjoying the moment and showing the camaraderie they have.

  35. NMR says:

    No, I’m just an idiot.

Glossed right over the 3-hole expecting Cutch to be there.

  36. Naterosboro says:

All MLB teams celebrate walkoff wins this way. Show me any team have a walkoff hit and just treat it as any other win, and I’ll show you a first.

And Kendrys Morales broke his leg because he jumped at home plate and landed awkwardly and then had people pile on.

I think the only thing at risk with that celebration is [maybe] a pulled hamstring ;-)

  37. Also good points.

  38. radio wave says:

At playoffs and biz: I will take 50 on the under for both lines tonight. Thank you.

  39. This just in. Cutch pulled his hamstring in his left leg during the celebration yesterday and will miss 2 weeks.

Jerry Sands was recalled from Indy to replace him.

    Just kidding. 8-)

  40. Dom says:

    #1 100 UNDER
    #2 100 OVER

  41. radio wave says:

I do not know the overall record, but does it feel like Atlanta is a mini house of horrors for the bucs?

  42. theplanisworking says:

I say they make 2 circles around the mound and home plate and all hold up “sustainable” signs.

Either that or do the “Electric Slide”……… ;)

  43. 21sthebest says:

Hurdle said Friday he was looking to give his outfielders some days off over the next 6 games.

  44. pattonbb says:

Tonight marks only the second Pirate game I’ve been able to attend in the last 4 years. Anyone care to make a guess at who sat out of the other game i saw? Yep, McCutchen.

“If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all…….”

  45. Naterosboro says:

Haha! Well, I guess this could be a good thing as I wanted to see what the “staple” of the Hanrahan trade could do.

  46. theplanisworking says:

    I pulled a hamstring once.

There WAS a ham at the end of the string. ;)

  47. Naterosboro says:

Well, maybe he’ll be needed to pinch hit tonight.

    And hit a bopper.

  48. 21sthebest says:

I feel for you. I really do. I was always frustrated all those years when the Larussa school of managing impacted Leyland/Lamont/McClendon and they rested our best players on Sundays. I always wondered why they didn’t wait a day and rest them the next day which was often on the road.

  49. Thundercrack says:

I would like to see if increased playing time would also increase Mercer’s contributions on offense. And to see if he can play the position on a more full time basis.

  50. Nate83 says:

I went to see a Cubs/Giants game while in Chicago back in 1994. Aside from seeing Wrigley field and the atmospher the only player I cared to see in that game was Barry Bonds. Just my luck he sat out that game. Well he pinch hit that game and hit a two run home run in the 8th to give the Giants the lead. It ended up being better then him playing the entire game. I hope you witness something close. Enjoy the game.

  51. 21sthebest says:

I bet it would. I believe baseball is a game you pretty much have to play everyday. You can’t beat reps. But I am skeptical about Mercer as an everyday shortstop. But he did show me a better arm yesterday than I thought.

  52. JRay3 says:

Tough break, I will never forget when my parents took me to Three Rivers Stadium in August of 1991 for my birthday into Pittsburgh from Virginia five hours to see the Pirates play.

I was so excited to hear the lineups and watch them in person and that day Leyland gave Barry Bonds the day off, talk about a devastated kid.

  53. Nate83 says:

I understand your side of it but I personally like known commodities when the team is playing well. I know Barmes isn’t great but I know what he is. I think at best Mercer is marginally better at this point in his career, but I also think he could go 2-30 over 8 games and be horrible in the field as well. Just personal preference.

  54. Frankie says:

    Line 1 under

    Line 2 over

    100 on each

  55. Tom P. says:

I went to see a Dodgers / Giants game in the late 1990’s while in San Francisco on my honeymoon. (We also went to see Phantom of the Opera two nights later, so I am a well-rounded guy). I was excited to see Raul Mondesi play in a rivalry game (when he was good) in an ESPN Sunday Night game. Raul got himself tossed in the first inning. Oh, well.

  56. JHadar says:

I don’t know. With the puzzling lack of runs for AJ recently, I would want McCutchen in there.

