  1. JohninOshkosh says:

That’s one way to solve the SS issue. Don’t start one!

  2. theplanisworking says:

    Or, just glue them together.
Running might be a challenge, but Hoka Hey!! ;)

  3. kr70 says:

and what about the real right fielder. That can’t be all we have.

  4. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    SATURDAY OVER/UNDER LINE

Max “wager” is 100 units on any single line.
All “wagers” must be in multiples of 5 units.
Play as few or as many lines as you’d like.
As always, this is for fun and entertainment purposes.

NEW PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME & ENCOURAGED!!!

    Today’s Line
Total EARNED RUNS ALLOWED by Brandon Cumpton in today’s game
    Line is 3.5
***Please Note this is EARNED RUNS, not total runs allowed***

Please Note – All games must be considered official games in order for line(s) to be valid. Any postponement, cancellation, or suspension of game(s) will void line(s).

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  5. Bill Born says:

    100 on the over .
    Please!

  6. JAL says:

    Stolmy Pimentel promoted to Indy

  7. Daquido_Bazzini says:

That starting line up wouldn’t scare a lethargic flea….Let alone Clayton Kershaw.

  8. blazer says:

I am going against the grain of the rookie and taking the under for today for 100.

  9. That must be a plug for Cumpton because he hasn’t pitched that well lately.

Indy’s staff is hard to recognize these days.

  10. JohninOshkosh says:

    25/Under, please. I thank you.

  11. JUCOFan says:

    25 on the over

  12. DemonDachshund says:

    100 on OVER please.

  13. Thundercrack says:

Mark Appel signed with the Astros today. Getting between $6-$6.5 million.

So basically his gamble paid off for him –he basically doubled his money

  14. JAL says:

    Brian T. Smith ‏@ChronAstros
Astros GM Jeff Luhnow said “nothing’s
changed” with Mark Appel talks in last 24 hours and sides don’t have a deal.

  15. DemonDachshund says:

Depends on whether or not he’s successful.

If he flames out and never gets to free agency, he won big time.
If he’s as good as everyone thinks he is, then he gets +$2.5M now, but that’s offset by getting to arbitration and free agency a year later.

Personally, I’d rather be short the cash and be a year closer to the majors and my big pay day.

  16. Rumors!! Gossip!!

I do not believe Boras lets him sign this early for less than slot ($7,790,400) this early in process——Boras worries about how HE looks as agent. re: Pedro Alvarez re-negotiation.

I think Appel will sign before Deadline, unlike Pedro. But I think it will be close to $8 mill when he signs!

  17. Devil Dog,

That’s why you raise dogs and Boras/Appel negotiate baseball contracts.

Appel gets to pitch close to home/family (he’s from Texas) and starts out $4 million more that he would have gotten from Pirates. Good risk!

  18. Yes, but . . . . . . Barmes is on the bench!

  19. Bizrow says:

I’ll bet 100 on the over

Which means Cumpton will shut them out ;-)

    That’s the ticket….

  20. Bizrow says:

I think Stomly has had a couple of more decent starts lately.

Good to see guys moving up the chain, nonetheless

  21. Arriba Wilver says:

    So, how WAS Superman?

  22. radio wave says:

Playoffs: I will take 50 on the over for today’s line.

  23. Playoffs by 2012 says:

    YOU GOT IT

  24. Well, Dejan’s clock tells me it is 10:45.

I have about 4 hours of mowing to do before the game starts on TV. Looks like I still have plenty of time. I should be done mowing and trimming and still be on the couch with popcorn for the Pre-game easily.

    See yuns guys at 3:30.

  25. Patrick(ri) says:

He’s in there to break up the no-hitter kershaw will pitch today.

  26. DemonDachshund says:

You said it yourself below, Groat… Boras negotiates for Boras as much as he does for his clients. And anyone who signs with Boras knows what he’s getting, so Appel is clearly very happy with his decision.

There are a number of high draft picks who appear to agree with my assessment, though, that getting to the majors ASAP is more valuable than the upfront money… Just because Boras is VERY good at negotiating contracts does not mean he is getting the optimal outcome for his clients.

  27. stuart66 says:

Playoffs, I’m betting 50 escuderos on the Under, sight unseen for Mr. Cumpton.

    Stuart

  28. cherokee23 says:

    100 under

  29. Drew71 says:

    Relaxed.

He’s on vacation with his family.

  30. pattonbb says:

    100 on the UNDER

  31. Thundercrack says:

If it was up to me and I was going to get $3 million last year or $6 million this year, I would take the $6 million.

And I wouldn’t have to worry so much about flaming out or when I hit free agency.

  32. Joey Mellons says:

    100 over.

  33. theplanisworking says:

    Mr. Playoffs………..

I will be super-optimisitc here, and go

    50 on the UNDER !!

    GO BUCS!
    (And Hippos).

  34. theplanisworking says:

    Mr. Playoffs………..

I will be super-optimisitc here, and go

    50 on the UNDER !!

    GO BUCS!
    (And Hippos).

  35. cmat0829 says:

    100 under.

  36. Dadtackular says:

    100 under

  37. Thundercrack says:

    The system is flooded !!

  38. Bizrow says:

    + 1

  39. JAL says:

Nice way start an MLB career

  40. Bizrow says:

    What a surprising start

The “Flood” comment was due to all the trades, was it not?

Regardless, good start, but only one inning ;-)

  41. Patrick(ri) says:

    Hey! That Inge’s job.

  42. theplanisworking says:

    I just like the name.

    And Felix Pie.

If he makes it to the majors, all the pizza joints can have a promotion……..

    EAT HOT PIE !!!

    :)

  43. Patrick(ri) says:

I will never understand why mgrs love to bunt with guy already in scoring position AND a very fast guy on base???

  44. theplanisworking says:

    Fun Fact:

Hippos are one creature that doesn’t mind a flood.
    Quite the contrary.

  45. Frankie says:

We need to score runs off of Kershaw now

  46. Patrick(ri) says:

My evil side expects a DP, now.

  47. Bizrow says:

    + 1

  48. Bizrow says:

    + 1

  49. Bizrow says:

Need to make some hay this inning

  50. Frankie says:

    Wow what a gift

  51. theplanisworking says:

    1) Lethargic fleas need love 2.
    2) Barmes is on the bench !!!

  52. theplanisworking says:

    1) Lethargic fleas need love 2.
    2) Barmes is on the bench !!!

  53. Patrick(ri) says:

This could be the year! What a lousy throw – this Dodger team is really out of sync.

  54. Bizrow says:

    Need to keep it going.

How many times do folks talk about an Ace struggling in the first and then settling down?

  55. Patrick(ri) says:

Right. One run is not enough, with all that has happened.

  56. Bizrow says:

    Crap

  57. Patrick(ri) says:

That bunt sure looks stupid now. iMHO.

  58. theplanisworking says:

Steve Carlton was classic Exhibit A on this.

  59. Bizrow says:

    Yup

  60. Steelag70 says:

Maybe one of these days we will actually have a lineup that will be able to do SOMETHING against a top-shelf starter….holy crap….

  61. Steelag70 says:

    This game is over!

  62. Steelag70 says:

Wow…am I the only one here? lol

  63. Frankie says:

    Exactly what Kershaw is doing…

  64. Bizrow says:

I thought the site was broken again

  65. Steelag70 says:

It’s not like we have much to celebrate with this game…lol.

  66. pattonbb says:

Here we go. Goofball Ellis got the glove to close. 2 on, no outs.

’bout time for another bunt, right?
    :)

  67. theplanisworking says:

Cumpton gave 5 good innings, Hurdle lrft him in one inning too long.

Our bats are silent again, but that is a recurring theme.

At least we arent down 8-0, or something.

  68. Steelag70 says:

Against Kershaw it’s basically the same….

  69. Steelag70 says:

    UGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

  70. pattonbb says:

Hard to blame Hurdle there. Cumpton had only thrown 75 pitches.

  71. Steelag70 says:

No complaints on Cumpton…as usual, it’s the lineup…Cain and now Kershaw…1 run and 5 hits in two games vs top-shelf starters….

  72. theplanisworking says:

    Not blaming Hurdle.
Cumpton looked tired in the 5th. I am saying maybe he should have been lifted, even though he only threw 75 pitches.

But a very solid outing in his debut.