  57. Kevin says:

I agree. I think the game goes totally differently if Kunitz buries that puck instead of putting it off the pipe. Pretty sure Crosby has gotten a chance from the lower right circle and failed to elevate three times already in the playoffs. Ha, I almost said postseason. I certainly hope not. (post season)

  58. Arriba Wilver says:

  59. theplanisworking says:

    Me too.
I would like to see Mercer over Barmes.

Need all the lumber we can get.

  60. Ermine says:

    #1 100 under

    #2 100 under

  61. theplanisworking says:

    Ok, here we go………………..

Line 1 — 100 Humongous Hippos on the UNDER.
Line 2 — 100 Hurricane Hippos on the OVER.

Thank you Mr. Novacaine, errr I mean Playoffs! ;)

  62. Jason81 says:

I would like 100 on the OVER for both lines, please!

  63. Lad9 says:

Riding a season high one line winning streak, I will take the under on Line 1 and the over on Line 2 for 100 used rosin bags. Thank you Playoffs and Biz. Go Buccos and Go Pens!

  64. radio wave says:

Went to Fenway in 2007, so Red Sox Giants, Bonsett a homer Red Sox won.

  65. Arriba Wilver says:

Gotta say, though, Barmes’ OPS ## are criminal. .531 for the year.

  66. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

100 on the over for both lines

  67. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

The first step is admitting your faults…..good job NMR

  68. Arriba Wilver says:

Boy, checking out the record and the stats, when did Atlanta get good this year? Didn’t they kind of suck last time we played them? Or at least were underperforming?

  69. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Is it really that hard to catch Travis Snider?

  70. theplanisworking says:

I think they started out the year hot, we caught them on a downturn, and beat them.

They have been steady the rest of the year.

But I feel we can win 2/3 this time. :)

  71. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

Too small of a sample size

  72. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

I believe the Pirates started their downturn. They were 12-1 (something like that) going into the series.

  73. Arriba Wilver says:

Now that you say that, I do remember that. I guess I was too focused on the games with us. Hopefully we can start another downturn. :-)

  74. JHadar says:

I was at McCutchen’s first game at PNC — the first time I’d been to Pittsburgh since I saw the Bucs at Forbes Field. He was amazing, but they had traded McLouth the night before and the crowd was (how shall we say) restless.

McCutchen had a great game though — you could see right away that he was a pure athlete — probably could have excelled at any sport he chose.

  75. Jim S. says:

They were abslutely riding high when they ran into the non-regression buzzsaw. We started their downturn, and I hope we start another one for them.

  76. Ghost says:

The Braves have recently considered demoting B.J. Upton to AAA ball. He’s apparently been struggling badly (though he hit a walk-off last night, I think it was). Hope we’re catching him before he turns it around.

  77. Jim S. says:

That wasn’t nice … until the end.

  78. Bizrow says:

Yes it does, it met its fate

We, on the other hand, are still sinking ;-)

  79. Bizrow says:

They gotta practice that, been 20 years since it meant anything ;-)

  80. JHadar says:

    It might be the division.

    Atl vs
    East 15-6
    Central 6-4
    West 7-6
    AL 6-6
    Ttl 34-22

    Pitt vs
    East 10-5
    Central 17-10
    West 2-4
    AL 6-3
    Ttl 35-22

  81. theplanisworking says:

    Hippos dont have good memories.
    Forgive me.

  82. Nor Cal Stlrfanrc (Ryan) says:

    That would be nice.

  83. stickyweb says:

    I’ll take

    100 UNDER on line 1

    100 OVER on line 2

  84. Brandie says:

May I have 100 on the over for both lines please, Mr. Biz.

  85. Bizrow says:

    + 1

  86. Bizrow says:

Atlanta is not going to sustain ;-)

  87. Bizrow says:

Anyone else pulling against the Heat tonight?

Boy would I love a trifecta

PS Drew, that does not mean a tripleheader tonight for the PBC

  88. cherokee23 says:

    100 under both

  89. Brandie says:

Let’s kick him while he’s down…Pirates show no mercy!

  90. Brandie says:

    Excellence? Then I wholeheartedly agree.

  91. Joey Mellons says:

    100 and under on both.

  92. Thundercrack says:

I think he had the walk-off hit on Saturday and may have hit a homer yesterday

  93. Dadtackular says:

    Line one 100 under
    Line two 100 over

  94. JD says:

100 on the over please. Both lines.

  95. Thou shalt not bear false witness!

  96. Go Pacers!!!

I will be watching after Bucs and Pens both win!

  97. JohninOshkosh says:

    Go Pacers!

    Central Division Represent!!

  98. Matt hoffman says:

I went to a Cardinals game about 20 years ago and got caught in traffic. I got to Busch Stadium in the middle of the 1st and the other team (Dodgers or Giants, can’t remember exactly) scored 11 runs in the top half of the inning and not another run was scored the rest of the day. (Only 2 or 3 hits at that!)

  99. Ermine says:

Two walks in the bottom of the second so far. Only ONE out

    Come on AJ !

  100. Matt hoffman says:

I am rooting agaist the Heat tonight, but I am from Indiana!

  101. Ermine says:

    Got out of it .

    Now get some runs.

  102. Ermine says:

Speed kills. Marte bunt single..Good start.

  103. Drew71 says:

    i HATE bunts!
    i HATE bunts!
    i HATE bunts!

  104. Ermine says:

looked like Marte got robbed, on a caught stealing

  105. Ermine says:

More than you hate the Reds?? :)

  106. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Biz– Big THANK YOU for posting the lines for me today!!

  107. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Steve J Smith — The Window misses you…Where you been man?

  108. Ermine says:

They got a break on the call on Walker. it evens out I guess

  109. Ermine says:

BIGGGG hit by Gabby !!! 1-0 Good Guys

  110. Ermine says:

I guess I’m the only one watching the Bucs lol

  111. Ermine says:

How did it go at the dentist? Are you out for two days? :)

  112. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    It went quite well.
    No cavities and no lectures.
I’m available off the bench tonite if Clint needs me…

  113. Playoffs by 2012 says:

I’m here and watching, too boss.

  114. I’m here. I started tanking and got too busy, so I have just been trying to enjoy the games as best I can. If I get a chance to slow down, I’ll put some more bids in. You still going to any of the Bucs-Nats games?

  115. Join the club. At times recently it has felt like that. You would think there was some other Pittsburgh team playing right now.

  116. Ermine says:

I thought the Riverhounds were off

  117. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    I completely understand, man.
    Life gets crazy sometimes.
I just get worried when the originals go missing for periods of time.

I plan on going to the Monday and Wednesday games in DC.
Possibly on Tuesday as well, but that one is up in the air at the moment.
You’re doing all 3 night games right?

  118. Ermine says:

At least AJ has a lead, for a change

  119. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    + 1

  120. Ermine says:

It’s kinda strange seeing a lineup with three guys batting under .200 and it’s not the Pirates

  121. Ermine says:

So much for a lead. He’s getting everything up.

  122. Thanks to that crappy strike zone. Burnett had to throw it right down the dang middle to get any chance at a call. Does the ump know that McCann is a tall dude?

  123. Yep. ill’ be in touch before that to see where to meet at.

  124. Parrothead01 says:

    A. J.’s run support may be terrible, but many games he is his own worst enemy. A large numbers of the innings he gives up runs start with a lead off walk.

  125. So far Bruins 5 goals in two games, Pens 0. 2-0 and Bruins smell blood.

  126. these umps BLOW!!! Call the strike zone in the book, not your own.

  127. Thundercrack says:

The umpiring is just awful. MLB has to do something.

A good start would set up their own training school/system. As it is now these lousy umps have their own schools and teach the new umps

  128. Arriba Wilver says:

I guess we add WTFYLA to the AJ lexicon. (You Looking At are the last 3 words.)

  129. Ermine says:

Martin wasn’t showing him up.. The fans didn’t come to see the $&#@ing umpire.

  130. Ermine says:

As much as it helped the Bucs yesterday. Molina didn’t deserve to be thrown out..It’s a fine for throwing equipment

  131. Parrothead01 says:

I am really enjoying this season so far, but the Pirates inability to hit in the clutch or with runners in scoring position is so frustrating.