  73. Steelag70 says:

Agreed…no problems with Cumpton…we just got hit with the injury bug all at once…only reason Inge still has a roster spot…

  74. Lad9 says:

Wilson with 100 mph on the gun!. Think it is sustainable?

  75. Steelag70 says:

The game in a nutshell..Dodgers are 3-7 WRISP, Buccos are 0-6…

  76. theplanisworking says:

    Better question…………….

Is it worthy of applause? ;)

  77. Steelag70 says:

    Ok….no more Kershaw…let’s do it….

  78. Steelag70 says:

    Withrow has a 13.50 ERA!

  79. pattonbb says:

Come on Sanchez!! Make him throw strikes.

  80. Steelag70 says:

    RIDICULOUS!!!

  81. Steelag70 says:

    Unbelieveable…

  82. Steelag70 says:

Walker needs to give up hitting right-handed…

  83. Steelag70 says:

    Last chance….

  84. Steelag70 says:

    Way to go G.I,,,,,

  85. pattonbb says:

    Tied game baby!!!! Travis Snider!!!!!

  86. theplanisworking says:

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

  87. Lad9 says:

    Lunch box! He killed it!

  88. Steelag70 says:

    SNIDER!!!!!

  89. Lad9 says:

    Dripping with power!

  90. Steelag70 says:

Well at least today thank goodness!!

  91. Steelag70 says:

He may only have 3 HR’s so far but they have all been clutch I think…

  92. Steelag70 says:

    Ok…time to end it…

  93. Lad9 says:

I believe you are correct. Lets end it now right here. I feel a Cutch walk off coming!

  94. Steelag70 says:

    Come on Cutch….geeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  95. Steelag70 says:

    Come on Neil…..

  96. Steelag70 says:

    Pedro! Pedro!

  97. pattonbb says:

I know it’s one of those damned if you do, damned if you don’t situations, but they should’ve sent Martin. 2 outs, 10th inning? Force them to make a play.

    Bad decision by Leyva.

  98. Steelag70 says:

    UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  99. Steelag70 says:

AGREED!!!!!!!!! Especially with the fact that you have a short bench…Barmes is now the only one left,,,,

  100. Steelag70 says:

There’s no way the Dodgers were going to let Pedro hit in that situation….

  101. Lad9 says:

Damn! Vin has hit a little rough patch in the past two weeks.

  102. Steelag70 says:

Why is Grilli not in there??

  103. Steelag70 says:

    Dangit Vin!!!

  104. Lad9 says:

Giving up a hit to the likes of Punto there is a sure sign that you don’t have it today.

  105. Steelag70 says:

    Get him out of there!!

  106. Steelag70 says:

    Snider-Presley-Mercer….

  107. Lad9 says:

OK. Brandon League is very beatable. Hoist the colors – ramming speed!!

  108. Lad9 says:

    Snider is Mr. Extra Innings!

  109. Steelag70 says:

    Good start…come on Presley…

  110. Lad9 says:

    Not saying anything this time….

  111. Steelag70 says:

    Mercer can hit….come on Cutch….

  112. Steelag70 says:

    Ugghhh…good but bad…now they will walk Cutch…

  113. Lad9 says:

    Come on Gaby

  114. Steelag70 says:

    OMG Cutch!!

  115. Steelag70 says:

    Cutch has become “No-Clutch”…

  116. Lad9 says:

Damn. Good rip but bad location. Good conversing with you Steelag.

  117. Steelag70 says:

Another game we should not have lost…

  118. theplanisworking says:

    Lower the Jolly Hippo. :(

  119. Lad9 says:

Yes, but you can’t keep a hippo down for long!

  120. theplanisworking says:

    :D

  121. Jim S. says:

The Cole Train vs. Greinke tomorrow. Could be a great one. I think if we scratch across 3 runs, there is a very good chance we take the rubber game and head out on the road 13 games over .500. I think the Giants lineup was tougher for Cole than this more free swinging one of the Dodgers.

Should be another sell-out, or very close to it. 110,000 for the weekend + approx. 70,000 vs. SF = 30,000 avg for the homestand. Slowly creeping back up toward last year’s numbers at the same point.

  122. kr70 says:

    This one is on Leyva.

  123. Daquido_Bazzini says:

Greinke tomorrow?…..Watch out for your heads.