  132. Playoffs by 2012 says:

As annoying as the umpire is tonight, the lack of hitting with runners in scoring position is exponentially more annoying.

  133. Jones got his wish to pull the ball as he was trying to do to those outside pitches, so that is why the inning ended as it did. They need to start going with these pitches.

  134. Playoffs by 2012 says:

This is the AJ Burnett that Yankees fans came to love.

  135. These 2-run homers are also getting annoying. Now the Pirates score matches the Pens score after 1 period 4-1.

  136. Both are losing. Forgot to mention that.

  137. Ermine says:

What the hell just happen. I went to the bathroom..

  138. Three 2-run homers in this freaking game. This may be Burnett’s 12-run game like last year’s against St. Louis. 6-1 now.

  139. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Burnett is going to end up with a sprained neck watching all these go over the fence tonight.

  140. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    Cool. Sounds like a plan.
    First round is on me!

  141. They need to get off this method of losing the first game and winning the other two or three. How about a long winning streak for a change.

  142. Ermine says:

Its not often you leave for 5 minutes and you miss two , two run HR’s.. This is a nasty night

  143. Thundercrack says:

    Hold it next time

  144. Playoffs by 2012 says:

  145. Ermine says:

It’s time to get some back.

    There’s still four more innings.

  146. JRay3 says:

At some point they have to figure out how to get off the right foot to start a series. Tonight just got away from them in a hurry and much contributed – awful strike zone, Martin getting tossed by overreacting umpire, inability to get big hits with RISP, Burnett getting rattled and thus leaving too many pitches up.

Just a bad night all around.

  147. Ermine says:

    Is anyone else deflated? :/

  148. Ermine says:

Needs some runs now cant wait until the 8th and 9th tonight

  149. Playoffs by 2012 says:

You think the White Sox would trade us Moskos for Zagurski?

  150. Ermine says:

If we threw in Conteras. his best days were on the south side.

  151. Ermine says:

Im taking the dog out I’m scared, it will be 10-1 when I get back

  152. Thundercrack says:

  153. Thundercrack says:

Zagurski is asking “who moved the mound back?”

  154. Ermine says:

  155. Playoffs by 2012 says:

Brian McCann – 1,000 career hits
Brian McCann – 1,500 career days on the DL

  156. Ermine says:

The equipment guy is clearing out Zags locker as we speak

  157. JRay3 says:

I have seen too much of Zagurski need to cut ties. Bucs run differential taking a beating of late.

  158. JRay3 says:

Welcome to the show Ryan Reid, forever in the big league encyclopedia and does so cleaning up Zags mess.

  159. Reading says:

Could have at least given dude a number for the front of his shirt. Tough jam for debut to get out of.

  160. Ermine says:

  161. Ermine says:

PBC has ‘em where they want ‘em. 8th and 9th coming up

  162. cmat0829 says:

Yep, Zagurski can head back to Indy, where i hear they have good restaurants and perhaps he can find home plate better than a plate of (fill in the blank)….______________

I will start with: brontosauraus ribs a’la flintstone

  163. Ermine says:

    Maybe not

  164. Ermine says:

    pterodactyl wings?

  165. cmat0829 says:

    a pigs worth of bacon?

  166. cmat0829 says:

    lard meatballs?

  167. Ermine says:

DK is probably in the pressbox, at the ice rink, hyperventilating

  168. Ermine says:

I see things aren’t going well over there either.

  169. Ermine says:

four more doubles at we are all set

Congrats to Playoffs for having this.

  181. Chuck H says:

Finally, Burnett lost one for himself but in all honesty, if he had to throw it down the middle to get a strike, that’s another story. I was doing the game on gameday and if that box at home plate is an indication of balls and strikes, then that umpire was blind. I noticed though that when the Braves were batting, his eyesight was still bad but in their favor. I don’t blame Martin a bit for showing his displeasure. I did notice, also that the Braves’ homers all had a runner on base, but it seems that our homers come with the bases empty. We’ll get ‘em tonight. GO, BUCS!!!
